Chapter 3271 - Chapter 2414: Mind Assault (32)_1

```"This guy must be out of his mind." Helen's expression was all knotted up as she said, "He injected himself with an ultra-high concentration of the Doomsday Virus, a concentration that not even Doomsday itself had in its body. I have no clue how he managed to refine it."
"What's even more outrageous is that the Doomsday spores have a high chance of causing human death, so I usually dilute the concentration over and over, wishing that one spore would only carry one virus instance. Even so, it easily drives people mad."
"But he... he injected a high concentration of the Doomsday Virus into his bloodstream, and not only is he still alive, but it seems he's also gained some of Doomsday's powers. My God..."
While Helen was exclaiming, Doomsday Batman already had Superman pinned to the ground, yet Strange sensed something was wrong. He said, "Why does it seem like the guy in the red and blue uniform is a bit weak?"
"That's Superman." Helen frowned as well, remarking, "If I remember correctly, Superman's weakness is... God, he didn't mix Kryptonite into the virus, did he???"
"Truly worthy of being Batman." Helen was at a loss for words and sighed, "Just one injection of that virus into my body and I'd get gastroenteritis."
"Don't just stand there watching, hurry up and stop them. If this goes on, the entire city will be destroyed."
By then, Superman was caught by the throat by the Doomsday Batman, and his hand instantly went limp the moment it touched Doomsday Batman's arm, barely able to muster any meaningful resistance.
As the grip on Superman's neck tightened, his pupils began to dilate, but a different brilliance returned to his eyes. He used his last bit of strength to look into Batman's eyes and said, "He's here... kill him... kill him..."
Boom!!!!!!!
Suddenly, a loud noise came from behind the two of them. A gigantic shadow completely blocked out the sunlight. Batman turned around, only to see a huge eye, ten times larger than himself, peering through the gaps between the buildings at him.
A monster, massive as a mountain while lying prone, slowly rose to its feet, its deep voice echoing across the planet, "Batman..."
As he turned around, the grip of Doomsday Batman loosened slightly, and a shocked Superman stared at the monster and shouted, "Doomsday??!! Impossible, weren't you already dead??!!"
"You're the one who's dead." The Beast seemed very displeased, remarking, "Don't say something so unlucky. Just lie there."
The enormous Doomsday creature had just stood upright when a shadow flickered to its chin, and an uppercut sent it staggering.
"Oh!" Helen let out a cry of pain, rubbing her chin with her clawed hand and complaining, "This form is too light. Steven, step aside."
But in reality, there was no time left for Strange to move. Almost instantly, the sunlight illuminating Earth disappeared.
People saw an immense shadow completely covering the sun, like a sudden solar eclipse. In that moment, Earth plunged into darkness.
When Doomsday Batman looked up again, a giant star had fallen and stopped directly above Earth. Only when he closely distinguished the pattern on it did he realize it was the pupil he just observed.
It was as if Jupiter had descended upon Earth, the massive, beast-like vertical pupil coldly sweeping over every living being on the planet.
When it opened its enormous mouth to inhale, the entire city, along with Doomsday Batman, Superman, and everyone else, was swallowed into its belly.
Strange used teleportation to dodge far away. As soon as Doomsday closed its mouth, he floated above the sea and yelled, "Why did you swallow them all?!"
"I had no choice," came the voice of Doomsday. "Otherwise, I couldn't possibly beat Batman! That's Batman!"
"There's clearly a misunderstanding here!" Strange said, "The relation between the one in black and the one in red and blue isn't simple, and you just killed them both..."
"Who said I killed them all?" Helen transformed back, clutching her stomach with a pained expression, "I trapped them with the Doomsday spores. I'm trying to use the Doomsday Virus in my body to gradually dilute the Doomsday Virus in Batman's body, but he is being very uncooperative."
"What do you plan to do?" Strange asked.
Helen writhed in pain clutching her stomach, "Turns out, you really shouldn't eat Batman on an empty stomach. Find me two stars to fill my belly first."
Gotham City, 6:00PM.
A special ambulance sped by, splashing water on the pedestrians' trouser legs. But they had no time to curse out loud, because just in that fleeting moment, they caught sight of a terrifyingly mad laugh through the prison van's window.
The Joker sat in the ambulance, accompanied not by doctors and nurses, but by fully armed police officers escorting this mad criminal to the newly renovated Arkham Psychiatric Hospital.
News broadcasts were coming from the radio next to the driver's seat in the front compartment, discussing the huge investment Wayne Enterprises made concerning the mental health of Gotham's citizens.
"It is reported that the newly constructed Arkham Psychiatric Hospital features a modern, professional management team, aimed at providing the most comfortable and secure medical environment for all patients. If you are in need of mental health treatment, please call..."
With a snap, the driver changed the station and a passionate female voice came through the radio.
