"You have no idea how annoying he is, boasting himself as the richest man in the Wayne family, even the wealthiest in the world." Harley ferociously sliced her fish steak with a knife and fork, pulverizing it before she sighed and said, "He's such an impolite little brat, if it was not in school, I would definitely show him."
"Don't get too upset. He's a child of the Wayne family. He might be Bruce Wayne's illegitimate son, who hasn't appeared in public for many years. Suddenly erupting and wanting to show off to the world that he's a Wayne, it's understandable."
Kane slowly separated the beans in his plate, glanced at the sight across the huge long table, and then said, "If this were a regular high society school for nobles, of course, people would flatter him. But this is a Magic Academy, what use is the Wayne family here?"
"What do you mean 'no use'? Don't forget that there's a school here named Wayne College." Harley snorted coldly and said, "Even though Bruce Wayne, the school dean, isn't here now, many students may be trying to stick with him because of his connection with the Wayne family."
"You're talking about those idiots behind him?" Kane raised his eyebrow and looked across the long table. There sat two strangers on the right side of little Bruce, who apparently didn't belong to Rodriguez College. From their collar styles, it was clear that they were students from Wayne College.
These two students were not that old, possibly around ten. Comparatively, Wayne, who looked eight or nine years old, seemed much younger. It might also be because of his cute appearance that he appeared less mature.
But it was evident that the older children were fawning over little Bruce, always looking for topics to talk with him about. Little Bruce responded arrogantly and nonchalantly, his gaze constantly roaming around Barry and other freshmen.
"It's not entirely true that social status has no influence in the Magical World." Miss Spencer said, "If it weren't for our family's wealth, how would we choose to study theory? Similarly, the backing of the Wayne family allows little Wayne to delve carelessly into the magical world."
"Moreover, mages are also humans, who will eventually return to normal society. Having a good relationship with Wayne will smooth things out in the regular world. Any wise person could see that, and there will not be a lack of people trying to please him."
Kane sighed and shook his head, "Frankly, with the upbringing of the Wayne family, it shouldn't have come to this. What happened?"
"I just asked him. His parents died about two years ago. Now only he and a butler remain in his family." Harley paused her cutting, but instantly continued and put the mashed fish meat into her mouth, "I guess, his enrollment may also be because he wants to find a way to resurrect his parents, but he himself knows that it would be difficult to succeed."
"I feel that his behavior is not very normal. If it results from a shock, then it makes sense." Miss Spencer raised her eyes to look at the situation and said, "I can only wish him good luck."
"You idiots chose your grade head without my approval. I wonder how much water your brains have gorged on. This fellow...what's your name? Never mind, Mr. Pauper, do you really think you are their savior?"
Little Bruce looked sarcastic and raised his chin, provocatively watching Barry. Barry pursed his lips and said while cutting the sausage on his plate, "I'm glad that you've positioned yourself as the Demon King right from the start. But I want to say that no one here is afraid of you, because you're all alone, while we are united."
"Hmm." Little Bruce lifted the corner of his mouth and squeezed out a few sneering laughs from his throat, "Idiots bound together are still idiots. Paupers claiming not to be afraid of me, that's the funniest thing I've heard this year!"
"No matter what you say, I am now the grade head. If you disobey me, I will send you to solitary confinement. Mr. Wayne, your protector is not in the school now."
"Who said he is my protector?!" Little Bruce immediately raised his voice until it sounded sharp, he practically yelled, "There is only one Bruce Wayne in this world, and that's me! Those impersonators are idiots like you, I will teach them a lesson sooner or later!"
Other children couldn't comprehend the situation, they just thought that this Bruce Wayne might be a close relative or an illegitimate child of Dean Wayne.
In Europe and America, it's common for an elder and a junior to share the same name. The younger one usually appends "little" before their name for distinction or alternatively, the elder one might be referred to as "old" following their name, depending on who is more famous.
Everyone currently referred to young Bruce Wayne as little Bruce, suggesting they didn't recognize him, otherwise, they should be calling Dean Wayne, old Bruce.
Little Bruce's behavior indeed seemed like an illegitimate child, neglected and therefore contending with his father, so no one took his words seriously.
However, as Miss Spencer mentioned, the Wayne family's prestige is too dominant. This world never lacks sycophants. Some people actually believe this arrogant and domineering attitude is grandeur, treating petulance as personality, impoliteness as attitude, and ignorance as humor.
