Chapter 2771 - Chapter 1963 U: Beyond Big Events (52)_1

The atmosphere in the screening room was eerily quiet.

Although all the spectators were temporarily silent, their moods were clearly not the same. Lord Superman and Spider-Man were practically dumbfounded.

Lord Superman was just a bit more violent compared to other Supermans, or you could say that other Supermans could be considered hypocritical, while Lord Superman was just a little more normal.

But the world of mental illness was too advanced for him.

It must be noted that in the universe where Lord Superman resides, Gotham was not dark, and the brightness of Gotham in this universe was among the top in all universes.

Perhaps because of this, Batman in this universe - also known as the Gray Bat - was gentle in both temper and approach, a rarity among bats.

In general, the universe where Lord Superman resides leaned towards positivity and straightforwardness, and everyone was reasonable.

Therefore, he might not understand the world of mental illness more than other Supermans because his way of dealing with them was to fry their brains, or more accurately, fry a certain part of their brains, turning them into imbeciles.

This was why he never really understood the madmen in Arkham Asylum, nor did he understand what kind of feud Batman had with them. He'd never seen it for himself.

So everything happening on the screen gave him a huge shock. He suddenly realized that the bat in his home was an abnormally rare normal bat, and most Batmen were mentally ill.

Yes, Lord Superman realized that probably all the bats he knew were abnormal, each in their own abnormal way, all crazily flamboyant.

Lord Superman initially saw Bruce, then he realized Bruce's parents hadn't died, but he hadn't turned into a knowledgeable, wise, and healthy young man as Lord Superman had anticipated, rather he had turned into a hooligan, maybe even a mad teenager.

Then he saw Beihan and the Batman of the Prime Universe on the screen.

Beihan looked human too, young, healthy, vibrant, seeming to be in a state between Bruce and Batman. Lord Superman thought this should be the healthiest state.

He wouldn't develop into the Gray Bat with his secretive character who was always one step ahead but never communicated with his teammates, nor would he turn into Bruce, a punk teenager who was too unrestrained.

But now it turned out that the seemingly bright and cheerful Beihan also went crazy, uttering cryptic words with the reflection in the mirror and then suddenly going berserk.

He not only woke up from the dream but tore the Killer Devil with his bare hands, smashing his head with his fist. Who was the real Killer Devil?!

The people present could not see the illusions occurring in Beihan's mind; they could only see the external scenes.

From the spectators' point of view, the whole incident probably looked like this.

The narration and inference of Batman and Shiller were very clear. The ability of the Killer Devil in this stage was to pull people into dreams.

But due to the limitations of the rules or his own abilities, he couldn't directly kill the duelists in the dream. Looking at his goblin-like skinny physique in reality, he definitely couldn't fight these rugged human beings.

So the Killer Devil thought of a way to pull these people into a dream, but by affecting their subconscious minds, he controlled their bodies to move forward.

At the same time, he opened the car door and had the car speeding all the way. Thus, by enticing through the dream, he could make the participants jump out of the car unknowingly, leading to an outcome of either death or injury.

But because this was a dream, and one of the duelists, namely Shiller, was extraordinarily mentally ill - a person with a slightly fantastic split personality disorder.

Since the dream world and the consciousness space were equal, some dark personalities in Shiller's consciousness space ran into the dream world, becoming an existence more terrifying than the ghosts set up by the Killer Devil.

They had various characteristics, and once stimulated, their behaviors would suffer brutal attacks.

So according to common sense, wouldn't the personality of Shiller, a participant, and the ghost released by the Killer Devil become two opposing sides, then Shiller's personality kills the ghost of the Killer Devil, while others look for clues in the hospital, thereby leaving the dream world?

But the subsequent development of events was like a runaway horse.

For some unknown reason, the insane personalities of Shiller were indiscriminately attacking, and for some reason, these personalities seemed to target their own teammates, one chasing Batman and Natasha, one driving a wedge between Beihan and Shiller.

That would have been fine, but the subsequent development of events got more and more absurd.

Somehow, one of Shiller's personalities injured Batman and Natasha and made their wounds continuously worsen, forcing Batman to self-mutilate and bleed to narrowly escape.

Another one was even more absurd. For some unknown reason, he suddenly appeared in front of Beihan and was able to partially materialize and press Beihan to the ground, tearing off half of his face by hand, splattering blood all over the room and Beihan, the screams could penetrate the entire building.

The most absurd part, which most of the spectators couldn't understand, came.

Beihan, who seemed normal before, did not know what went wrong with him after his face was torn off. When he saw Shiller in a suit in the mirror, he didn't run, and the two even started chatting.

