Chapter 2117 - Chapter 1427: Return of the Past (26)_1

Dealing with these infectious monsters is indeed difficult. Spider Man, who is now treasured by all sides, and even the superheroes whose strategic positions are not that important, no one is willing to let them risk being infected to fight these monsters with their bare hands.

So in the initial battle plan, apart from using the lifeless undead army to contain the vanguard's offensive, the plan was to manufacture a large number of robots, or release all of Stark's stored robot inventory.

But after all, robots and humans are different. Stark's robots designed for combat are equipped with powerful destructive weapons. They can also put the superhero monsters in a state of "constant death" like Magneto.

But this couldn't go on like this, so they prepared another capture plan, which is to use the agents of the Time Management Bureau and their equipped time weapons.

This compact device, which looks a bit like a portable terminal, doesn't seem like a weapon but has a power beyond ordinary logic. Just a sweep of its light can completely freeze the timeline of the opponent. No matter how crazy or infectious you are, as long as your time is not moving, then no matter how much infection, it has no way to spread.

Time is the answer to all problems. This phrase illustrated the current situation very well. After the fully armed Time Management Bureau agents entered the field, they saw any life forms and directly pulled the trigger. Countless lines of light flashed and one by one the statues frozen in time by robots moved to the warehouse.

The speed at which the first wave of assault troops poured out of the portal slowed down. After the peak of the human flow had passed, the mages no longer supplied energy to the portal, cut off the flow of people and brought this operation to an end.

"Is that it?" Shadow Cat Kitty asked in disbelief: "So their large-scale attack is over? We haven't even taken a shot yet."

Wolverine Logan walked up and patted Kitty on the shoulder, saying: "Are you still not aware of the style of our universe after all this time? When are we going to need to take punches passively?"

Shadow Cat Kitty slowly widened her eyes and looked at Logan and said, "You mean..."

However, Logan did not answer her question, but turned and walked away to the lab to sharpen his claws.

All the mutants saw that this battle was a bit rash. The command had not assembled, not all people were present, only half of the plan was in place, and the skull rack put in the most effort. This did not look like a grand final battle at all.

Looking at Shadow Cat Kitty's somewhat puzzled expression, Professor X came over in his wheelchair and said with a smile: "Don't be disappointed, my child. Do you think the strength of the enemies in this world really warrants our full effort?"

Shadow Cat Kitty pondered for a moment, realizing that if they went all out, these monsters might not hold up. Just the King of Brightness from Asgard could split them between life and death.

Alright, Kitty thought, at least the mages vented a lot. They may need some more tangible opponents, not the unfathomable madness.

"Hey! The Supreme Magician calls on Professor X for a meeting!" Blink's voice came from the doorway. Professor X smiled and turned to leave.

Professor X walked through the corridors of the base to the meeting room on the other side. As soon as he walked in, he saw a very damaged robot sitting in the middle of the large conference table.

"Let me introduce you. This is Rocket, the raccoon. After the agents of the Time Management Bureau captured Star Lord, he was the only mechanical animal left in the universe found on his back. They performed many experiments on him, and Peter is trying to repair his body."

Professor X turned to look, and indeed Peter was tinkering with a machine. Soon he walked to the table and lifted the incomplete raccoon skeleton into the machine, then started hammering and banging. After about ten minutes, the more complete mechanical raccoon was picked up from there.

"Time is tight, and I have no material to prepare for bionic hair, so this will have to do." Peter patted the head of the reawakened Rocket and said: "Come on, give it a try, you should be able to move."

The raccoon, with half of its skeleton exposed, slowly got up like an old man about to die, coughed heavily a couple of times, and then stood there with his head down.

"What's wrong? Was your intelligence system also damaged? But when I checked just now, I found that apart from a lot of redundant data inside, there should be no big problem." Peter looked puzzled at Rocket, the raccoon.

"I'm fine." Rocket Racoon coughed heavily, and said in a low tone: "It's just that if you've been through something this terrible, you can't be cheerful right away."

"It seems that your language module has indeed been restored." Strange walked in front of Rocket and said: "Then tell us, what happened in that universe exactly?"

"What has already happened is not important." Rocket Racoon took a deep breath and said: "Listen carefully to what I am going to say next."

"They absolutely do not trust robots, so I couldn't access any secret information, but Star Lord can. He has gone completely insane, loose-lipped, so I overheard a terrifying plan about a week before I arrived here."

"Cough cough cough..." Rocket Racoon just coughed violently, and then spat out a phrase: "...Star Devouring Engine."

"They... they..." Rocket Racoon caught his breath with difficulty. It seemed that he was not yet used to his complete lung structure. He sat down on the spot, hugged his legs, and said, "They used the Silver Ghost to capture the Planet Devourer. You all should know what the Planet Devourer is, right?"

