"Not really," Kang shook his head, "However, I mentioned that I captured a female Loki who holds a larger secret. I suggested we could share it when the time comes. You know, in collaboration, it's always good to have a bargaining chip."
Suddenly, Shiller broke into a mysterious smile, looking at Kang and said, "I guess your collaboration didn't turn out so well, did it?"
Kang smacked the table hard and said, "Thanos, the traitor! He betrayed me! And for a woman, no less!"
Amidst his rage, Kang said, "Thanos turned against me just because I captured female Loki. I can't understand. She was only six or seven when she was captured by the Time Management Bureau. Did he lose his senses over her?"
"Is it a possibility?" Shiller shook his head slightly, "That it's not about male or female, but the fact that without a good scam artist, there would be no good scam busters?"
Kang didn't quite understand what Shiller meant. He remarked ruefully, "Thanos lived up to his reputation of the Universal Overlord, a master of deception. The Shi'ar Empire's large transfer gate possesses a unique property; in the moment of transfer, no one can activate any power. Thanos used that to his advantage and killed me with fragments of turbulent space during that moment."
Kang revealed a bitter smile, grinding his teeth, "What I didn't expect was, even death in this universe is abnormal!"
"Everything went dark, and then a beautiful and mysterious woman reached out to me..."
"Just as I was about to take her hand, she suddenly let out an angry cry, shrieking 'Thanos, stop pestering me!' and kicked me out."
At this point, Kang's face was expressionless and serene, like a monk in meditation. He continued,
"Through the Shi'ar Empire's transfer gate, I found myself in another unfamiliar Universe Space. When I looked up, I saw an endless Iron Man army in the sky. The eyes in the middle of the sky told me, Iron Man is here."
Kang sighed lightly and said, "At that moment, I knew that I was done for."
"How did you escape from his clutches?" asked Shiller curiously. He didn't believe that Stark would let the kidnapper of his father get away, moreover, by then, Conqueror Kang had probably been worn down to less than a tenth of his fighting power, which by logic, shouldn't have allowed him to escape.
Kang shook his head, "I was completely devastated, I felt hopeless. When Iron Man attacked, I even felt a sense of relief."
"Indeed, I died again, but unexpectedly, I met Death once more, who yelled 'Don't come near me with people sent by Tony Stark!', and kicked me out again."
Kang's tone hadn't much variation. He continued, "I don't understand why even death discriminates against me? I thought death was the only fair thing in this world."
"Even if I have nothing, do I not deserve death?"
"At the time, I was in despair, rambling about my past, my childhood memories, and such. I don't quite remember."
"Then, I was knocked unconscious by Iron Man. When I awoke, I was in a rehabilitation center, where I met you, Doctor Shiller."
Kang looked at Shiller and stated, "You might not believe it, but I've never seen a doctor before, nor has anyone ever acknowledged me as the victim."
"Others force authority upon me, and I in turn force it upon others, constantly proving myself to be strong. Only by conquering others can I forget my weaker days."
"At that time, I was still in a state of collapse, completely unresponsive. But when you suggested I go out and see the world, not knowing what else to do, I embarked on travel around Earth with a 'can't die anyway' self-abandonment attitude..."
"I have to admit, this universe is truly fascinating. During the journey, my eyes were opened."
"There are many strong individuals here." Kang frowned, "But none of them work to demonstrate their power like I do."
"They each have their ideals and missions, different personalities and characters. They overlap in some ways, could be the best of friends, but they could also have differing opinions in other areas and choose not to cooperate. Yet, they are still able to fight together for a better future and grand ideals."
"Not a single one became strong simply to flaunt their power." Kang shook his head and said, "Nor did any of them strengthen themselves just for the sake of getting stronger."
"They first have certain tasks, missions they want to complete, and then they push themselves to enhance their abilities."
"I asked every single one of them..." A glimmer shimmered in Kang's eyes as he said, "Everyone knew very clearly what they needed to do and why they were improving themselves."
"But I didn't have the answer..."
"I didn't know what I was conquering for."
"Power? But I don't actually enjoy ruling so many universes, and I don't have the ability to. Wealth? Funnily enough, after plundering so many universes, the only tangible assets I have are my laboratory and the Time Management Bureau."
"Did I feel joy in the process of conquest? Perhaps at the moment of victory, but then endless emptiness would drive me onto the next conquest."
Kang leaned his head back on the couch pillow, staring at the ceiling,
"Actually, I am a power supremacist. The biggest shock this universe brought me is that everyone with a clear goal demonstrates a strength far greater than mine."
"As for me, I haven't improved or innovated for I don't know how many years. That's why I was so eager to break into Stark building to find out."
"It turns out, the peak that I knew wasn't the true peak. If I want to see what's at the top of the mountain, I first need to find a goal to motivate myself to keep climbing."
Kang laughed lightly, shrugged his shoulders, and said, "I found The Sanctum in this universe quite interesting, coincidentally, I also enjoy traveling to different dimensions and universes. So, I applied for a job there."
"Not to brag, but I took the top sales award of the year within a year of employment, God of Mischief and Supreme Magician, they're nothing special."
Shiller clapped lightly, "This is the most interesting story I've heard this year, I think, the top sales award of The Sanctum this year might still be yours."
Kang revealed a smug smile. But just then, Shiller's room suddenly morphed into a cosmos. Shiller turned around to see Eternity holding another Kang in his hand.
Eternity tossed that Kang in front of Shiller, grumpily stating, "You've caused a big mess in the main world!"
"More importantly, you shut the subway door. Do you know how far I ran?"
Shiller, not at all fearstruck, scoffed,
"Had I not closed the subway door, would you get a chance to run back?"
