Chapter 2489 - Chapter 1730: Bruce Wayne and the Prisoner of the Batcave (Part 12) _1

When Little Bruce appeared in front of Robin and the others, they were extremely shocked. Harley quickly explained to them, "This is Bruce Wayne from another world. Well, he's still young and not yet Batman, but he does have the potential."

Nightwing walked over and gently patted Little Bruce's head, then looked at his pale face with concern and asked, "What's up with him? He isn't injured, is he?"

When the Joker came in, Nightwing immediately retreated a few steps, shielding Little Bruce behind him. Just as he was about to interrogate the Joker about whether he had abused Little Bruce, Harley interjected from behind, "He invited his own trouble by responding to the Outer God. As a result, his brain was eroded by the forbidden knowledge. Now he can't even speak clearly."

Little Bruce, ignoring Harley's mocking tone, instinctively wandered over to Harley's side, picked up the printed papers from the table, and began reading them eagerly.

"Guess what he will morph into?" The Joker laughed, "I'm really looking forward to the outcome of this incubation."

No one paid him any attention anymore, especially as another round of data came in from the parallel universe, even more unbelievable this time.

In response to Reed's speculation, several top scientists began researching the possibility of this being an alloy. However, they first required the cooperation of the parallel universe to conduct a series of detection experiments.

Apart from Harley, who was working as a fax machine, Little Bruce who was absorbing knowledge, and the Joker who was sitting in the corner observing, both Robin teams were fully engaged in various experiments. They collected samples, recorded data, analyzed data, transferred data, then continued the experiments as per the requests from the other side. Then they consolidated the data, drawing conclusions.

This single step took an uninterrupted three days, with around-the-clock shifts. The number of test reports generated was monumental.

However, Reed and other top scientists indeed obtained the results they wanted. The segregation property and layout differences reflected in the molecular structures during material testing confirmed that Reed's assumptions were very likely accurate.

Therefore, they could conduct a series of conduction experiments based on the properties of this material, find a way to best stimulate all the properties, and analyze their practical significance.

After a series of experiments involving magic energy infusion, rune etching, and other methods, most scientists discovered that most activation methods did not make any significant changes to the material properties.

"Could the greatest property of this material be its anti-gravity, magic absorption, and radiation creation?" Bruce Banner frowned as he looked at a bunch of data on the big screen, "We conducted so many tests, but couldn't find any other uses."

"To be honest, it's already staggering enough as it stands," Spider-Man said with hands on his hips. "Just the anti-gravity alone gives it a huge advantage. Is it really supposed to have another special effect?"

However, the three acknowledged geniuses in the conference room, namely Reed, Doctor Doom, and Tony Stark, held different views.

"The more it appears this way, the more I believe there must be something behind the darkness," Reed's tone became unusually gentle, as if hit by an inspiration, "Something is hidden behind the stable darkness, and requires specific conditions to activate, it must be…it must be…"

"Certainly related to their goals," Stark continued, his face distressed. Obviously, he was exhausting his inspiration to make judgements: "They won't attack this city without good reason. Their doing so means that the city must be affected. But it's not just about inciting madness among the people, there might also be…"

"…Utilizing madness," Doom's tone was still gloomy, but he spoke in fits and starts, not as logical as he usually was. He sounded like he was narrating a mythology, "They intend to drive something mad with madness, then make him…make him…"

Doom couldn't go on either, a long silence hung in the conference room. Even the inspirations of the earth's three greatest geniuses could only guess up to this point. The information they had was too limited, and even this progress felt like a subjective judgement detached from reality.

All three men felt immense pain, because they knew they were so close to the truth. They were just lacking that final spark of inspiration.

Just when they were stuck, there was a sudden change on their computer screens. Little Bruce, who had been voraciously reading and catching up with the progress of the experiment for several hours, suddenly jumped up in a frenzy.

He barreled past Jason, who was sitting at the experiment table, and Red Robin standing next to him, and rushed towards the sample in the table chamber: a small piece of a metal window frame.

Little Bruce stretched out his hand and smashed the chamber open with a strength he shouldn't have possessed. He picked up a shard and sliced his palm.

Blood gushed out instantly, dripping onto the sample. Everyone else rushed forward, but Little Bruce turned his fierce blue eyes towards Constantine.

Constantine was startled. He didn't hear Little Bruce say anything, but he was convinced that Little Bruce was urging him to initiate his magic vision.

Feeling a lurking horror, Constantine switched on his magic vision without hesitation. He immediately shouted at everyone, "Nobody move! It's glowing!"

