Chapter 2036 - Chapter 1372: Aftermath (Part 1)_1

"Your Highness, are you planning on keeping this farce going? I think you should take advantage of everyone being here to explain how you killed your own wife," Shiller said, smiling at the queen's husband who lay on the ground.

"What... what nonsense are you talking about?!!" The husband of the queen stood up and shouted loudly.

"You killed Her Majesty the Queen of the Shi'a Empire." Shiller's tone was very flat, as if he was simply stating a fact.

"You're insane!!!" The queen's husband screamed and then he looked around and roared, "Where are the Asgardian guards?!! Are you going to let this madman spout gibberish here?!!"

"My wife, Her Majesty the Queen of the Shi'a Empire, was brutally murdered in Asgard. You failed to protect her and now want to pin the blame on me as the murderer?!!!"

The husband's tone was full of incredulity. His eyebrows drooped down, the corners of his eyes twitched, the muscles around his nose quivered constantly. His face was filled with grief, anger, and disbelief.

"Doctor Shiller, do you have any evidence to back up what you're saying?" Frigga was the first to step forward to mediate. She said, "This nobleman is also a member of the Shi'a Empire. We can't slander his reputation without evidence."

Strange also stepped forward, looking at Shiller and said, "Okay, Shiller, I know you're a psychologist and a detective, but this is absurd."

Thor looked at Shiller and said, "Doctor, are you saying that the Queen of the Shi'a Empire was killed by her own husband?"

Shiller nodded. He didn't care about the murderous gaze in the husband's eyes. He only looked at Thor and said, "I presume Your Majesty knows that in order to conduct a detective investigation, we must know the timeline of the queen's activities in Asgard, where she went, what she did, who she met from the time she arrived here till her death."

"All those who met with the queen are suspects. Once we determine the time of the queen's death, we can ask all suspects to provide an alibi. Those who cannot provide one are naturally the murderers. This is a traditional detective method."

The guests nodded. What Shiller said was clear. Those who had contact with the queen were all suspects. Once the time of the queen's death was determined, each person who had contact with the queen would take turns providing an alibi. The more detailed the proof, the smaller the suspicion. In this way, a list of suspects, ranked from most to least likely, could soon be obtained.

Then, through the queen's wounds, the possible murder weapon, and the abilities of the suspects, the real murderer could be determined from the most suspicious individuals.

Although not all civilizations have developed independent detective disciplines, this issue, which is essentially a logical problem of constantly eliminating incorrect answers, is quite easy to understand.

Thor's gaze swept around, noticing the guests' attitudes. Then he heard Shiller ask, "So let's start from the beginning. The first person Her Majesty the Queen contacted after disembarking the spaceship was you. Pardon the offense, but may I include you on the list?"

Thor cleared his throat and said, "There's nothing wrong with that. Asgardians have always believed that as long as you act correctly and uprightly, you have nothing to fear from others' guesses. The truth will eventually come to light."

"Alright, Your Majesty, do you know where Queen Lilandra of the Shi'a Empire went after her meeting with you on the night she arrived in Asgard?"

As Thor spoke, the husband's face flashed a hint of panic, but it wasn't the panic of being exposed. It was a panic mixed with embarrassment, anger, and the bitterness of holding a belly full of grievances.

Thor, stroking his chin in thought, said, "Asgard does not monitor guests' whereabouts at all times, and I have no intention of prying into the queen's private affairs, so I'm afraid only the Palace Guards or members of the Empire of Shea Guard would know her whereabouts."

"Should I summon the Palace Guard?" Sif asked.

At this moment, everyone's eyes fell on the two guards standing behind the husband of the Shi'a Empire Guard. The young guard with a sword stepped forward, cleared his throat lightly, and said, "Since arriving in Asgard, I've been with Her Majesty the Queen at all times. I think I have some say in this matter."

"Please feel free to speak, sir."

"After ending her meeting with His Majesty the God King, Her Majesty the Queen intended to return to her room. However, she suddenly mentioned that an old friend she hadn't seen in a long time was also here, and she wanted to pay him a visit. So, she called for the butler, freshened up, and went to the sixth floor of the Fairy Palace."

At this moment, Sif lightly touched the gemstone necklace around her neck and appeared to be reminiscing. She said, "There are many guests on the sixth floor. I really don't know who exactly the old friend Her Majesty the Queen of the Shi'a Empire was referring to? Sir, did she mention the name of this old friend?"

"What on earth are you guys doing now?!! The body of Her Majesty the Queen has been left here for almost an hour! Shouldn't we deal with her remains in a more appropriate and respectful manner first?!!" The husband of the queen screamed again.

"Your Highness, you must understand that we must preserve the crime scene. Only in this way can we find critical clues from the body." Shiller explained patiently.
