Bruce first called the Osborn Group, expressing his intention to apply. They assigned him a pick-up location, and soon Bruce arrived at the Medical Experiment Center. This was a very futuristic-looking experimental zone, and the buildings seemed new, as though they had been completed not long ago.
The staff warmly received Bruce and complimented his appearance. Upon reaching the actual interview location, there were already many interviewees waiting outside the room. Bruce observed them carefully and noticed that the majority appeared to be Caucasian young men, similar in appearance to him.
But it was not boastful to say that in all aspects of his appearance, Bruce stood out among those present.
As the interviews were arranged alphabetically by name, it was soon Bruce's turn. The moment Bruce entered, he could clearly see a spark in the interviewer's eyes.
"Please have a seat." The female interviewer looked down at the files in her hands and said after comparing Bruce's appearance with his photograph, "You look even more handsome than in your photo. Please tell us about yourself."
"Hello, my name is White Liebit."
Obviously, this was a pseudonym, but that was the identity Bruce Wayne was given, so in this world, he was White, not Bruce Wayne. Even if he were, it wouldn't matter, as this universe didn't have Wayne Enterprises, and the richest man in the world was a guy named Tony Stark.
After standard questions about his name, age, physical condition, and other details, the interviewer placed her hands on the table and asked, "When did you begin to notice changes in your appearance?"
Bruce slightly furrowed his brow. Were they mistaking him for someone whose looks improved later in life? It wasn't surprising, though. When Bruce was in Battleworld, he couldn't help but marvel at how handsome the other Batmans were.
But if he claimed to be naturally good-looking, he might not pass the interview, so after hesitating for a moment, Bruce said, "Probably about half a month ago. I moved homes with my daughter, and I started noticing that my physique was becoming more robust to the point where I could hardly fit into my old clothes..."
The interviewer recorded his statement diligently. Bruce was rambling, but his story wasn't entirely fabricated.
His muscular physique was the result of his own physical training. During the process of working out, of course, he'd experienced outgrowing his old clothes, receiving compliments on improved physique, and such scenarios. He incorporated these narratives, and it seemed like the interviewer believed him.
"Very well, you've passed the interview," the interviewer smiled and said. "Once you've signed all the agreements and insurance contracts, we'll officially begin the experiment. You'll need to live here for a week, during which time you will use special equipment to communicate with the outside world, and before you officially move in, you'll have one day to sort out the matters at home."
Bruce didn't ask anything more, just nodded and left. But on his way back, his phone mysteriously received a message.
"Hello, Mr. Liebit. Has the Osborn Group invited you for human trials?"
Bruce furrowed his brow and cautiously replied, "Who are you?"
The other party didn't respond until Bruce's feet touched the ground after getting off the car. That's when his phone rang.
"Hello, I'm the person who just texted you."
Bruce recognized the use of a voice changer, which made him suspicious. The other party accurately responded to his suspicion: "I know you are displeased with my use of a voice changer because it implies that I may be looking for trouble with you. Indeed, that's my plan."
"You can consider me an enforcer. I am investigating Osborn's human experiments. Regardless of whether you've sensed any irregularities, I would like you to provide me with any information on the human trials."
Bruce furrowed his brow deeply. He was just about to refuse when the voice continued, "Mr. Liebit, your records show that you have a 7-year-old daughter with a communication impairment, and she had to drop out of her previous community school. You're keen to provide her with a new environment."
"Providing me with information can get you a substantial reward, and you can still take Osborn Group's money. I won't ask you to do anything immoral."
"On the contrary, Osborn must have questioned you about your appearance. You might feel that becoming more attractive and stronger is a good thing, but perhaps that's exactly the trap Osborn Group has laid for you. Now they want to experiment on you."
"Make your choice, Mr. Liebit. I await your reply."
The call was then abruptly disconnected, and Bruce hadn't been able to get a word in edge-wise. The call felt as though he was listening to someone's answering machine message. Bruce highly suspected it was a pre-recorded message that was being sent out in bulk.
The next day, Bruce and Aisha moved. Most of the things in their former apartment belonged to the landlord, so there wasn't much they could take, the moving process was quick. Bruce seemed a bit distracted, pondering over the mysterious phone call.
Another matter that concerned him was Aisha's safety. Even though Aisha had assured him that she could take care of herself when he proposed participating in the experiment, such a statement from any child couldn't be convincing.
Fast food could help Aisha survive, but ensuring safety was indeed difficult, especially in light of the mysterious call where the caller knew about his daughter. Was Aisha in danger in his absence?
