Chapter 1815 - Chapter 1227: Farm of Justice (IX)_1

Lucifer stared in astonishment at the multitude of crystals filled with Green Lantern energy. His jaw slowly dropped, but then he rubbed his eyes and lifted his head again. Pointing to the mountain, he asked,

"Did you guys empty all the Green Lantern energy in the universe??!!"

"Not to that extent." Shiller shook his head, "It's just the energy from a dozen or so Total Furnaces. Surely the Emotional Spectrum Energy in the cosmos isn't that limited?

Lucifer moved his hand between Shiller, Hal, and the mountain, indicating, "How did you manage that?"

"I remember the Corps has some really strict rules, right? And those little blue guys consider the Emotional Spectrum as their property and won't let anyone mess around. How could you do it right under their noses...?"

Lucifer's commentary trailed off, but in the end, he returned his focus to Shiller, without needing a second thought, he knew that it must have been his Pope's doing.

"Let me introduce you." Shiller stood up, stretched out his hand and pointed at Hal, saying, "The supreme Green Lantern Leader, the Leading Integrity Department of Green Lantern Corps, Green Lantern Corps Logistic Bureau in Chief, Green Lantern Academy Honorary Headmaster, Chief Investigator of Green Lantern Energy Theft Case, and the greatest candidate for Green Lantern of all time - Hal Jordan!"

Lucifer slapped his forehead.

"I didn't really intend for this happen," Hal looked completely innocent, "It's simply that my comrades held me in high regard, and they really couldn't find anyone else."

Looking at Hal's expression, Lucifer realized that the situation wasn't entirely Shiller and Hal's fault, as the main weakness of the Green Lantern Corps is that all its members are, and can only be, users of Green Lantern energy.

Normally, after important items are stolen, the victims should immediately contact an authoritative third-party for investigation. However, in the Ring Corps, there is no third party.

Those who can't use the Lantern ring don't understand energy, and those who can are all suspects. The Little Blue People don't trust other cosmos organizations, so the only option left is to choose the less suspicious ones from among the suspects, and establish an investigation team.

As everyone knows, historically, an internal investigation rarely yields results.

Hal masked his true intentions perfectly. He showed absolute loyalty and obedience to the Little Blue People, presenting himself as an exemplary Police Organization leader. The Little Blue People suspected him, but also needed him as a role model.

So in just a year or two, Hal and his previously subverted colleagues exerted their efforts simultaneously, creating discrepancies and resolving them. They boosted Hal into a high-position and within a short period, they managed to drain almost all the energy from the Total Furnace.

Following their previous plan, they secretly channeled the Green Lantern energy into certain weapons and machines. After locking, they sold these to other civilizations, asking them to renew the energy at expiration, thereby earning them plenty of resources from other civilizations.

But because they did not dare to make too much noise, it was a small-scale retail operation, and that's why so much energy was left for Hal.

Shiller gently knocked on the table with the bottom of the wine bottle, and said, "You should know how powerful Green Lantern Energy is for ordinary people. Even gifted Green Lanterns like Hal can't help but be tempted by so much energy."

"I have a lot to do, so I don't have time to supervise these energies. But it would be such a waste to just let them sit there. We all hope that these valuable energies can contribute as soon as possible to the construction of the cosmos. And at this time, we need an authoritative and impartial third party to supervise who can and cannot use it."

Lucifer put his hand on his forehead and said, "Can you remember that you are my pope?! And you're also an angel??!! You not only initiated this operation secretly, but you even want to drag me on board your pirate ship?!... For the sake of our relationship, I'll pretend I didn't hear a thing."

Shiller ignored him and continued smoothly, "This job is so arduous and busy, it's non-stop all year round. So this third party must be very hardworking and dedicated."

"Furthermore, it is better if they know important figures from Heaven, Hell, and the World and their likes, tempers, and character. They should be erudite and widely read."

"Of course, they should also have some industries in the World. To cover up this underground trade which can't be given a formal platform, this requires a certain amount of wealth and courage, after all, those Blue Skins are no pushovers."

"Of course, the person who reaps such precious and valuable resources will naturally become a desired target, and should have a strong willpower, not to be corrupted by wealth or power and must be realistic and impartial."

"Stop talking!" Lucifer covered one of his eyes, "No matter how much you flatter me, it won't work! Isn't this just fencing stolen goods?!!"

Yet, Shiller just smiled, and Hal instantly knew what he was about to say. So he preemptively said,

"Actually, those self-proclaimed Guardians of the Universe, the Blue Skins are the real thieves. They have monopolized the Emotional Spectrum Energy that exists naturally in nature."

"Originally, this kind of naturally existing energy can be exploited and used by different races. But they created the Lantern Furnace, extracted all the energy, and locked it up. Only the people they designate are allowed to use it."
