"Are these all captured aliens?" Mr. Freeze was still examining the jars on the shelf, asking: "How do they control these monsters? Don't tell me they can't differentiate friend from foe."
"Mind control or brainwashing maybe," chuckled Professor Phosphorus, his body glowing green, "go find Hugo, or, worst case scenario, that little guy."
"They conquer the cosmos with this stuff? Isn't that a bit rash?" Poison Ivy frowned, looking at the contents of the jars and said, "Creatures controlled by the mind clearly won't be very intelligent. These mechanical devices look like they've been installed forcefully, and their physical strength surely must be average too."
"But they have the numbers." Professor Pig turned to look at the jars in a warehouse, saying, "There are at least tens of thousands of modified creatures in each unit here, probably hundreds of millions of creatures in total, and they are staying in ships. This could just be a small percentage, there must be more in their base."
"Real investment. Get someone here, let's take these creatures back first, see if we can reuse some of them."
A few dozen escort ships sound like a lot, but in Gotham, each madman gets at least two famous freaks per battleship.
Weiman under Darkseid's command is not high-ranking, his subordinates are even lower, Savage Wolf is currently absent, and the guards can't build a defensive line. They are soon defeated one by one, with no time to report back to headquarters.
"Did Savage Wolf go to find Batman?" Mr. Freeze who returned to the control room heard the Riddler interrogating Harely and the others.
Harely didn't mind his desperate tone. She'd long noticed that in Gotham there were only diehard Batman fans and more extreme diehard Batman fans, so when they heard that their idol might be in danger, how could they ignore it?
Poison Ivy also quickens her pace, pushing the Riddler out of the way, and asked Harley: "Who is Savage Wolf? Is he strong?"
Harely was also somewhat unsure, but at that moment, two words appeared on the Necronomicon: "Very strong."
Harely didn't think much of it, but Helen shrank her pupils. She knew that behind the Necronomicon was Shiller; and if Shiller assessed someone as strong, then even Batman might be in danger. So she immediately spoke out.
"We have to help Batman!"
The situation on Earth indeed did not look good. Savage Wolf had already started fighting with the just-forming Super Seven.
Objectively, Savage Wolf's power is rather orthodox. As part of the New God Race, super strength, super speed, super stamina, etc., are his basic abilities. He holds a giant axe and his proudest achievement was fighting the entire Justice League by himself in a movie.
Although the movie weakened the Justice League due to budgeting reasons, at this moment, the Prime Universe's Justice League hasn't even formed yet. Cyborg only appeared after Darkseid's invasion, and he's nowhere to be seen at this point. Aquaman, not adept at fighting on land, can only act as support. Superman and Wonder Woman, the two greatest warriors, have not yet gelled as a team, resulting in their cooperation being rather awkward. Hal remained at base, monitoring Darkseid's movements.
The only consolation was that Batman had timely vanished once again. Savage Wolf, who had pursued him, didn't even spot his shadow.
A 'clang' echoed as smoke scattered. Wonder Woman picked herself up, staring at the figure donning a long-horned helmet, wielding a giant axe. They were currently hovering above Gotham Maze. Luckily this place was barren, allowing Superman to go all-out.
A red cloak swept past Wolf from behind, his eyes flashed cold, and his electric axe followed swiftly. Superman blocked it with one arm, then landed a punch on his face.
Savage Wolf tried to dodge, but Wonder Woman arrived with a flurry of punches to his back, immediately followed by a wrestling back throw. Flying out, Savage Wolf swung his giant axe in mid-air, brushing a scrapped vehicle, then flipped backwards, landing firmly on the ground.
The reason their fight had carried on this long was that no one could break the others' defense. Savage Wolf's smart tactic was to constantly go for Wonder Woman, not engaging Superman at all. If Superman tried to attack, he'd dodge, and if he couldn't dodge, he'd move toward Wonder Woman. Since Superman and Diana had no rapport right now, Superman didn't dare to gamble on whether Diana could dodge his attack, which led him to restrict himself, not going all out.
Superman was not without temper either. Having been fighting for half a day, never even laying a hand on Savage Wolf, he took off into the air intending to give him a tough punch, when out of the shadows of a building, a dark figure stepped out.
"Enough, Savage Wolf, I know you don't want to fight." Batman stepped out from the shadows, Savage Wolf swiftly turned his head to find Wonder Woman taking advantage of the situation to punch him.
Savage Wolf was sent flying, but he landed fairly steadily. He let out a cold snort, wiping the blood from his mouth with his palm, just as Batman took a firm step forward. However, Superman intercepted him.
Batman subtly shook his head at Superman and stepped around him to confront Savage Wolf, "You do not want Darkseid to recruit me, and you particularly do not want Weiman to recruit me either, as you and Weiman aren't on the same side. Once he becomes stronger, you will be even more powerless."
Savage Wolf only coldly stared at Batman.
"But you dare not kill me, because Darkseid wants me alive. He covets something I possess, and also the wisdom I wield to obtain it. So, you pretend you have to kill me, but in reality, you're here to forewarn me about Weiman's scheme."
"If my guess is correct, he was planning to kidnap my direct descendant to blackmail me into surrender, but his plan has already failed."
"Savage Wolf, I know your relationship with Darkseid also…"
"Silence, Batman!" Savage Wolf raised his axe to point at Batman, "If you want me to let you go, you must show your abilities. I'd like to see why Darkseid issued his first-ever live capture order…"
Suddenly, Savage Wolf's facial expression changed. At the same time, the gale that suddenly blew up on the flat ground made Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman involuntarily turn their heads.
The massive spaceship emerged from the layers of sunset clouds exposing a dominating, powerful fleet arriving on Earth.
Amazement, screams, panic—Batman instantly clenched his fist.
"What's happening?! Hal?! How can there be a fleet…"
"I don't know!! They were still on the edge of the Milky Way just now…"
"…Weiman is coming!" Savage Wolf took a step forward, then turned around to look at Batman, "If you can go, you should go quickly. He might want to kill you."
"It's too late!!!"
Superman saw a huge mass of energy being compressed to the extreme at the muzzle of a weapon, he and Wonder Woman immediately moved in front of Batman, ready to take on the impact.
The very next second, the massive muzzle turned towards… Savage Wolf???
