Chapter 1914 - Chapter 1293 - Greed Brings Bad Luck (Part II)_1

"I think, starting with mathematics, may indeed have been a mistake," Batman began in the study of the Tower of Thought.

"There are two types of people in this world. One type leans towards abstract logic, while the other must have specific examples to exercise their intellect," Stark said in front of the desk in the office of the Stark Building.

Soon, the dim light from the study and the bright light from the floor-to-ceiling windows merged together so that after the busy backdrop receded, the two desks sat within the same space.

First, Shiller turned to the left as Batman raised a piece of paper behind the wooden desk, and said, "Physics is relatively interesting among the sciences, has a broader range of applications, and among all the scientific theories, I am best at physics."

"Of course, of course. I was born for natural science!" Stark declared from behind the table on the right: "Or perhaps it was born for me. When I was born, every physical law in the world should have cheered."

"Physics is divided into many categories such as mechanics, electronics, atomic and molecular physics, quantum mechanics, astrophysics, etc. Each of these is exploring the nature of matter and the laws of mutual motion." Batman's voice was very rhythmic.

"Physics is the most romantic of all disciplines, dissecting the truth of our surrounding objects and the operation of the world. If you yearn for the truth of the cosmos, you will inevitably pursue the path of physics," Stark's voice was gentle and smooth.

"Next, I'm going to explain the basic definitions of topics covered by basic physics, such as mechanics, thermodynamics, optics, electromagnetics..." Batman slowed down his speech and paused before continuing.

"Undeniably, the essence of physics is application," Stark nodded and said, "Observe first, then summarize, and finally apply."

Like a high wall, Shiller's soul stood between the two geniuses. The changing light of day and night could not prevent these voices, full of reason or passion, somber or joyful, from rising.

At some point, Shiller's consciousness had drifted off to sleep, but the conversation did not cease.

They used their genius scientific thinking to educate Shiller but also taught each other.

And the knowledge that hovered outside of the memory warehouse, unable to enter the Tower of Thought, was completely broken down, crushed, and reassembled in the collision of the two geniuses.

This knowledge turned into something new and higher, closer to the truth, and was then delivered into the tower together.

At the bottom of the tower, Morbid was holding a little boy who embraced a ball of grey mist, and they both looked upward.

At the top of the tower, the towering shadows of Batman and Iron Demon God faced each other across the sky and looked at the stormy clouds above.

Speaking to the boy, Morbid knelt and said, "Every person's ego is a manifestation of natural instinct. Unfortunately, the natural instinct of a patient with Autism is to focus excessively on one aspect, causing inattention in all other aspects."

"Every patient with Autism is a specialized genius, demonstrating amazing talent in one particular field while appearing incapable in all other areas. This is both a gift and a curse."

"We can deduce the reactions necessary for social interaction, but we cannot mimic the genius scientific thinking. We are not mathematical or natural science geniuses, lacking such thinking and sufficient inspiration."

"But that's okay. When our souls are in tune with true geniuses, our ability to understand others' talents comes into play. Our thoughts will come into line with the trembling frequency."

"Arrogant is in tune with Batman while Greed resonates with Iron Man. From the talent of great scientists, we get a share of their genius."

Looking into the eyes of the boy, Morbid said, "The consequences of our lack of this kind of thinking are not only that we cannot engage in these disciplines."

"This extreme logical calculation and deep yearning for the truth should have been the rein of manic emotions. We lost it in the past, but now, we're getting it back."

"Stay focused, remain calm, let infinite data and calculations fill the brain, become a logic machine, stop experiencing, stop empathizing, and take a radically different path."

"Balance your personality with balanced thinking and get back what Morbid deprived you of."

Along with Morbid's deep voice, Greed traveled back and forth between the study and the surface of their consciousness, seemingly already immersed in a state of semi-dream and semi-delirium.

Batman and Iron Man both realized that they were in a conversation with a great genius. As a result, the topics they discussed became more and more profound, from Bat Equipment to Iron Armor, from energy to power, from history to the future.

They both struggled to pour their knowledge and learning into the characteristic of Greed. It was only the receptive nature of Greed that could accommodate this nearly infinite wisdom.

Shiller became the bond between the two great geniuses. And thus, as the high-octane contention of gold and steel slid towards the slowly lowering tail of the song, the two towering shadows watched the Tower of Thought together without prior agreement.

