Chapter 1715 - Chapter 1163 Professor (26)_2

"You damned monster!!!" the female mage cursed. "You Gothamites are all beasts, all deranged and unreasonable! The glory of the Archangels will descend from Heaven, purifying everything!"

Following her resounding outcry sent across the sky, a dazzling light shone from the clouds... shone from the clouds... shone...

Clark stepped out of the bookstore, looking up at the dark clouds hovering over Gotham. The clouds were split open at one moment, then closed the next, creating a chasm, then closing it again.

Clark scratched the head of Bat Cat while looking upwards, saying, "What's going on? What kind of strange optical phenomenon is this?"

Zatanna stepped out and also looked up at the ever-opening and closing dark clouds. Miss Magician scratched her head with her magic wand and said, "I can sense Gabriel's aura. He seems to be above the cloud layer. Why isn't he coming down?"

With a sigh, the Bat Cat in Clark's arms said, "Doesn't he need to split open the clouds first, in order to come down?"

Clark and Zatanna stood shoulder to shoulder. After a while, the two standing in front of the bookstore turned into five — four people including a cat — all staring at the sky as one, watching the optical spectacle.

Clark hesitated and said, "He isn't able to...split the clouds, is he?"

"I think you should go help him," Bat Cat suggested, looking up at Clark. "Otherwise, we'll be stuck here, watching his spectacle."

After considering Bat Cat's words, Clark tossed his bag to Zatanna and placed Bat Cat into Shiller's embrace.

Apart from Shiller, nobody knew what Clark was up to. To their astonishment, Clark took off and headed right into the clouds.

Harley's mouth gaped open, her jaw almost dropping to the floor. What followed was even more shocking — a figure with bright white wings burst out from the clouds. It was clear that he hadn't chosen to fly out willingly.

Clark trailed after him aggressively, punching him again and again. The great white wings were filled with flying feathers. Clark threw an uppercut, lifting the winged 'angel' off the clouds, before raising his arms high and bringing down two elbows hard.

"Boom!!!"

Thomas, Zatanna, Shiller, and Harley looked at the hapless 'angel' in the center of the crater, and at Clark, who had just gotten back up.

Shrugging, Clark said, "These days, anyone dares pretend to be an angel."

Turning back, he glanced at the 'angel' in the smoking pit and said dismissively, "If you're going to pretend to be an angel, at least make a grand entrance. How could an angel's descent be blocked by mere clouds?"

Clark shook his head, bewildered by the other's antics, and strode out of the pit. After a few seconds, the 'angel' in the pit coughed out smoke, staggering to his feet.

Shiller shielded his eyes, trying to see the 'angel's' face, to figure out which version of Gabriel this was. Before he could get a clear view, however, the frantic screech of brakes came from the street corner.

"Screech!!!"

A sleek black sports car sped around the corner, tires screeching against the pavement, black smoke rising. The Bat emblem on the car hood indicated that this was the Batmobile belonging to Batman, but the one driving was not Batman, but a child, with another child in the passenger seat.

Behind the Batmobile, there was another car, also speeding, chasing after the Batmobile. The driver's face was fully bound with bandages, but with his exposed eyes, it was obvious that his expression was fierce, filled with anger.

"Get out of the way!!!" Jason leaned out from the co-pilot seat and shouted.

"Tim! Brake!" Batman's cape flew high, and he leaped from the rooftop of a building, using a high lock to swing and land on top of the Batmobile.

"I can't brake!!!!!" Tim shouted back.

Tim glanced at the Batmobile's control panel. As Jason was about to stop him, Tim found and pounded a button he found visually appealing.

In an instant, the Batmobile lost control. The car spun, collided with a lamp post on the side, and spiraled into the air.

Seeing such a large car flying towards her, Zatanna widened her eyes and prepared to teleport with a swing of her magic wand.

Luckily, she remembered that there were ordinary people nearby. When the magical brilliance lit up, the nearest Thomas, Shiller and Harley were all teleported by her to the roof of a nearby building.

The angel in the big pit on the road was just getting up when he saw an out-of-control black car rushing towards him. He disdainfully flapped his wings, trying to fan the car away, but the next second, he was hit and sent flying.

After Batman landed with a roll, his voice sounded inside the Batmobile: "Hold on! Prepare to eject!"

In the front row, Tim and Jason, as well as Dick and Aisha in the back seat, all grabbed their seat belts tightly. Accompanied by the sound of mechanical friction, the sunroof of the Batmobile opened. Batman pushed a button on his arm and "fssst," the seats were ejected out of the car.

All the seats had safety devices. Therefore, when Dick and Tim's seats landed, apart from making them nauseous after crawling out, no harm was done.

Jason's seat was ejected right into a lamp post on the side of the road, smashing into the facade of a bookstore and shattering the entire arched window before finally stopping in the center of the store after several rolls.

Aisha's seat was the unluckiest. After being ejected, it hit the car that had been chasing them from behind. It then bounced forward and knocked the angel who had just gotten up back to the ground.

The angel rocketed into mid-air by flapping his wings. Aisha, dizzy from the ejection, saw a glowing creature flailing in front of her and bit into it.

A cry of pain attracted the attention of Clark, who was supporting himself on a lamp post on the roadside.

He didn't see that it was Aisha biting the angel's wings and thought that Bruce's daughter had been captured. He roared and rushed up, catching Aisha.

Aisha refused to release her bite. Clark held her and swung around 360 degrees. The angel, whose wings were trapped in Aisha's mouth, was swept around in a wide arc in the sky.

When Aisha opened her mouth, the angel unwillingly flew out with a "whoosh," crashing into the side of the car that was chasing the Batmobile.

The huge impact drove the car into the buildings on the side of the street. With a "boom," half the street collapsed.

Harley, standing on the rooftop, was dumbfounded by the chaos. She slowly turned her head, looked up at Shiller, and screamed,

"Explosions, aliens, and Batman... I told you, my precautions were necessary!!! My house!!!!!!"
