Chapter 2486 - Chapter 1727: Bruce Wayne and the Prisoner of the Batcave (Part 9) _2

"The reason why I call it 'radiation' is because I don't really know what to call this thing in occultism that can affect the physical and mental state of those around it."

"Curse," Constantine and Zatanna said in unison.

"Is the curse here of an area-effect nature?" Strange glanced at Constantine and said, "Ours is targeted at a single entity; this type of area-effect phenomenon is called a Magic Field, not all of it is bad, there are also healing fields."

"Hold on!" Zatanna raised her voice and exclaimed, "The Curse of Evil!"

Constantine immediately turned to look at her. After Zatanna briefly relaid the rumors from the Magical Family, Pamela nodded and said, "If that's the case, it's possible, because according to our analysis, all the metals in Gotham affected by dark energy are uniquely woven into certain shapes to achieve maximum radiation range, and the radiation of one area corresponds to another, eventually enveloping the entire city in a huge field of power."

"That's strange." Strange frowned, "Building a magical position on our end is very difficult. Aside from requiring a massive amount of energy, it requires profound theoretical knowledge, exquisite building techniques, and constant maintenance after completion."

"The Earth's Magical Defense Network?" Constantine asked.

Strange nodded, although he didn't say anything more, everyone noticed some similarities. Clearly, the Earth's Magical Defense Network and the massive cursed power field enveloping Gotham have something in common.

Strange licked his lips, a hint of greed flashing in his eyes. He gently tapped his arm with the fingers of his crossed arms, then said, "Our research in the process of enchanting metals shows that not every metal affected by magical energy will change for the better. We have to see what properties the metal has. That requires infusing it with energy. I wonder if these kids could think of such an experimental method."

Harley's eyes shifted as she calmly said, "In that case, why don't we give it a bit of magical energy to see how it responds?"

"But where can we... Oh dear, Ivy, I knew it was right to drag you along. I recall you know how to use magic."

Poison Ivy stepped forward and gently shook her head, "My ability is only effective on plants and has very little impact on other things."

Looking carefully at Poison Ivy's face on the screen, Bruce was a bit surprised and raised an eyebrow. He turned to look at Pamela, who had clearly recognized another universe's version of herself, but she had no reaction.

"I think you're already beautiful enough," Bruce said diplomatically.

"Thank you, but I know clearly that if I dare to dress like this and appear in Professor Victor's office, he'll freeze me in ice for three days and three nights."

"Shiller would also shoot at you," Constantine rolled his eyes and said, "because the difference between you and broccoli isn't clear enough."

The screen showed the people in the Air Fortress Laboratory falling silent. It seemed everyone's thought process had hit a dead end. After all, you can't cook without rice. No one in the room had magic energy at their disposal, so how were they supposed to experiment?

But then there was a knock at the door. The Red Hood went over and opened it to find Jason, Tim, and Constantine standing outside.

"Oh, we've all converged here," Jason waved at Harley, who nodded back. Constantine looked a bit surprised to see Poison Ivy. "Have you seen the Swamp Creature lately? I called him before, but he didn't answer. I'm worried he might have lost control again."

"He's fine, he just went on a trip recently," Poison Ivy replied simply.

"This guy says he needs to hide in Gotham for a while to research a new form of utilizing the Runes of Divine Power, which will allow his debt to circulate again. I thought he'd get blown up running around town, so I let him stay at our base for some time."

Tim explained to his doppelgänger from another universe why Constantine had come here and at the same time gave him a meaningful look. The gist was "Squeeze all you can out of this bastard, and don't let him go until he's paid up on his rent."

Red Robin understood perfectly and nodded at him. He walked over to Constantine and gave a slight nod, saying, "We've heard much about you, Constantine. We're in a bit of a jam right now. If you can help, we might be able to help you out."

"Hey, nobody said anything to me about paying rent before I came over…"

Constantine's voice abruptly stopped, as if someone had choked him. He slowly opened his mouth wide because he felt something cylindrical pressed against his back.

Red Hood had come up behind him, his black gun held straight against Constantine's waist. "Get to work, or die," he said.

"It's an honor to be able to solve problems for you all!"

Ten minutes later, with a furrowed brow, Constantine looked at the piece of rebar placed on the table. His magic power had just dissipated. He looked around him and said, "Your conclusion is correct. This metal has indeed been affected by some kind of dark power. But without magic vision, you won't be able to see the path of the power. Even if you could, I'm not sure you'd understand. It's a completely new knowledge system, and it's quite complex."

The Robins of different sizes exchanged glances and shared unspoken grins of understanding. They hadn't forgotten how they were made to study profusely by Shiller and Bruce at the Forgotten Bookstore.

"Give us magic vision."

"I don't have enough energy..."

"I'll do it." Poison Ivy stepped forward. She extended her hand slightly and a few drops of emerald liquid appeared at the tips of her fingers. Under her guidance, the liquid flew towards the eyes of everyone present. Then her explained words appeared in her ears: "The so-called magic vision is actually a portion of their perspective you get after establishing a connection with transcendent beings. It will give you the perspective of a collective consciousness of certain plants."

Sure enough, when they opened their eyes again, the world was completely different.

This vision also followed Harley's optic nerve and transmitted into her brain. Then, it was seen by Wanda and everyone else in the office.

Nick suddenly stood up and waved to Coulson and Natasha, "Go! Gather all the researchers relevant to the enchanted metal topic, and contact the New York Temple to summon the Grand Mage!"

"Jarvis, lead Wanda to the main conference room and readjust the equipment there. In ten minutes, I want to see everyone present!"

Stark also walked out of the room briskly, talking to the other end of the communicator as he walked, "Pepper, I need to see Obadiah. Is he still in charge of the weapons research department? I hope that all the main researchers can be in position in ten minutes!"

The voices of Stark and Nick gradually merged together.

"We've seen a case where some kind of reproducible magic energy orderly influences the metal, creating a stable state. It's a huge barrier in advancing material science through magic."

"An unprecedented cross-universe academic symposium is about to begin. I don't want any genius on our side to miss out…"

"A further opportunity has arrived!"
