Chapter 1939 - Chapter 1308: Interstellar Grand Stage (15)_3

"Thank god I'm not the twat from the long movie, otherwise I'd have thrown myself into the sea."

Shiller gave a faint smile. At this moment, Xu Shang-Chi rubbed his hands in excitement and said, "Perhaps, that decent Eastern Hero is me? After I coughed up some blood just now, I found that the flow of energy in my body lessened. It seems like I can control it a bit."

After speaking, he turned to look out the window, where the light of the searchlights kept flashing. Then he lowered his voice and said, "You're not just planning to stay here like this, are you? Don't you intend to do something to change the world?"

Shiller nodded lightly and said, "I'm just an ordinary person, without your kind of superpower, so I'm afraid this matter has to rely on you. Don't rush things, you need to rest first. If you want to leave here, I'll help you."

Shiller's voice was gentle and slow, each syllable of every word being elongated. The rate of the spotlight flashing outside the window grew faster and faster, making the light inside the room unstable.

"Alright, you're right..." Xu Shang-Chi, clutching his slightly painful chest, leaned back on the pillow of the hospital bed. His vision was starting to blur, he said drowsily, "I need to rest a bit first. We'll talk about anything else tomorrow."

As he finished speaking, the rhythm of his breathing gradually lengthened. When his eye movement speed started to transition into a deep sleep, Shiller expressionlessly got up, walked to a nearby cabinet, took out a bottle of wine, opened the cap and let the aroma fill the room.

Shortly after, Shiller entered into the foggy Consciousness Space. There wasn't a Tower of Thought here, only sparse fragments. It's a typical Psychic Space of an ordinary person.

Shiller looked around and found a curled up figure right in the center of all the fragments. It was a very ordinary young Chinese man wearing glasses for nearsightedness. His appearance was average, without any unique qualities, just like the countless male students you could find in any college town.

Shiller found his memories about himself among many fragments. This young man's surname was not Xu but Chen. His life experiences showed that he indeed was not a native of this world. It was not brainwashing or hypnosis, he was genuinely reborn in another body.

Shiller stood in place, contemplating. He wanted to figure out why this transmigrator came here.

Shiller disliked the occurrence of anything beyond his control. If something out of the ordinary did happen, he needed to determine the root cause. He would not assume it was merely a coincidence.

In the DC World, Shiller had heard Lucifer say that the Book of Destiny recorded not only the natives of this world, but also many souls that strayed into this world. These souls usually became a part of Destiny's story shortly after arriving here, just like what Shiller had once experienced.

Lucifer's explanation was that minor errors were inevitable in the infinite cosmos and worlds. These wandering souls, even if reincarnated, couldn't cause much destruction.

Even if they could change something, it would only be confined to one or two universes. Very few gods pay attention to them, and if things get out of hand, they simply toss that universe aside... except for Shiller.

After learning about the Multiverse, Shiller had heard Spiderman mention some unusual events, such as a character popping up out of nowhere in a world - a character that had never appeared in the comics: setting up big companies, defeating Thanos, wooing Superheroes. Shiller knew these were likely people who had accidentally transmigrated here.

However, since the lucky Xu Shang-Chi had transmigrated right in front of him, Shiller would naturally use the simplest method to investigate his background, ensuring this wasn't some kind of conspiracy.

Shiller examined Xu Shang-Chi's memories, trying to locate the moment of his incident. However, as numerous memory shards flashed before him, Shiller caught sight of a familiar face.

His pupils contracted abruptly the next second.

Early the next morning, Xu Shang-Chi woke up from his sleep. He rubbed his eyes vigorously, stretched lazily, yawned loudly, and then noticed that the doctor from yesterday had entered his room again.

This time, however, there was a familiar food box in his hand. It looked like breakfast ordered from Chinatown. Shiller once again sat down by Xu Shang-Chi's side, looked at him with a smile, and said, "You fell asleep yesterday before I could ask you more. We can continue our conversation today."

Xu Shang-Chi, eyeing the aromatic food box, swallowed his saliva, and said reluctantly, "I've already told you so much, but you haven't told me your story."

Shiller lowered his gaze, saying, "There's not much to tell about me. I'm an orphan, with no parents or family. When I arrived here, I was alone and had nothing to worry about."

As expected, Xu Shang-Chi showed a sympathetic expression upon hearing these words. But he quickly became a bit downcast, his movements slowing as he opened the food box.

"My mom and my brother and sister will be devastated." Xu Shang-Chi said with his lips pressed together, "My mom just called me a few days ago, told me not to work during the summer holidays and to come back home early. If she finds out..."

Xu Shang-Chi's eyes were getting red. Meanwhile, Shiller casually opened the lid of the food box and placed the alluring meal in front of Xu Shang-Chi, asking, "You never mentioned your father. Are you from a single-parent family?"

Xu Shang-Chi nodded absentmindedly, "I was just a baby when my dad ran away because of gambling debts. My mom, brother, and sister raised me."

"Your mother sounds like a great woman. What does she do for a living?"

"She's a nurse," Xu Shang-Chi replied. "She's a nurse."