"To everyone's surprise, Mr. Wayne made it clear that this is a high-end medical research institution. Though renovating the entire insane asylum cost a large sum of money, he still guarantees an annual investment of no less than 50 million US dollars into this specialized mental hospital."```
"Obviously, what's worth looking forward to is that this is going to be built into a benchmark mental hospital on the East Coast, and perhaps it will even give the Amputee Psychiatric Medical Center in Metropolis a run for its money."
The Joker in the back of the car started humming and muttering to himself, "How naive, such a naive boy, injections and medication, making them sleep soundly, that's his way of treating us, I hope he can heal society in the same way."
Everyone sitting nearby was expressionless, obviously they were already accustomed to the madman's ramblings, but the Joker paid them no heed.
"What kind of medicine will he give me?" the Joker tilted his head, and when nobody answered him, he gloomily lowered his head, shrugging his shoulders and the wrinkles on his forehead and beside his mouth becoming even more pronounced.
The car slowly came to a stop, the officers escorted the Joker, led him through the main gate, and made a special emphasis when handing him over to the nurse that this was an extremely dangerous patient and must be isolated from the others.
The Joker knew they would not succeed, because his purpose in going to prison was to complete his plan here.
The nurse took the Joker to the changing room, and to the Joker's surprise, the nurse's attitude was a bit too kind, with a smile throughout the service, gentle movements, a soothing tone, and even considerately introducing the attention points within the hospital to the Joker along the way.
As soon as he entered the changing room, the Joker realized it didn't quite look like a temporary changing room, it couldn't be described as cramped, but rather luxuriously decorated. If one had to describe it, it was like entering the lobby of a bathhouse.
After turning a corner and passing through another corridor, the Joker finally found the place to change his clothes, only to find that it wasn't a locker with a set of patient clothes, but an entire fitting room.
"What the fuck is this?" the Joker said instinctively.
"This is the brand-new emotional therapy," the nurse answered from outside, "We aim to provide patients with the most comfortable care. Hospital gowns can bring strong negative psychological implications, so we have prepared a variety of clothes for our respected patients to ensure they match your usual dressing style, giving you a more positive psychological suggestion."
The Joker sorted through the clothes and then noticed a bunch of tags hanging below the clothes on the upper row. He thought they were descriptions of the clothes, but then he found they were brand labels.
The Joker didn't recognize the brand, but he knew numbers, and when he saw the string of zeros, he was stunned.
"This fucking shirt costs a fucking fifty thousand dollars??!!"
"Yes, sir, before this hospital completed its renovation, Mr. Wayne hired the most renowned fashion designers in the world, and with the aesthetics Wayne Enterprises has always adhered to, more than six hundred clothing design schemes were selected, made from high-quality materials like silk and wool, ensuring the unity of aesthetics and comfort."
"Can I have a regular hospital gown instead?"
"Of course, please proceed forward and turn left, there you'll find hospital gowns and sportswear."
The Joker turned around and found a cabinet, pulled out the drawer, and indeed there was a set of hospital gowns. As soon as he picked it up, he found there were a bunch of price tags attached under the hospital gown as well.
Seeing the price, he doubted whether something was wrong with his eyes.
He looked at the figure, shook out the hospital gown, and confirmed inside and out, again and again, that it was just a regular set of cotton blue-striped hospital gowns.
But this ordinary hospital gown costs three thousand dollars.
"Isn't there any free clothing?"
"Sir, this is a private hospital, and even if we have taken on the government's custody and intake requests, the billing standards remain unchanged. We've invested three hundred million U.S. dollars in this renovation, and you must understand that we also need to recoup the cost..."
"But I'm fucking broke!"
"Don't worry, sir, according to the American healthcare system, if you're temporarily unable to pay the medical bills, we can apply for a free health care card for you and put all your hospital bills on this card."
"However, once your income standard exceeds 140% of the Federal poverty line, all income in your name will be used to repay the medical bills, and after your death, all your properties will be inspected, and they can only be inherited after all the discounts from the health card have been reimbursed."
"Great," the Joker took a deep breath, picked up the hospital gown, and walked to the door, saying, "He wants my money, right? He can have it, there's nothing in this world I can't let go of."
"No, sir, this is a hospital. All the medical staff here hope you receive the best treatment..."
"Then tell me, madam, how much do you make from selling a shirt worth fifty thousand U.S. dollars?"
"We're not on commission, Mister Joker, we have our own salary standards, but due to confidentiality agreements, we cannot disclose it to anyone. Please change your clothes, we need to go to the ward."
In the end, the Joker still changed into the hospital gown, and by the time he came out, the nurse had already processed the health care card for him.
"They always have such privileges, don't they?" the Joker said, "Being able to control everything about you, things that seem very time-consuming and effortful to you, they acquire with ease."
The nurse walked forward, smiling back at him and said, "Sorry, sir, if you are referring to the speed of processing your health care card, this is a new cooperation reached by the Federal Government with local medical institutions, which allows designated medical institutions to issue the card directly without submitting applications, provided the conditions are met."
"If you are referring to my case... I am very sorry, my income and living conditions do not qualify for a health care card, and here is the ward."