They knew that they should give the most precious gift to their friend, the bond between them, and the person who brought them here and made their meeting possible.

Soon, a brick fell from the top of the Tower of Thought that had not been able to break through for a long time, and then many bricks all layered up against each other, materialized out of thin air, and smoothly joined the tower.

Brick after brick slid along a smooth curve to their respective positions. In a blink of an eye, the tower added nine floors, storing all the knowledge that could not rush into the memory warehouse.

This boring data, incomprehensible symbols, and design drawings that ordinary people can't understand should no longer change the world, but instead change their friend, providing an alternative path for a specialized genius.

And after that, thinking it insufficient, when they reached out, a thick gray mist rose from the bottom of the tower, rapidly spreading to their fingertips.

The gray mist frolicked gleefully, circling around the uppermost floors, letting out an ecstatic hum.

When the symbiotic factors touched the tremors of the soul, every cell of his was trying to understand the genius wisdom of the two.

The symbiont relied on the host, and as Shiller's thinking gradually balanced out, the gray mist finally had a breakthrough. It transformed those original technical memories which relied on experience into truly genius thinking and inspiration.

This implied that he would not only be able to repair, but also create, not merely replicate and remodel like a symbiont, but create like a human being.

In the end, two vast silhouettes paid their respects to each other from afar; they didn't gain any new techniques from each other, but they no longer needed to.

When two geniuses across the cosmos greeted each other within the same soul, no isolated technique could describe such a glorious understanding, no language could describe such harmonious resonance of souls.

As the soul's tremors gradually subsided, Shiller was suddenly awakened by a clear sound. Instinctively, Shiller jolted and turned his head to find a cup of warm water placed beside him.

"Who said Stark doesn't know how to care for others?" Stark's light-hearted voice echoed in Shiller's ear.

"Thank you." Instead of responding sarcastically as usual, Shiller took a sip of water with a furrowed brow, asking, "What were you saying before? What happened? Why does my head hurt?"

"Nothing much, you just dozed off again." Stark slightly squinted, returned to the battle armor mannequin, began to adjust the equipment, and said, "Honestly, I didn't know my voice was so hypnotizing that it managed to put you to sleep 12 times within half an hour."

"It wasn't your fault." Shiller shook his head, "Complete responsibility lies with Physics."

"If you say so, I must admit it's my flaw. Physics is innocent, and so is Mathematics."

"It seems I'm really not cut out for this." Shiller frowned, squeezing his eyes together in pain, "You should have seen the symptoms of autistic patients in the case analysis. We tend to be inclined towards a particular talent and possess an extremely high concentration in that area. But if we switch to another, our attention is easily scattered."

"Of course, I've seen it." Stark shrank behind his battle armor mannequin as he tinkered with the connections of the lower parts, continuing, "Many autistic children possess considerable talent in memorizing written words or artistic patterns."

"They can even draw an entire city directly with the details of every street. Yet sometimes they can't even manage to put on socks. Many people call them 'cursed geniuses'."

"But I think, genius is genius, there's no such thing as a curse." Stark shook his head, "Wisdom can't be cursed. Those so-called curse appearances are nothing more than human shortcomings and imperfections."

"I never thought I'd hear you say this." Shiller was indeed surprised. He pulled out a case file from his pocket, saying, "Alright, lesson time is over. Time for psychotherapy. What happened again?"

"Oh, you said earlier that you felt sad and wronged because you unfolded like a peacock in front of me, and I didn't pay any attention to it…"

"That's your illusion!"

"Absolutely not."

"Then it's your dream."

"Impossible."

Shiller rolled his eyes, stood up and walked in front of the battle armor mannequin. As he examined the nicknamed "Rebel" armor, he said,

"Previously, there was another stubborn guy who barged into my room and forced me to learn math. Ha, finally, he scrammed. He must have been thrown out by the Superego. Too bad I didn't get to see his embarrassing exit..."

"No, he wasn't thrown out."

"How do you know?"

"I just know."

"Why?"

Shiller asked without thinking, and casually glanced at Stark's face. Stark, holding the wrench, slowly stood up and turned to Shiller.

As the dense golden sunset outside the floor-to-ceiling window illuminated Stark's face, his brown eyes were half like a rippling lake, half like the dark, profound sea.

Along with Shiller's shocked expression, Stark rigidly froze. His voice, deeper than his usual tone, echoed in the room,

"Because I am Batman."
