Chapter 2374 - Chapter 1639 Too Busy to Die (Part 2)_1

"Hurry up, Miles, we're all counting on you. How the hell do we use this thing anyway?" Gwen Spiderman hustled Spider-Man Miles over the desk and pointed at a small external box nearby. "Your team said this thing you concocted could correct intelligently, right? So why isn't it working on my computer?"

Miles removed his mask and began to tinker with the computer, typing and saying, "Gwen, you really ought to learn about computers. Otherwise, you'll fall behind."

"You sound just like my dad." Gwen Spiderman, arms crossed, sighed, "It's not that I don't want to learn, but I feel like electronics hate me. They work fine for everyone else, but always mess up with me... Anyway, what's the problem?"

Miles looked over at the small box next to the computer, and his eyes fell onto the connecting cable. He exclaimed, "Oh my god, are you using a wired connection?! What era are you living in?!"

"Um, isn't that how we're supposed to connect it? It fits into the sockets."

"That's for debugging. It's a wireless device. Let me see... just as I thought, see this blue light here? That means it's in debug mode. Of course, the correction button won't work. Let's unplug the wire and pair it again."

"Hey, what are you guys up to?" One Peter Parker approached, Gwen Spiderman looked at him in surprise, "Are you the Peter from this universe? Why are you staying at the base at this time? No experiments to conduct?"

"Don't remind me." Peter pulled up a chair and sat down, "Reporter Brock scheduled an interview with me at three in the afternoon. I was all set until he had a last-minute urgent article to write. Now my interview's pushed to four-thirty. That's not enough time for me to go to the lab, so I have to wait here."

"That's strange." Miles operated the computer while talking, "I thought Doctor Otto and Doctor Warren would grab every minute of your time."

"They definitely want to." Peter spread his hands in resignation, "They almost hate Eddie Brock, oh, and Nick Fury. Basically, they dislike anyone who occupies my time."

"You're a big star now." Gwen Spiderman put her arm around Peter's shoulder, leaned in and said: "Genius scientist, pioneer of the times, let me think, what else?"

"Oh God, stop it. I never knew journalists could be so creative in praising people. It's mortifying."

Peter gently pushed Gwen Spiderman and steered her away from the chair. Not to be outdone, Gwen Spider grabbed the top of the chair back and pulled Peter's swivel chair closer.

While the two were playing around, Miles, who was by the desk, exclaimed, "Alright, Gwen, come look at these corrections."

Gwen Spiderman let go of Peter's chair, ran to the table, and took the mouse. She stared at the screen for a while before gasping in disbelief, "Oh my God, that's mind-blowing, it even replaced the line breaks for me."

"Yes, it's not just your conventional rigid proofreading. It's artificial intelligence doing the corrections. If you need any specific adjustments, just talk to this box."

Feeling intrigued, Gwen Spiderman fiddled with the box on her hand. Meanwhile, Peter walked over, his attention, however, was on Gwen's laptop screen, where the draft of a thesis was displayed.

"'The Significant Influence of the Evolution of Philosophical Criticism on the Path of Nihilism as Seen through the Spread of Religion'?" Peter barely managed to read out the convoluted title. He turned to Gwen Spiderman, "Is this what you study at Dream College?"

"Not really." Upon hearing this, Gwen Spiderman seemed quite distressed. She crossed her arms and said, "My thesis for Intergalactic Sociology wasn't going well, so Dean Schiller ordered me to change to this. He thought I might be interested in nihilism because I like punk culture."

"But in reality, the reason my thesis sucked was because I hate writing papers. It has nothing to do with the topic."

"Oh my God, I have a headache!" Miles looked at the screen filled with unfamiliar words, "I'm starting to worry about my forthcoming time at Dream College."

"You should be worried." Gwen Spiderman sat in front of the computer, carefully checking the corrections while saying, "Now that Dean Schiller's spaces are filled, you can only go to the other colleges. You won't even get the chance to revise your papers in the other three."

In distress, Miles let out a howl. He was also one of the Spider-Men who didn't enjoy studying much. But Nick Fury, the head of S.H.I.E.L.D., had put forth slogan "Both practice and study are indispensable", requiring all the Spider-Men to study at Dream College and earn enough credits.

Just as Gwen Spiderman was criticizing the courses in Dream College to Miles, Amazing Spiderman rushed over, waved his phone at them, and said: "Hey, did you guys see this? It's going viral on Twitter and Facebook!"

"What?" Peter drew close to see a photo on the Amazing Spiderman's phone, which came with a few lines of text. Peter habitually read the text first, but the woman in the picture was too striking, and he couldn't help but exclaim, "Oh my God, she's beautiful."

The photo on the phone screen showed a black-haired woman in a black, form-fitting sweater with a green blanket draped over her neck and shoulders, looking back at the camera with a high nose and deep eyes. Her long, messy hair looked wild and beautifully untamed.