Little Bruce let out a painful groan, sat down leaning against the experiment table, and seemed to lose consciousness. Constantine quickly bestowed the gift of magic vision on everyone.

All the personnel in the S.H.I.E.L.D. conference room watched the amazing surprise. When their magic vision kicked in, they saw endless darkness.

This was a type of light – yet it was darkness. They could feel the darkness radiating like light, but what radiated out was complete and absolute darkness, much like a shattered black hole.

"Door..."

Little Bruce mumbled a word, and Red Robin quickly knelt down to hold him. Then he heard Little Bruce whisper another word into his ear: "Key..."

The final inspiration arrived.

Stark yelled, "Someone wants to open a door in Gotham—Batman is the key!!!"

After Harley repeated this, Joker was the first one to scream. As if he had felt something, he scratched his face with his pale fingers and said, "No! No! Damn! Those stupid, dirty...How dare they... they don't understand at all..."

Then he spoke in an extremely ferocious tone, "Batman's darkness is not a tool given by people!!! They should all die! They should all die!!!!!"

Red Robin was staggered by this string of surprises, he didn't have time to react. Little Bruce in his arms struggled free from him with astonishing strength and jumped back onto the stage, clutching the metal fragment with his bleeding hand.

Little Bruce looked down at it.

At that moment, his extraordinary magic vision filled with forbidden knowledge, the keen hearing from the chaotic and terrible whispers in his brain, and the noble sensitivity provided by his old mark, merged into one——

He looked down, staring at the abyss.

The next moment, Little Bruce's sight was enveloped by an endless darkness. He felt his consciousness travel through time and space, finally pierce through the solid surface that ordinary people couldn't, and fall into the abyss.

And when he opened his eyes again in the dense darkness with no light, he saw... a giant dragon.

"Foolish." In front of the screen, Strange gazed at Little Bruce's actions and commented, "That darkness clearly comes from a creature far beyond his level. It's no joke that gods can't be stared at directly. Most of the time when you see a god, you've already been marked by it."

But at this moment, Shiller showed a smile. Everyone's gaze shifted to him again, and Strange suddenly felt a familiar feeling. So he glared at Shiller and said, "Not you again..."

"Just letting them fall into their own trap. " Shiller stood up and stretched, then found that his suit was hindering him. Strange raised an eyebrow, scrutinized him, and exclaimed, "Greed?"

Shiller nodded, yawned, and then said, "It took me some time to go, um, the literary way is to stare into the abyss, but a better way to understand is to update the version."

Shiller sat back down, glanced at Bruce, and then said, "I think you should remember, Arrogant merged with the Joker, or rather there was only one Arrogant, which was split and then reunited."

Bruce nodded his head, indicating that he still remembered this experience, and Greed continued to say, "This is not entirely bad. The mad wisdom from the Joker endowed him with Gotham's darkness. This is his adaptation to a version update of this universe, he has already completed it."

"So you've just updated recently?" Strange asked doubtfully, "So what did you update?"

"Remember the genius inspiration and wisdom that Batman and Stark left for me? That allowed me to break through the constraints of autism and study the things I couldn't focus on before. That's what I've updated."

"So you're a science genius now?"

"The emphasis is on overcoming the limitations of autistic focus." Shiller shrugged lightly and said, "For a long time, I could only concentrate on studying knowledge in one field, and I had neither interest in nor could absorb other fields. But to some extent, this limitation has been broken somewhat."

"What did you learn? Mathematics and physics?" Strange asked.

"I studied...knowledge of the Outer Gods." Shiller showed a big smile.

Constantine almost spat out a mouthful of water. He opened his mouth and closed it again, and after a while he said, "I am truly honored that your first choice was mysticism, but frankly, it was unnecessary."

But Shiller was still smiling and said, "If I didn't study this, how could I give the perpetrator of Gotham's darkness a wake-up call?"

At this moment, in a completely dark space, just when the thick darkness was about to engulf Little Bruce, weird and terrifying whispers surrounded him, from the old marks left on him by Nyarlathotep.

The clash between the mark of the Outer God and the erosion of the power of darkness ended in a stalemate. As Nyarlathotep paid attention to this place, Little Bruce instinctively chanted the forbidden knowledge brought by the terrifying whispers. The whispers began to fill the entire space.

Accompanied by the increasing sound of whispers, a pair of giant closed pupils slowly opened, conveying complex emotions of doubt. The overall expression was — what's going on?!!
