Shiller was buried in his work in his temporary office in Battleworld, he had many tasks at hand, but the current priority was to coordinate the selection of competitors and get the universe administrators to let them pass.
For anyone, this is not an easy job, but the crux of the matter is not those universe administrators who have heard of Shiller or had dealings with him, but the divine beings from remote universes who haven't returned to their avatars for tens of thousands of years for meetings.
At the beginning, Shiller estimated that the job would be difficult. He believed that for every call he made, he would have to negotiate with the other party for at least several days. All universe administrators would seize the opportunity to ruthlessly fleece him.
Later, he realized he might have judged others by his own measure. After all, the number of sentient beings in the world who valued money more than their lives was a minority.
The vast majority sent out the selected competitors busily after hearing Shiller's name. The scene couldn't be described as reluctant or sighing, but as deafening as firecrackers and drums.
The situation in the Schiller Universe couldn't be hidden for long. After all, some of the impacts it had were profound. After he arrived in the Marvel Universe, the Universe Administrators Handbook underwent three major updates and five minor updates each year, needless to say, those were for him.
In the beginning, people believed that the universe Shiller resided in had something special. But as Eternity from Shiller's universe frequented the larger world for business trips, everyone learned about the situation in the Schiller Universe through this top piece of bad luck.
This made them understand that if there was a bug in the universe but it didn't have any harmful effects for now, it should be left alone. Because they would never know whether the person who wanted to exploit it would resort to extreme measures to ask for compensation if you messed up their plan by fixing the bug.
So when Shiller's call came, most administrators thought it was better for Shiller to take their people away than for him to come to them directly, they waved their hands generously and approved directly, not needing Shiller's persuasion at all.
Shiller prepared a lot of words, but he didn't expect the other party to give in without a struggle, so the preliminary work was completed quickly.
But soon he was faced with a new problem that many remote universes could not be contacted at all, and some that could be contacted were either indifferent or resolutely refused. Nothing he said helped.
This made Shiller feel troubled because he knew if his reputation reached these universes, the likelihood of their agreement would increase. But it also meant that he would never be able to instigate anything in these universes again. He would face bullying like he previously did in Battleworld's game, where everyone recognized him and was wary of him, and not just that the game was over, he wouldn't even get to have any fun anymore.
Actually, it was not the first time he ran into this kind of trouble, he didn't even have to think to know that all Batmans who have heard of him now have tens of millions of contingency plans, trying to trick them to get 300 billion using the identity of a psychiatrist again would probably be very difficult.
Of course, Shiller did not really take 300 billion from Batman of the Arkham Knight Universe. Not to mention anything else, even if the printing machines were working full force, it would take a while to print so much money, and Batman just became president and has not had time to control the Federal Reserve yet.
Besides, Batman has encountered a bigger problem.
That is, Peter is still looking for the Riddler Trophy in Gotham, and his 160+ new Robins are blocking the Spider-kid who is jumping around in Gotham City.
How do you describe this scene? On his way to the mayor's residence, Penguin Man was robbed while eating hotpot and singing, he was tied to the Robin stronghold. When the gag in his mouth was taken down, he found out that the Robins claimed he had conspired with Spider Man.
Penguin Man was puzzled, even if he really had conspired with Spider Man, why did they capture him?
Were they hoping that he would beat Spider Man to a pulp, only to be beaten up by Batman, or were they hoping he would beat Batman to a pulp so that he could beat Spider Man for them?
And the effects of this newly formed "Robin Gang" didn't stop there.
It's not a problem to have a group of superheroes or an individual teenage superhero, but it's a big problem to have a group of teenage superheroes.
In the past, when Batman fought criminals, they had nothing to say as they basically had no time to speak. Batman would jump down and hit them with a punch.
Apart from criminals on the scale of Bane, most of them would be knocked down with one punch and wake up in either the Gotham Police Department or the Arkham Insane Asylum.
But these teenage superheroes not only liked to fight, they also talked a lot. Unlike Batman, they didn't directly punch the criminals and then throw them into the police station in the name of justice.
The rush to criminals' face part was similar, but their exuberant thirst for knowledge and strong self-esteem made these teenagers feel obligated to explain their stance to the criminals, at the same time they also needed to adhere to humanitarian spirit and allow the criminals to explain their own stances.
Gotham belonged to New Jersey State, and New Jersey was a solid deep-blue state, the ground of the Democratic Party, advocating neoliberalism and believing free speech was the cornerstone of democracy.
Therefore, after these Robins caught the criminals, they wouldn't beat them first. Instead, they would tie up the criminals and have debates. The theme of the debate was why you are wrong, why I am right, how you are wrong, and how I am right.