"I've heard of it, but I don't know much about it." Strange replied.

Rocket Raccoon's eyes widened and he spoke with a slightly elevated tone: "Impossible, you have developed to this point, you must have had dealings with Star Devourer, hasn't he ever wanted to eat the Earth?"

"If he wants to devour Earth, doesn't he have to go through Asgard first?" Peter asked, befuddled. "Shouldn't they have already dealt with Asgard? Humans are still just fledglings, it's normal for them not to have confronted such powerful entities, isn't it?"

"Asgard..." Rocket Raccoon snorted. "It seems the gods of your universe live longer, but that's not necessarily a good thing. The power of Galactus is unimaginable, and these lunatics have managed to capture and reshape him into what's known as the Star Devouring Engine."

"Now, under the sinister guidance of the Multifaceted and technology of Iron Man, the engine has been completed. As far as I know, they're planning to send it into a forthcoming cosmic rift, which leads to another universe. This would result in unimaginable destruction."

Rocket Raccoon lowered his gaze and said, "I'm aware you have no obligation to save another universe, but I must remind you, if that universe perishes, then you..."

There was a smack and Rocket Raccoon was startled. As he turned, he saw Strange, who had just slammed his hand down on the table, declaring, "They dare use such an evil engine to obliterate another universe?! How could we sit by and do nothing? Wong! Inform all the mages of Kamar-Taj to prepare for battle!"

"I'll notify Magneto. We'll meet later at Dreamland Base." Professor X nodded in agreement.

"Then I'll inform Captain America and have him gather The Avengers!" Peter said before turning to leave.

"Wait a minute!" Rocket Raccoon jumped up, his eyes wide as he looked at them incredulously. "Am I crazy, or are you guys? I just told you how powerful the Star Devouring Engine is, and that they plan to place it in another universe, yet here you are, not even feeling lucky about it?!"

Strange extended a hand to halt Rocket Raccoon's argument. With a compassionate expression, he said, "How can we sit idly by when our sibling universe is in such peril? All evil will be brought to justice!"

With that, Strange flung his robe, striding out of the room with his head held high. From beyond the door, Rocket Raccoon heard him call out, "Peter, track the Spider Man of that universe! Have him open the door for us with the M'Kraan Crystal!"

Then came a muttering voice, clearly trying to calm the situation.

Rocket Raccoon's jaw dropped in disbelief before his teeth clenched. "I really don't know who is the crazy one... Wait for me, I still have more information!" he growled.

The flickering of the candlelight caused the shadows of two figures to dance on the walls adorned with wriggling tentacles. The floor was stained with indescribable black sludge. Silhouettes of two figures facing off in the center of the room—one was Shiller, the other was Stark.

The reason why they were here dates back a few days. At that time, Stark was still accompanying Shiller around the clock, trying to figure out the reason for his abnormal vitality.

One day, Stark returned to the Stark Building, planning to quickly deal with his recent work. He had gotten the handle of things, so he finished all pending tasks in less than an hour and headed towards the shuttle platform, ready to continue his trip to Hell's Kitchen.

Pepper followed him to see him off, mainly to make sure he really left and didn't mess up any more work in the next hour.

Just then, a message was sent to Stark's private phone. His pupils constricted the moment he read it.

Then Stark turned and rushed back to the lab. But as he was about to put on the Mecha suit, Shiller appeared at the lab entrance. He knocked politely on the door and said, "Tony, it's time for your mental assessment. Do you want to do it here or head to the sanatorium?"

"I have something to do, the mental evaluation can wait until tomorrow!" Stark shouted back without turning his head.

"Oh, so you're occupied all day today, are you?" Shiller deliberately extended the question, turning to walk away. In a flash, Stark rushed to the door, pulling Shiller back in. "Stark is never too busy. You're to stay here and not go anywhere!" he snarled through gritted teeth.

"Then first complete the mental assessment form, and then we need to have a conversation to ensure the accuracy of the mental assessment report."

Stark hesitated, always feeling that Shiller was deliberate. Looking down at his watch, he realized it really was the day for his mental assessment. He cursed quietly to himself and said, "Can you wait an hour for me? Just an hour!"

"So, I guess you're totally preoccupied for this hour…" Shiller's face seemed to be saying, "dare to disappear for one hour, and I'll utilize this time to create a huge mess."

Taking a deep breath, Stark looked Shiller in the eyes, gritting his teeth as he said, "I told you, I'm available!"

"Then first fill out the form, and we'll talk later."

"But I have something to do now!"

"Then go!"

"But you can't go anywhere!"

"Then first fill out the form, and we'll talk later."

"I have something to do!"
