"What kind of civilization is Spartacus?"
Leaning in her spaceship seat, Gamora curiously looked at Quill in the pilot's seat and asked. He then explained, "I don't often come to the Milky Way. I've only heard Thanos and his subordinates discuss Asgard and Earth."
"Asgard is indeed one of the most famous civilizations in the Milky Way," Quill said as he piloted the spaceship. "The Milky Way is in a remote location in the cosmos and is not considered a large galaxy. Even in the entire Virgo Supercluster, no notable civilizations have emerged. To the Three Great Empires, this place is a civilization desert."
"However, highly developed interstellar civilizations are rare. Just within the Milky Way, Spartacus is considered more developed. They possess mature cosmic navigation technology, rule over a not small Star Zone, and have more than two hundred resource stars. Near their main star, there are over two thousand docking points."
"Spartacus has always been a monarchy, led by the Spartacus Royal Family. They unify military power, political rule, and religious authority. They haven't experienced any ethnic replacements or civilizational extinctions in their history, which makes them quite a fortunate civilization."
"The only turmoil occurred shortly after my birth. Royals there experienced an internal strife, and the rightful heir, Jason Spartacus, was driven out of the kingdom, stranded on Earth, and after union with my mother, they had me."
Quill tsked softly and said, "I followed clues that I had gathered over the years and found the culprit who killed my mother. It was my uncle Gars, who wanted to rebel at that time. After I found some clues, I told Spartacus's then-king, who happens to be my biological father, Jason Spartacus."
"Together, we thwarted Gars's plot. Afterwards, he asked me to stay as his heir and inherit the throne, but I refused because I do not enjoy ruling over others."
The Rocket Raccoon quietly sat in the back seat, listening to Quill narrate all of this and not giving opinions like usual. Thus, Quill looked back at him, perplexed.
Rocket Raccoon shook his head, signaling not to mind him. Obviously, he was communicating with Venom in his mind, and from Venom, he roughly understood the dangers that lay ahead.
The spaceship quickly arrived within the defense range of the Spartacus planet. Immediately, an escort ship signaled to ask why the strange spaceship wanted to enter their territory.
"I am Peter Quill. I'd like to communicate with my father."
Quill spoke very succinctly.
The guards on the escort ship did not actually recognize him, but their superiors were members of the Royal Guard who were familiar with this wandering prince. Therefore, they let Quill in.
Quill drove all the way to the main star of Spartacus. On the way, the Guardians of the Galaxy noticed that this civilization was very similar to human civilization, except for their slightly different attire and dress.
After landing at the main Star Port, the royal guards led them all the way to the palace and asked them to wait briefly in the waiting room.
They were soon taken to the reception room where they met the king of the Spartacus Empire, a stern man with a full beard, wearing a purple robe and a gray-brown cloak.
He walked forward and embraced Quill gently. Just as Quill was about to speak, Jason said first, "You have finally returned, my child. The Spartacus civilization is currently holding a celebration to commemorate our tenth anniversary of joining the Galactic Congress."
Quill didn't bother with formalities; he took the letter from his bosom, which gave Jason a clue about what Quill was asking.
"Yes, my child, it was about eleven years ago. You were probably still a child. I had commissioned the interstellar Pirate Yondu to search for you, and I entrusted my handwritten letter to him."
"So, you knew I was alive eleven years ago?" Quill stared intensely at Jason and asked, "How did you know?"
Everyone understood his question. Initially, Peter Quill was born on Earth when Jason Spartacus had already left. He didn't know about the existence of this child.
The only Spartacus star people who knew about Peter Quill's existence were the aliens who had killed Peter Quill's mother. They had seen the child.
So if Jason knew about Peter Quill's existence eleven years ago, he must have learned from the murderer or someone related to the murderer. Then he must have known about the murder case.
Yet, the real mastermind, Gars, lived for another eleven years until Quill came to kill him.
Jason Spartacus had already secured the throne after returning to the Spartacus star. Was a few years of settling not enough to deal with a prince? Since he had already known the truth and his wife was murdered, and his child was displaced, why did he not take action sooner?
"You made a choice." Quill's look turned cold. He stared into Jason's eyes and said, "Eleven years ago, you hired Yondu, intending to find me, and wrote me a letter. At that time, you were probably already prepared to kill Gars."
"But some things made you change your mind, so you recalled the command and had Yondu keep an eye on me. That's why I was picked up by him after my spaceship incident."
"Tell me, Jason, what made you make such a ruthless decision?" Quill clenched his fist, "Ignoring your wife's death, ignoring your child's helplessness, choosing to stand on the side of the murderer."