Soon, Bruce realized that his worries were somewhat unnecessary, or rather that he had worried about the wrong person.
Because he had just watched in disbelief as Aisha, within merely a few seconds, bit the old children's slide in the backyard into pieces.
In fact, Bruce hadn't seen exactly how she had bitten it, he only saw dust flying up, sharp fangs stirring the wind, then there was the sound of cracking, as the slide broke into pieces and fell.
Bruce stared in shock out the window, while Aisha was quite satisfied with her handiwork, stretched lazily, yawned, and ambled back into the house.
Bruce thought it was time to worry about the local security.
Of course, he realized that this little girl had many unusual traits, such as her sharp fangs, which were not humanly possible, she was highly intelligent and quick-witted, at least more so than him.
But now Bruce began to seriously ponder, who exactly was Aisha's mother, and how her father had managed to accomplish such a feat.
While the security was indeed a piece of good news, Bruce still told Aisha about the mysterious call, hoping she would be careful. After listening, Aisha rubbed her chin and said, "You go, he comes to find me."
Just as Bruce was about to ask what she meant, Aisha said, "If he doesn't come, I'll go."
Bruce widened his eyes, wanted to dissuade her, but Aisha shook her head and said, "Don't worry, I'll bite him, if you don't go, I'll bite you."
Looking at Aisha's sharp fangs, Bruce sighed and silently prayed in his heart that the other party wouldn't take it into their heads to come looking for Aisha.
The next morning, Bruce got into the car of the Osborn Group. The moment he got in the car, a flash of light twinkled on the car's hood, an invisible camera pointed straight at Bruce's face, and his face appeared on a large screen.
Standing in front of the screen, Tony Stark, clad in silver armor, widened his eyes slightly. He had only one thought right now, wasn't this Bruce Wayne?
The Ultimate Iron Man, also known as White Can, who had played games with Batman in Battleworld, would certainly not fail to recognize Batman's sexy chin.
Of course, the only Batman that White Can had actually seen with his full face was the one from the Schiller Universe. It was during the game that Schiller and Stark, along with Eddie, Thor, Loki, and Bruce, participated in.
The reason why White Can had such a deep impression of this Batman was not just because he had shown his face. He knew that he was a student of Schiller's from another, more distant universe, and that he was younger than the other Batmen.
The Ultimate Iron Man stared at the face on the screen, wasn't this Schiller's student?
No wonder the Ultimate Iron Man was mistaken. At this moment, this Bruce Wayne was also very young, and he was not as strong as the other Batmen who dressed in bat suits. His body was not as good, and he didn't have that experienced, reserved killer temperament.
In short, they were very similar, although there were slight differences in detail, such as the hairstyle, and the color of the eyes were a bit different, but White Can was busy fighting at that time, he didn't look so closely. He isn't a superhero known for his detective abilities, so at first glance, of course, he would think this was the young Batman he had seen before, right?
Now it was a big trouble. White Can's face became serious. Regardless of Schiller's plot to throw his student into this universe, perhaps it was aimed at him, just the young Batman alone was not easy to deal with.
White Can's evaluation of Batman was already high enough. If a person's various abilities could be quantified, he originally thought that his abilities were sufficiently outrageous, but there are better ones out there.
This superhero called Batman can no longer be called a standout among the human race, he doesn't run too fast, he flies too low. Although each attribute is slightly different from the monsters that have completely departed from the human category, he is omnipotent in all aspects.
At this thought, the Ultimate Iron Man immediately became nervous, he immediately started operating the equipment to call up full surveillance, then he figured out all the life trajectories of Bruce after he came here.
It's a disaster, Stark thought, he probably already found out who I am.
Please, if the omnipotent Batman wanted to make money, why would he choose to work on a construction site? Isn't this an invitation for Stark to take his head off and use it as a soccer ball?
Moreover, going to the construction site is one thing, but after he arrived, there were no signs of intrusion in the surveillance network at all. This means that Batman is not there to look for video evidence, he wants to catch him red-handed.
White Can had heard stories about Batman breaking people's limbs to force confessions, probably his subordinates have already been tortured by Batman in places where surveillance cameras can't reach.
Stark couldn't believe that those soft-legged shrimps could keep secrets under Batman's torture. Now the question is, how much does Batman know and how does he plan to deal with himself next.
When it's really unlucky, even drinking cold water can clog your teeth, Stark thought grittishly.
Dealing with Captain America, dealing with Pepper, dealing with this timeline's me, dealing with the preserved normal Stark's consciousness, dealing with the normal Stark is not enough, but also have to deal with Batman?
Sometimes being a villain is really helpless.
