Chapter 1956 - Chapter 1318: Interstellar Grand Stage (25)_2

"The advent of sky transportation has improved this." Gwen said in a calm but strong voice, "The security system provided by Stark Group makes the shuttle extremely safe, even if you're drunk and passed out, there's a specialized intelligent medical care system that checks your vital statistics. In the past two months, medical robots in the shuttle have treated more than 20 patients with sudden ailments, with marked effect."

"However, no media outlets have reported this." Jarvis chimed in, tapping his temple slightly. After thorough web searching, his conclusion wasn't optimistic. His brows furrowed slightly as he said, "Someone is controlling public opinion, but that's not new. The program team that reported this in advance is suspicious."

Nightingale gently tapped the table, stood up and said, "So now, we will investigate this program team."

Everyone stood up, ready to take on assignments from Nightingale, but at that moment, Jarvis furrowed his brows. A stream of data flowed through his eyes. He held out a hand to stop Nightingale, then said, "Wait, breaking news!"

"Pierre, who previously led the protests on Dorance Street, was found dead in his home about 6 hours ago. According to news reports, the police determined it to be suicide. However, just now, the Bronx precinct claimed they have yet to investigate this case and have come to no solid conclusion."

Nightingale and Speedball Robert glanced at each other, Nightingale opened his mouth to say, "Sure enough, there are handlers of this behind-the-scenes operation in both TV stations and newspapers ... let's go, we will split up and start the investigation!"

"Jarvis and Wanda, along with the two new Spidermen, form a group to go to the murder scene and TV station for investigation. Robert, Pietro, Squirrel Girl and I will form another group and go to the newspaper for investigation. Fungi Man, you go to Matt. I have a feeling that things won't be that simple, if we need backup, Jarvis will immediately contact you!"

Everyone nodded. Then they formed a circle and put their hands in the center.

"Set off."

"Set off!"

Just as they stepped out, Jarvis deliberately lagged behind and walked shoulder-to-shoulder with Gwen, whispering to her, "Say hello to Peter for me."

Gwen's spider eyes dilated slightly. She glimpsed at Jarvis, sighing as if she had guessed something, then she lowered her voice and said, "I really can't stand the other me whining. Fine, is it because I don't seem lively enough?"

Jarvis chuckled and lightly touched his upper eyelid, "I have a vein scanning function, but it's okay, Nick definitely doesn't."

Gwen sighed slightly with a bit of complaint, "She said she was going to the lab today, but she also wanted to earn points from the chase event, so she made me come. I hope I don't run into my dad!"

About 10 minutes later, Gwen saw a familiar figure at the end of Solon Street - her father, George.

Gwen held her forehead in exasperation, "You guys go ahead, he's bound to recognize me."

"Aren't you in your uniform?" Wanda asked curiously, "You're wearing a mask, so shouldn't it be hard to recognize you?"

Gwen shook her head and said, "There's no father in this world who wouldn't recognize his own daughter. Even wearing a mask doesn't help. If he knew I was doing such dangerous things, he would yell for three hours!"

Wanda burst into laughter, having apparently thought of someone. She nodded, "Alright, you keep watch for us here. We'll be back soon."

As expected, they returned in less than 5 minutes. Upon their return, Laira shrugged, "The body has been sent away. There are no clues to look for. Chief George is there as well. It looks like he also wants to know who's pulling the strings."

"He's not in any danger, is he?" Gwen seemed a little worried.

"Don't worry." Jarvis said, "They have plenty of personnel and it's unlikely that the killer would return to the scene of the crime. There's indeed no clue left at the scene, but I've hacked into a nearby vehicle recorder and found some clues."

"About half an hour ago, the first one to arrive at the scene, Officer Juliette received suspicious intel from a Chinese delivery boy. They speculated that there might be problems with the TV station or newspaper."

"Officer Juliette didn't want to return to apply for a search warrant because it was too slow. So she and the young Chinese man directly went to knock on the doors of the TV station. Because he's Chinese and dressed as a delivery boy, he's easily trusted. Most people perceive Chinese as those who tend to avoid the police, so few would think that they could collaborate."

Wanda nodded and leaned her chin on the tip of her thumb, "It seems we're of the same mind, then we'll go to the TV station first!"

Soon after, the group arrived at the New York TV station using a shuttle. But although it's late, there were still many night slots that were busy.

Looking at the bustling lobby, Jarvis slightly furrowed his brows. However, soon after, he relaxed them and turned his gaze towards Laira.

"What's the matter?" Laira asked, confused.

"You can infiltrate using Peter Parker's identity. About three days ago, he was interviewed here, and the program will be broadcast the day after tomorrow. You can totally say that you're here to confirm the broadcast schedule with the program team."

"But wouldn't he normally come this late?"

"Of course he would. You're a genius researcher. You've just come out of the lab, completing your rewarding time contributing to the future of humanity..."

"Oh God, stop!"

Meanwhile, Wanda looked at Jarvis, blinked, and leaned over to whisper something inaudible, "You've really learnt the ropes."

Laira rubbed his hands nervously, took a deep breath to boost his morale, and then found a small alley to change out of his uniform into the hoodie and jeans that a college student often wore.

Considering Laira is also Peter Parker, and he knew Peter's habits well, he walked into the television station with a friendly greeting to each person he met. It's evident that many people in this universe knew Peter Parker.

"Oh yes, I'm here to confirm the broadcast schedule with the program team." Laira showed a shy smile to the front desk, "I got a bit too engrossed in the experiment and forgot to make an appointment, I've just come from the lab. If it's inconvenient, I'll come back tomorrow."

"Yes, Mr. Parker." the front desk also smiled, "Not at all, go straight to the hall on the third floor and turn right to find Miss Olayra, she's just handling this matter."

After thanking the receptionist, Laira walked towards the elevator, but as he stepped in, he saw a familiar face.

"Xu Shang-Chi!"
