Joker just wanted to say, I didn't even cry out, why are you? Can't you open your eyes and see who is dressed more bizarrely?!
Like he'd seen a ghost, Deadpool leapt down from the second floor, running helter-skelter towards the front.
Ahead was the smoke bomb area.
Deadpool might be the only person in New York who knew Joker's true power, even being able to accurately identify which universe the two Joker's came from.
Ignoring the long-haired Joker who tripped him up, who was from some nowhere universe and probably not too strong, the one he had just seen from the balcony, was definitely a super madman from New 52!!!
This guy had first decimated the Batman Family, then controlled the Justice League, and finally almost caused the universe to collapse. If he didn't run, he was definitely going to die!
Deadpool, fueled by a strong will to survive, didn't care what was ahead and charged forward at full speed.
No matter what, he was a genetically modified person. When he burst out with all his strength, his power was quite considerable.
Boom!
Bruce, who was groping in the fog, was directly knocked out. The Joker he had been chasing happened to be right in front of him. They collided like pool balls and both flew out.
Bruce, who had gotten Spider-Man's physical strength, had met his match with Deadpool. Stunned, all three of them tumbled to the side of the road.
A helicopter emerged from behind the building on the other side of the street. A red-haired female agent jumped down from the low flying helicopter without looking at anyone else. She went straight over and lifted Bruce up.
Bruce was still a little dazed. After steadying himself, he shook his head and looked at Natasha across from him, saying: "Thank you... Oh, wait!! Don't come close to me!!!"
Bruce backed away in a panic as if he'd seen a ghost. Joker couldn't believe his eyes.
He could fully understand. This Bruce was younger, and maybe he hadn't fully become Batman yet, at least not the omnipotent Batman from his middle age period.
This Joker, new to the scene, probably didn't understand the relationship between Joker and Batman, just a clumsy car thief criminal.
Their confrontation today was just due to some interruptions, or because they were particularly unlucky, making them seem somewhat foolish. After rational consideration, Joker could entirely understand and accept this.
But he couldn't understand why Bruce Wayne was avoiding women.
It was unscientific. Bruce Wayne's appearance made it impossible for him to be an innocent boy. Even if he didn't flirt with girls actively, even if he weren't one of the richest men in the world, just because of his handsome face, there's no innocence for him.
According to Joker's knowledge of Batman, Batman didn't indulge in beauty, but he didn't refuse to enjoy it either. He understood he was handsome and knew how to benefit from it.
This female agent in front of him was obviously an integral part of some agent organization. Instead of using all his charm to seduce her, why was he running away?!
Joker really wanted to slap Batman, to see if he could wake him up. If he'd flirted with this woman earlier, would he still be chasing Joker in such a fluster?
If you claim not to reveal your face and identity, then you should wear your costume and mask. Since you've already revealed Bruce Wayne's face and identity, why don't you make use of Wayne's advantages?!
Joker suddenly felt as though he couldn't fully understand every Batman, but immediately realized that he liked his Batman the best.
It's not that Joker really enjoyed being beaten by Batman; he liked the helplessness Batman felt while beating him, because Batman couldn't do anything else. What Joker liked even more was that he could completely understand Batman's emotions.
Even though many people might think it didn't exist, was too faint, or even if they experienced it firsthand couldn't understand, all of Batman's emotions were laid bare before the Joker, he was naturally able to comprehend everything about the Dark Knight.
It felt as though he was the only one in a class who had the answer to a test. How many people could resist gloating while others were scratching their heads looking for the answer, yet, they were able to write with ease?
If there were no more answers in a test, things would become difficult. Joker was well-versed in psychology and behavior, but he faced an intelligence barrier.
In simple terms, a person may find it easy to understand something, but he can't appreciate the predicament of someone who can't understand it.
The Joker from New 52 was extremely smart, so much so that even if he was sane, he could be considered a genius comparable to Batman. Therefore, he really couldn't understand, how on Earth No.1 had Batman become so messed up while being several notches lower in intelligence.
It's not like you're chasing Darkseid on Apocalypse Star, merely following a foolish Joker on an ordinary city street. How unluckily would you have to be to fail?
But, Joker soon realized, it had nothing to do with luck. This Batman and this Joker had reached this point purely through their own capabilities.
The Joker got up from the ground.
The first thing Joker did after getting up was to take Natasha hostage.
Not just the Joker was stunned, Bruce, Natasha, Hawkeye on the helicopter and Captain America who was next to them fighting Deathstroke, they all froze.
Joker swore, even a three-year-old could tell that the female agent's changing expressions of panic and teardrops were fake after three seconds.