Those youngsters who could be recognized by Dick and Tim were all ambitious people with some knowledge. Because of the miserable situation of Gotham's lower class disclosed by Jason, many Gothamites felt deeply about it. Most of the youngsters who chose to join the Robin Gang were from the lower class.
As for the level of street arguing skills by this group, well, if they were born a few years earlier, the title of the first great white English rap artist in history might not belong to Eminem, instead of Batman using up a week's worth of talking quota, even if he used up his whole lifetime, he still wouldn't be able to out-argue any of them.
An enlightened, impassioned, and articulate young hero can already be a nightmare for any criminal, even more so when there is a whole group of them.
Gotham's criminals have been feeling a buzzing sensation in their heads for the past few days, their heads filled with notions of order, axioms, justice, morality. If Gotham had civil service exams, their scores could easily rise by 20 points within three days.
What's more terrifying is that the principles championed by the new Robins in the Robin Gang do not fully agree with each other, resulting in slight differences in their theories.
At first, they debated with criminals together, but later on, they often ended up arguing amongst themselves in the middle of debates. But considering that they all fall under the lawful alignment, they decided it would be best to avoid infighting and elected to debate with criminals one at a time.
As a result, it was quite common for a criminal to be caught at 8 AM, released at 10 AM after a debate, caught again at 10:30 AM, released at noon after another debate, then caught at 1 PM and released at 4 PM after the third debate of the day.
Questioning Batman, understanding Batman, praising Batman, yearning for Batman.
Now, the only thought in the minds of these criminals is: "Bruce Wayne, you better stop thinking about being the President and come back to nab me pronto!"
I plead guilty, I accept the law, I want to go stay in the Batcave!
As it turned out, the name Robin is indeed quite pleasing to the ear, with a fairly auspicious implication. However, when it comes to reforming criminals and cleansing souls, crows are more effective. Aside from whether or not they sound good, just consider how loud they are.
The gang of black-clad Robins certainly had sufficiently loud voices. Upon dealing with his presidential duties and returning home, Bruce was practically knocked off his feet by the noise.
After all, upon his return, he found that the public broadcast systems, public screen control systems, street billboards, and neon signs he had set up throughout the city were all continuously looping a single message.
If one were to seek a refined translation, it'd be something like: "Gotham is ablaze, even the Chief loves me; bombs never hit the ground, Gotham looks even prettier; a canister of poison gas on my back, spending Christmas in jail; self-proclaimed black boss, Batman will pay you a visit."
Batman didn't mind Gotham having more heroic guardians, but still, teenagers really shouldn't take up positions of responsibility too early. Ever since they spontaneously began maintaining order in Gotham, the mental states of Gothamites have become even more spiraling.
Although returning to over 600 missed calls from various supervillains on his private communications sure baffled Batman, but he shouldn't be too baffled just yet, because that's not what threw him off the most.
Clark was looking for Bruce, which isn't surprising. He knew that this sunny and enthusiastic Metropolis citizen would come to congratulate him on his presidency as soon as he could. And Clark indeed did just that.
However, what followed was Clark expressing that the tragic state of Gotham's street children as described by Jason had deeply moved him. He agreed with Jason, saying, "No practice, no opinion." As one of the few just journalists, he felt obliged to reveal the truth.
In short, he's planning on staying in the Gotham slum for a month.
It's really as the saying goes, "If one will allow himself to preach, then another will allow himself to be converted," Bruce thought.
Nevertheless, looking into the firm light of determination in Clark's eyes, Bruce knew he wouldn't be able to discourage him. However, he also knew that upon witnessing certain tragic scenes, an overstimulated Clark might adopt some extreme measures to punish criminals. Therefore, he advised Robin to keep tabs on Clark.
From now, Bruce can only come back to resolve things regarding Wayne Enterprises, he will have to head back to Washington soon.
Robin is currently accompanying Barbara, as she is planning to confess to her father, James Gordon. Hence, he had delegated this task to Nightwing.
However, Nightwing's headquarters are in Blüdhaven, having been held up here for so long, it's time for him to head back. Thus, he assigned the task to Jason.
Jason, wanting to work off the frustration from the previous night, was busy arresting Peter Parker throughout Gotham. He thought for a bit and decided to hand this issue over to the Robin Gang.
The favourite Robin among these newly arrived birds is Jason. They haven't been rehabilitated for long and essentially still follow their old street-smart ways. Jason hurried off without explaining things in detail to them, leading to the Robins completely misunderstanding his intentions.
They immediately patted their chests declaring, "A journalist from Metropolis, huh? Wait till you set foot in Gotham's streets, then we'll see you eat your words!"
An undercover investigation, huh? Go ahead, we will make each investigation speechless.
