Chapter 2376 - Chapter 1640 - No Time to Die (Part 3)_2

"Didn't I tell you about the punk-themed article I submitted to the newspaper following Peter's suggestion? When it was published, the backlash wasn't too intense, and it didn't really make a splash. I didn't make much from it," she said.

"But today, a fan of a West Coast Rock Band posted my article on his twitter acct, insisting that I was insulting their drummer by referencing something he said at some point. He accused me of being a groupie who he'd rejected."

"Things spiraled out of control from there. This completely false tweet was reposted thousands of times, and now all of the band's fans are baying for my blood," she continued.

Gwen Spiderman was so livid that her eyes started to roll up into her head. Miles landed carefully, worried that any sudden movement might trigger Gwen Spiderman to explode right in front of him.

It was at that moment Gwen Spiderman's phone rang. After picking up the call, she frowned deeply, barely speaking a few words before a look of horror flashed across her face.

"A maniac has gone to Gwen's house!! Quick, we have to go!"

When Gwen Spiderman and Miles arrived at the Stacy's house, the police car escorting the maniac to the police station had already gone.

Chief George was left standing at the doorstep looking confused. He'd been worried about lackluster job performance lately, but this turn of events felt like catching a big fish by accident.

"Uh, I'm sorry, they probably came for me. The editor-in-chief of the newspaper I work with can't keep his mouth shut. I think he might have leaked some information to those crazed fans," Gwen Spiderman stammered out an apology.

"The man kept banging on the door shouting, 'You don't understand rock!' but I heard you're part of a rock band. Did you ever stop making music?" asked George.

"I-I became Spiderman and haven't got much time lately," she said.

"That isn't good," George said, clearly displeased. "Swinging around the city shouldn't interfere with your life. Have you considered writing a song? Show them that you understand rock."

"Rock isn't...' all right, I'm sorry for the trouble. I'll think about it."

After leaving Stacy's house, Gwen Spiderman and Miles squatted on the rooftop watching the sunset. Miles turned to Gwen Spiderman and asked, "So, you're really not going to write a song?"

"I've never written a song before," Gwen Spiderman replied while trying to recall some of the theories in the manuscripts she'd written. After detailing her understanding of punk nihilism, her ideas had become clearer and wanted to burst forth.

"I think you should try it," Miles stood up, hands on hips looking at the poster for a punk culture music festival on the lawn nearby. "We'll all support you."

Gwen Spiderman also stood up staring at the undulating shadow of the New York City skyline, as always with her arms crossed she said softly, "Maybe I should try?"

The wind howled as the busy streets of Manhattan were filled with a rush of people. A man and a woman were sitting inside a nearby coffee shop.

Natasha looked up at the poster stuck on the coffee shop's glass window. It featured a blond girl in a light-colored uniform wearing a black metal mask that was entirely out of sync with her attire. She alluringly looks into the camera with her fingers playfully pressed against her lips forming an 'X' symbol.

Blood-red exaggerated characters were written underneath the picture, "Blind obstinacy invites untimely death."

Natasha recites the phrase and nods, "Interesting. It's very in line with her rebellious spirit."

She then looked towards a building at the end of the street, where there was a massive advertisement saying, "Rock never dies, genius reborn—Join us in the new age of punk with twelve exciting newcomers! For tickets..."

"The good news is that Gwen has garnered popularity as a rock prodigy," Natasha started to laugh, "The bad news is that Chief George is going insane explaining to everyone he knows that it's not his daughter—and Peter is in a similar boat."

"Her single is indeed not bad," Shiller nods in agreement, "It does answer my question from the other day—her understanding of punk is definitely deeper than the average person, maybe because being Spiderman indeed comes with more 'suppressed anger'."

"But I still don't know what you're up to," Natasha shakes her head, browsing through the menu on the table.

Shiller doesn't respond. He takes out his phone, dials a number, and says, "Hello, is this Death? It's me. Calm down and don't give the phone to them, or you'll regret it."

"Chill, it's just a question I'd like to ask... Ok, lady, calm down. So you've noticed any changes in the mortal world recently?"

"Oh, so you've no time nor interest in worldly affairs? That's fine, I've been trying to make it up. The punk craze is in full swing in the human world these days. Oh, Wade told you about it? Even invited you to a concert? Looks like you two share a good relationship."

"Well, see, at the End of Time, Oblivion invited me to be his pope, and I'm dutifully fulfilling my responsibilities. I'm also promoting nihilism on Earth."

"Since the time is right, I plan on setting up a religion based on nihilism and death. I just wanted to ask your opinion."

"What? Why should you be included? Don't forget, I'm also your pope... Why lump you and Oblivion together?"

"Oh my, lady, don't talk nonsense! Have you forgotten? Eternity restricted your activity in the human world, but not Oblivion's. Although he's far more evil, irresponsible, and negligent than you."

"But, lady, that's how it is in this world, nothing is fair. I think you should thank him for giving you the opportunity to get a small mention in the scripture."

"No, no, no, you got it wrong. He didn't orchestrate it. There's no intention to mock you. You can simply trace along the timeline... What? You can't see because there's no time at the End of Time?"

"I swear, lady, we didn't say anything disrespectful about you. You know me, that's not who I am. Don't you trust my personality?"

"Fine, that's it. If you have no objections, I'll just write your name at the bottom of the page where the church offers complimentary toilet paper. Lady, my colleagues and I have always respected you, goodbye."

Stark, in the form of Iron Demon God and Strange in the form of Supreme Magician, saw the enormous silhouette of Death from across. Her face darkened more and more until it was pitch black.

After a while, a scream of wrath echoed through the Realm of Death.

"SHILLER!!!!!!!"