Jason's face was also very gloomy, he lowered his voice and said, "I have reasons for having to do this, I am a king."
Quill scoffed, he raised his arm, turned around and blinked hard, smacking his lips: "You're throwing around the big principle that you must first be responsible for your subjects, right?"
Then he turned back, suppressing his anger, and looked at Jason: "You can indeed choose between the state and family, but once you do, don't think about regretting it. Hedging your bets is cowardly, and deception is despicable!"
"You want to be responsible for the Spartacus Empire and also want to get family warmth from me. Has anyone told you? You're disgustingly greedy."
"Enough." Jason's gaze also cooled, he said, "I'm protecting you, Peter, you don't understand anything."
"Since he doesn't understand anything, you should tell him." Gamora stood up and looked at Jason and said, "Instead of rambling around here and wasting our time."
"I don't understand why you gave up searching for Peter initially. What made you change your mind?" Gamora continued to question.
Jason looked gloomy and remained silent for a while, but eventually said, "He has human blood in him, at that time the Spartacus Empire wanted to join the Galactic Congress."
They all looked at each other, not understanding the connection, until Rocket spoke up.
"The Galactic Council has always implemented a blockade policy on the Earth and human civilization, simply put, it does not allow humans to conduct any extra-terrestrial communication, even if it is resisting alien invasion or passive defense."
"They believe that humans are a very dangerous race, and some individuals among them are too powerful and uncontrollable. They should be completely sealed within the planet, otherwise, they will definitely destroy the entire Milky Way. All civilizations that join the Galactic Council must agree to the blockade policy on Earth."
Upon hearing Rocket Raccoon's words, the other members of the Guardians of the Galaxy were all stunned. Gamora opened her mouth wide and said, "Let's not talk about the logic behind this, they didn't successfully block it, right? Humans are now everywhere in the Universe, aren't they?"
"Hmm..." Rocket Racoon murmured, "The humans able to leave Earth obviously cannot be sealed by them, such as mutants. The people in the Galactic Council have visited the Andromeda galaxy, but none have returned so far."
"In recent news reports, they claim that mutants are not part of humanity, and whether the blockade measure is applicable to them is temporarily doubtful."
Gamora ended up laughing out of frustration: "There's an ability to leave Earth, and they can't block them, so the ones they've sealed are the humans on Earth. But does the humans on Earth require their blockage? Humans are not even an interstellar civilization, they have not yet stepped out of their mother star."
"Also, claiming mutants aren't part of humanity because they left Earth and the Galactic Council couldn't block them and were thus expelled from humanity, so when ordinary humans are also capable of leaving Earth and the Galactic Council can't block them either, does that mean ordinary humans will also not be considered human?"
"When all humans have the capability to leave Earth, humanity will become extinct, and there will be no humans left throughout the Universe."
"Forgive me for my bluntness, they should check if their brains are fried." Gamora tapped her temples and said, "That's the most idiotic and absurd policy I've ever heard."
Jason revealed an awkward expression on his face, he wanted to explain that, during the era when this policy was made, humans were not so strong.
A little over ten years ago, there were indeed some strong humans active in the universe, but the number was very small, not even noticeable in the Milky Way, let alone scattered into interstellar society.
The overall level of human civilization was even lower, with numerous countries split within a small Earth, constantly fighting each other, it seemed as though it would take another ten thousand years before they could enter the interstellar colonization era.
But who knew that in recent years, humans have been like a cheat code being activated. Firstly, the mutants almost completely separated themselves, staking out a piece of land in the Andromeda galaxy, and began the construction and development.
Normally, this completely violates the rule of development, but unfortunately, the rule-enforcing Galactic Council couldn't defeat the mutants. They couldn't even beat a single Magneto, and once Professor X arrived, they dares not even approach them anymore.
Soon after, for some unknown reason, Asgard wanted to return to interstellar society. Seeing their efforts, the Three Great Empires give them face. Asgard defended humanity staunchly, even if they vocalized against human civilization, they would need to look at the Divine King's face.
The result was to make the Galactic council very awkward. This policy, originally against human civilization, is now just a rallying cry they'd use to unite civilizations within the Milky Way and consolidate power.
But as everyone knows, a slogan without extremism lacks appeal. Over the years, the slogan of blockading Earth has become louder and more extreme. It's got to a point where any civilization that has dealings with humans will immediately become a target of enmity within the Galactic Council.
Eleven years ago, when the Spartacus Empire was actively looking to join the Galactic Congress, Jason Spartacus, the king of the Spartacus Empire, gave up on bringing back Peter Quill, who had human blood in him for this reason.