Although it was not the same personality, one of the personalities had just attacked you violently and even skinned you, and the next second you two were chatting in front of the mirror?! Was this reasonable?!

Lord Superman was left with a bunch of question marks watching this.

You've just been seriously wounded by a Shiller, and you're in so much pain you could almost roll on the ground. Yet, when he reappears, instead of giving the glass a punch, you start chatting.

You were happily gabbing away when this Shiller started a fight. At that moment, Lord Superman really wanted to dash into the screen and ask Beihan if he was even awake or if he remembered that the wound Shiller had just inflicted was fresh?!

From a spectator's perspective, all of Shiller's personalities look alike. Though some are young and some are old, it's hard to tell for sure due to the glass reflection, it looks like the same person.

So from Lord Superman's point of view, one moment someone's skinning you alive, the next moment you're happily chatting away. Isn't that mad?

Then the most outrageous thing happened.

The reflection of this Shiller whispered something into Beihan's ear, and Beihan suddenly went berserk. He let out a big roar, and charged at the air in front of him.

Unfortunately, he woke up at that exact moment as he was seated up front and was the first to walk out, and the killer devil happened to be standing right in front of Beihan.

Without even pausing for a second or trying to recall the situation, Beihan saw the killer devil as if he saw his father's killer and aggressively tore his head apart without a shred of hesitation.

The weirdest thing was, after Beihan smashed the killer devil's brain with his fist, he seemed relieved.

Apart from Bruce, no one amongst the spectators understood what exactly he was relieved about.

Then Shiller inexplicably walked over.

Lord Superman thought, even if you couldn't hit him in the dream, at least you're back in the real world now; shouldn't you punch him?

But instead, Beihan and Shiller hugged each other.

Batman and Natasha, too, were duped by Shiller's persona in the dream. Yet, they did not stand up for justice or condemn Shiller's betrayal of his team.

They both sat down and fell asleep again.

Lord Superman watched with utter confusion from start to finish. If this were a movie, Lord Superman would give them a high score of 0.1.

Where are common sense, logic, and cause-effect relationship?!

If Lord Superman is incomprehensible, Spider-Man is even more bewildered. He was already struggling to tell who was who, finally managed to distinguish the four competitors, only to see many identical looking Shillers appearing.

One minute a Shiller appears before Batman, the next another Shiller appears before another Batman. One moment a Shiller talks to someone, another moment a different Shiller talks to someone else.

Spider-Man is the kind of cheerful white boy who would rush towards an airplane taking off, but this movie made him confused.

And for Constantine, it's more than just confusion. Since the moment he appeared in the field, he fell asleep, refusing to listen, watch, or think, so that he wouldn't catch a mental illness through brainwaves.

The only ones from the lot who understood something are Bruce and Arthur.

On one hand, they are Batman and Joker, who are quite familiar with this kind of absurd dialogue. On the other, they are pure Gothamites.

Gothamites, the very flag bearers of Stars and Stripes, with a little knowledge of philosophy and theology would not be shy to greet others. They are the best at understanding such metaphors, boasting that they may lack in rationality but make up for it in literary qualities, they may lack in manners but make up for it in artistic qualities.

"Now, I'm going to announce the betting results. Regrettably, everyone, none of you has won."

A huge image of Beihan appeared on the screen, Owen waved his hand and said, "The first person to wake up is this Batman, and none of you betted on him. Therefore, all betting points are deducted."

"Hold on." Lord Superman raised a hand and looked at Owen, "You can't just give us a result. We need the process and the reasons."

"But gambling inherently is only looking at..."

"We're not refusing to settle our accounts, Mr. Host, but you should at least let us know how we lost right?" Spider-Man chimed in: "I feel that there is definitely something very important missing in this incident. You must have skipped something, not letting us see the important scenes that drive the plot."

"Although we bet before the match started, and it does not affect the result, you can't make us lose without knowing why. Otherwise, what's the point of us being here?"

Owen looked somewhat embarrassed, and Constantine clearing his throat said, "If I may, it seems to me that you made the scene too grand. You focused on the exterior and overlooked the internal monologues. If you were a director, you would definitely produce a bunch of terrible movies with just large scenes."

"Hey! How can you... "

"Enough of your crap." Lord Superman frowned, "Play it again from the beginning and shoot from every competitor's perspective."

"I also think you should adjust the perspective and replay it for us. At least let us get our money's worth." Bruce curled his lips and spoke to Owen, "Otherwise, I'll go and tell everyone that watching here is a complete waste of time, and you'll have no fun."

Owen was taken aback.