"This is a photo by the famous niche art photographer Crawford, taken in Northern Europe. The woman is a punk culture enthusiast who happened to be on her way to a cultural exchange event when her car broke down. So, she draped a blanket over herself and got down to fixing the car."

"The photographer happened to be there for some art festival ceremony, and they met by chance on the road. Crawford was drawn to this lady at first sight. He described her as looking like a goddess from Norse mythology, and it just so happened that she was a Norwegian. Look at her nose and eyes, typical Northern European features."

"He took a photo of her and posted it on his Twitter account. This photographer specializes in niche art and doesn't have many followers, so each of his tweets typically only get a few dozen likes. But this one got a massive response, it's got nearly two hundred thousand likes now."

"Jesus, he only tweeted it at ten o'clock last night and it's got hundreds of thousands of likes already?" Miles chimed in.

"Not only that. This is just a screenshot, the repost and comment counts are hours old. Many media outlets around the world have shared this picture, so the total likes and shares worldwide must be over a billion by now."

"It makes sense. She's really beautiful, no, that's not quite right. She has a kind of... how do I put it? Divinity?" Peter rubbed his chin pensively for a moment before finding the right word.

"I think it's a killing intent. She's like a goddess of the night or war." Miles shuddered, rubbing his arms before adding: "I feel like she's going to destroy the world at any moment."

"What are you guys talking about? Let me see, let me see." Gwen Spiderman put down her mouse and leaned in to see. As soon as she saw the picture, she gasped in surprise, then suddenly she let out a choked sound as if someone had grabbed her by the throat.

"Hela??!!" Gwen Spiderman screamed.

"What? Who?" Amazing Spiderman was somewhat confused.

"She is Hela!! Hela!!"

"You know this lady's name? Do you know her?" The Amazing Spiderman looked at Gwen Spiderman in surprise and said, "Then you must help me get her autographed photo. If I can take it back to the newspaper in my world, maybe it will make me famous overnight."

"I mean, she's Hela! The Hela Odinson of Asgard!"

Miles and Amazing Spiderman didn't react, but Peter's jaw dropped when he heard the surname Odinson. He pointed at the pattern on the screen and looked at Gwen Spiderman and said, "Really? You mean, this is Hela herself, the legendary Princess His Highness from Asgard?"

Spider Gwen looked at him, and then nodded vigorously saying, "There's no doubt about it. We went fishing together a few days ago, I have seen her face up close. This is definitely her!"

"What? What do you mean?" Amazing Spiderman interrupted her, looking rather puzzled: "What are you talking about? So this lady is imitating Hela?"

"No, she is Hela, she is Hela Odinson in person." Gwen Spiderman elbowed Miles aside, pointed at the screen and said, "She is Odin's biological daughter, Thunder God Thor's biological sister, the Princess Hela Odinson of Asgard!"

Both Amazing Spiderman and Miles were stunned. Gwen Spiderman looked at them with a bemused expression and said, "Could it be that Hela was caught by a human photographer when she returned to Norway for a visit?"

"That's certainly possible." After a moment's thought, Peter spoke up: "When Thor returned to live on Earth, he particularly liked to visit the specialty supermarkets in Norway, saying that they gave him a feeling of home. Maybe Hela is the same, their family really is quite unique."

"But why does this report say that she is a punk fan and is about to attend a niche circle gathering?"

"Of course, humans have got it wrong again." Peter shook his head regretfully, "You know what the Journalists are like, don't you? They catch a piece of gossip and make a big deal out of it, otherwise where will the gossip come from?"

"But she really does look quite punk." Miles was so fascinated by the screen that he couldn't take his eyes off it, adding, "If I met someone on the street with this kind of makeup, I might find it very strange. But this dark makeup really suits her. She looks amazing."

"Who wouldn't agree with that." Amazing Spiderman fiddled with his phone saying, "There are so many beautiful people out there, why did she become overnight sensation with just one photo? Looks are secondary, the punk symbol on her dark demeanor is what really stands out."

Gwen Spiderman looked at him curiously. She moved closer to the phone again and stared at Hela's face for a long time, then she had to admit that Amazing Spiderman was right. If her friends from her universe, who were into rock music, saw this photo, they would definitely go wild.

"I have a feeling," Gwen Spiderman said, staring at the screen. "She's going to bring punk culture, this niche art form, back into the public eye. It's hard to say whether this is good or bad; this is not a type of culture that can be understood by the masses."

"Hold on, Gwen." Peter stopped Gwen Spiderman and said, "The paper you wrote is about nihilism and punk culture, isn't it? Why not take the introduction and submit it to the newspaper? The newspaper wants to ride the wave, and they'd like this kind of manuscript, and you might receive a good sum for it."

Gwen Spiderman immediately jumped up and said, "You're right, the introduction I wrote just happens to mention the dissemination of punk culture. I'm sending a revised version to the newspaper now. From here on out, you guys can call me reporter Gwen."
