Chapter 2154 - Chapter 1455: Bat of the Nest (End) (Volume complete)_1

"Listen, Bruce, don't move, you can't..."

With a "whoosh" sound, Bruce drew the daggers back, blood spurted out, and the three of them completely froze in place.

But the scene of Shiller falling didn't appear. The gray mist spread, Shiller's wounds instantly healed, he picked his suit jacket back up and draped it over his arm, smiled at the trio and said: "Scared you, didn't I? Just remember not to break anything when you come here next time."

Clark leaned against the wall, his legs giving way, Hal instantly slid down the door frame, Diana heaved a sigh of relief and squatted on the ground, clutching her stomach, then they all glared at Bruce simultaneously.

Bruce spread his hands and said, "You should have expected this."

"I told you we should've stayed out of the madman's business!" Hal immediately glared at Clark, saying, "We should have stayed out of it from the start!"

"God, my shirt is drenched in cold sweat!" Diana, somewhat unrefined, sat on the ground, covering her mildly aching stomach and said, "I really can't stand this anymore! I can't stay in this crazy city for another minute!"

Saying this, the raven-haired princess clumsily rose to her feet and walked out of the room, waving her hand in the process. "Don't bother calling me if anyone dies. That's it!"

Clark got to his feet, his legs still trembling a bit. "You've never been on our side. You two madmen can go and live your lives!" he said to Bruce, somewhat annoyed.

After saying this, he too stepped out the door broadly, leaving only Hal against the wall. After gathering himself, he said, "I won't attend another person's funeral with any of you, because even if you've died and been buried, you could still crawl out of the coffin to stab each other! I've seen enough, bye!"

Shiller calmly stretched out his hand to Bruce, Bruce returned the daggers to him. Shiller sheathed the daggers and asked: "I can't wait to know when will the drama start?"

"Soon."

"Where can I watch it?"

"Right here."

At this moment, Elliot was trapped in the old Cain's mansion by Amanda. Pointing his gun at Amanda, Amanda showed no sign of fear. "You don't have the guts to kill me or else Bruce Wayne's identity will be ruined." she said ominously.

"I can completely erase..."

"You can't, if you really have Wayne's power, why not return to Wayne Manor? Why are you hiding in a decrepit house, eating take-out fast food? Is this what you've been scheming for?"

At this, Elliot's expression started to distort. Amanda, with her limited talent, couldn't quite comprehend the naturally insane ones who bleated endlessly about art and ideas. But she had plenty of experience dealing with serial killers of a lesser caliber, such as Elliot, a criminal motivated by material gain, who knew how to break their defenses.

"Is this what you wanted?" Amanda spread her arms and took a spin, "Or is it that, despite having his looks, you've messed up everything that Bruce Wayne could've easily handled?"

"Shut up, or I'll shoot."

"Yes, and then you'd lose even Bruce Wayne's identity." Amanda stared into his eyes and said coldly, "If I die, someone will accuse you immediately. Believe me, the witness's testimony is enough to jail you until you die of old age in the prison I built."

After saying this, Amanda turned and walked away. Elliot's hand on the trigger started to shake. But until Amanda's figure disappeared at the end of the street downstairs, he still hadn't managed to pull the trigger.

Now he only had the identity of Bruce Wayne. He had to protect this identity, regardless of the cost.

With somewhat shaking hands, Elliot placed his gun back at his waist. He took a few deep breaths, calmed his thoughts and then realized that just because he let Amanda go, it didn't mean she wouldn't press charges against him. Clearly, this damn woman already knew that he had stolen the identity.

Had something happened to the Bruce in the prison? Elliot could only consider this possibility. Even though he had told himself countless times that he was the real thing, the thought of the failure in prison possibly teaming up with Amanda to accuse him filled him with dread.

Elliot's original motive was to be a better Bruce. Only such thought would allow him to confidently treat this identity as something he rightfully deserved.

But in fact, he had not accomplished this, not even close, so he was naturally feeling guilty and unsettled. The sense of inferiority buried in his heart overwhelmed him. "A fake is a fake" – this line repeated over and over again in his mind in a few seconds.

Elliot struggled to calm himself. After experiencing such an emotional turmoil, he was on the verge of madness. No, he thought, nothing could prove who was real or fake right now, his disguise was perfect.

The identity of Batman couldn't be publicized, Bruce pretended to be a playboy to the outside world, so the jury couldn't figure out who was real or fake based on the gap between their abilities. If it came to showcasing intelligence, Elliot had many ways to forge it too.

So, what was the reason for Amanda's insistence that he would go to jail?