Bruce didn't notice. He immediately got anxious.
Joker couldn't understand it. If you're afraid of her, there should be a reason. It's usually because she's either too strong or too vicious. But you know she's both strong and vicious. So, why would you think that she would actually get flustered because of being kidnapped?
When Bruce yelled at Joker to let go of Natasha, Joker on the balcony was amused by his outburst.
Then he found, to his surprise, that the panicked expression on Natasha's face was real. Joker frowned and looked closely. He found that this curly-haired clown was surprisingly powerful.
Joker had long realized that Natasha was extraordinary, at least a genetically modified super agent, because her strength and the way she used it was entirely different from ordinary people; strong and experienced.
Just now he clearly saw Natasha struggling slightly, probably for show, but even this slight struggle did not budge the hand that held her arm.
This was interesting. Joker thought, a clown with huge strength but overwhelmingly stupid, was indeed rare.
Even stranger still, in the face of the hostages, Bruce chose not to negotiate. Instead, he punched straight away.
What was more shocking was that both Joker, the kidnapper, and Natasha, the kidnapped, were all blown away. Joker on the balcony's eyes widened.
He had previously noted that the physical qualities of this Batman were a bit more formidable than the one he knew, but he didn't expect the extent of the difference. Bruce looked like he didn't exert himself at all, and the two on the other side together must exceed 300 pounds.
Captain America rushed forward to catch the flying Natasha. Joker picked himself up from the ground and turned to run. His gunshot wounds were already so faded that they were barely visible.
Joker knew his own body well but he clearly didn't possess such an extraordinary self-healing power, especially for through and through gunshot wounds which would need at least a few days to heal.
If he had the ability to heal himself that fast, Batman could never beat him up. The moment his bones were broken, he'd be healed before even being taken to Arkham.
Apart from his self-healing ability, this Joker was running extraordinarily fast, his leg movements were almost as fast as a car. But, Bruce chasing him was no ordinary man either; he seemed to be running a bit faster than Joker.
Just as Joker thought this farce was about to end with the chase of these two muscular brutes whose brain was weaker than their brawn, there was a "bang", and a manhole cover at the end of the street flew up. Joker suddenly disappeared while running.
Bruce barely managed to stop in time so as not to fall in. But from the sewer entrance, there leaped a burly, grotesque man covered with crocodile-like elevated patterns.
"Who the hell connected the sewage line here?!!"
Everyone looked perplexed, only Deathstroke turned to look at Deadpool, asking, "…Is this how you forced Kingpin out?!"
Bruce's spider-sense was ringing off the hook.
"Run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
With a thunderous roar, everyone turned and ran. Joker was just a step too late, so he got a firsthand experience of what it meant for the shit to hit the fan.
The ground next to the small sewer entrance cracked open and a huge fountain shot into the sky. Along with the fountain, the curly-haired Joker was thrown to the air.
Joker was now so homesick for his own Batman that he wanted to cry. Why! Did he have to dodge shit here?!!
Luckily Joker was on the second-floor balcony. He quickly climbed to the third-floor rooftop, leaping from roof to roof to avoid the fecal disaster. Bruce also jumped up and loudly declared, "Don't run, I'll catch you."
"Can't you open your eyes and look!!!" Joker hollered over his shoulder as he ran. "Am I your Joker?!!!"
Just as Bruce was about to yell again, Joker saw a Batplane shaking its way towards them. Now, seeing Batman's Robin brought him the warmth of kinship.
"Forget about the extermination disaster for now, hurry up and get me away from this Batman. If I'm with him for another second, my firm and unshakeable love for Batman will waver!"
Rabin on the plane seemed to perceive Joker's dilemma, dropped a ladder, which Joker grabbed. The Batplane disappeared into the sky over New City with Joker on board.
With a thud, Joker landed in the hangar. Red Robin jumped down from his driver's seat, walked curiously over to Joker to check if he was still alive.
With a swift movement, Joker on the floor gave both Red Robin and Red Hood quite a jump as they backed away in sync.
Joker collapsed to the floor again.
He lay on the floor, his cheek against the floor, his fist clenched slowly. After a while, he propped up his upper body and stood, leaning one hand on the wing of the Batplane, the other covering his face.
Just when Robin and his group thought they were about to see that mad laugh again, they heard Joker sigh with a deep voice they had never heard before, almost grinding his teeth.
"Go, call Batman, tell him to come back... immediately! Now!!!"
Red Robin blinked in confusion, just about to say something when the phone at his waist rang.
He hit the answer key and loud hoots from Penguin Man came from the other side.
"Call Batman!!! Tell him to come back!! Immediately!! Now!!! "
