First, he was badly beaten by his own counterparts in the big world. When he finally escaped, he found himself trapped in a place where he had to spend thousands of years continuously attempting different methods of escape.
But what made Conqueror Kang feel on the verge of a breakdown was that he had no idea why all of this was happening.
He didn't know what had happened. After he had been sent on a mission, he came back to find his home gone. And if he wanted to return home, he had to spend a few thousand years playing escape room games first. When he finally managed to get out, he found that not much had changed in the cosmos – the only one who had suffered was him.
After a moment of thought, Loki realized that the mess Shiller had created wouldn't be easily solved by Conqueror Kang. He must have paid a hefty price to get back.
So she sneered, "Has anyone ever told you? You look like a drowned dog, Director."
"I don't wish to liaise with an alien who hasn't bathed in a few thousand years and reeks. You stink more than the undefeated kid at the Asgard Martial Training Field."
The next second, Loki felt as if she was being choked by an invisible force. She could feel her own time running slower gradually but was powerless to reverse it.
Conqueror Kang's face darkened completely, but he quickly regained his composure, looking at Loki and said, "It appears you have not changed at all over the years. Need me to remind you? You're merely the garbage and waste Odin threw out of Asgard."
"Both you and Thor are Odin's children, but the throne is hers. Do you know why? It's because you are too unpleasant. Nobody in Asgard likes you, and neither do they here..." said Conqueror Kang looking at Loki.
"Listen, Loki, we share the same fate," Conqueror Kang said in a moderated tone. "When I was young, I was also the one ostracized. I know how vicious those people can be. I know how much pain you bear."
"We are similar, and I can completely understand your sorrow. I brought you here without hurting you because I want people like us to unite and show them what we are capable of."
"Don't you want to take revenge? Don't you want them to feel your suffering?"
To Conqueror Kang's surprise, Loki shook her head and said, "During the time you were away, I've done a lot of thinking..."
"Let's hear it then." Conqueror Kang walked in front of Loki, bending over with his hands propped on the armrests, looking down at her.
"I've come to terms with it." Loki tilted her head slightly to meet Kang's gaze. "The throne should indeed be Thor's, because she is superior to me. I will recognize her as the new queen of Asgard and serve as her most loyal subject, pledging my eternal loyalty to her."
Conqueror Kang's eyes slowly widened as he stared at Loki with disbelieving eyes. He even reached out to touch her forehead, then his own.
"What did you just say?!" Conqueror Kang asked loudly.
"I said, I recognize Thor as..."
"The sentence before that!"
"During the time you were away, I've done a lot of thinking..."
"Bullshit!" Conqueror Kang cursed, rose, and began to pace rapidly inside the room. His anger had become difficult to conceal.
This unprovoked misfortune itself was enough to infuriate him, but what was even worse was that the consequences it brought were even greater than he had imagined.
The shallow and ignorant little girl, who used to be easy to tease, has now grown mature?!
Because he didn't take advantage of the situation to interrogate Loki immediately, he might have missed the best chance to extract secrets from her. Conqueror Kang was almost driven mad with frustration.
Conqueror Kang was not usually emotionally volatile. If he could identify his revenge target, he would remain calm and wait for the perfect opportunity. But the problem was, he couldn't even find his enemy.
More infuriating was the fact that just after he expressed to Loki, "I too was bullied before. We are the same," Loki chose to switch sides and join the bullies, pledging to be loyal to them. This made Conqueror Kang look like a clown performing for the blind.
Unable to contain his rage, Conqueror Kang violently turned around and fiercely stared at Loki's face, grinding his teeth, he spat out,
"You swear loyalty to those vicious people who once bullied you?! You spineless traitor! It's because of people like you that they dare to be so rampant... I will make you pay!"
After saying this, he reached out to strangle Loki's neck, but the next second, another pair of hands rose from Loki's arms. Clearly, what was held in the chair were mere illusions of her arms.
Loki caught Kang's arm, seemingly resisting him instinctively due to the pain of suffocation, but it only triggered an evil smile on Kang's face. He let go of her and retreated a few steps.
Conqueror Kang saw the illusion of Loki's arms disappear gradually, but didn't pay it any heed, because he knew that no one could escape his clutches.
The next second, a dagger appeared in his hand. He returned to Loki's side, bent down, and gently tapped Loki's cheek with the cold edge of the dagger, saying, "Loyal subject, eh?"
"Slit!"
The dagger's cold light flashed, and Loki's face turned to the side.
When she turned her face back, a long cut appeared on her cheek.
Conqueror Kang slowly brought his face close to Loki's, until their noses almost touched. He scrutinized Loki's eyes, seeking fear and pain within them.
But there were no strong emotions in Loki's eyes. Conqueror Kang only saw a hint of amusement in her gaze.
Loki stretched out her hands and firmly grabbed onto Kang's face, looking into his eyes.
A fascinating light emerged in Loki's eyes. Conqueror Kang was momentarily captivated, and didn't notice the blood that dripped from Loki's jaw onto Mjölnir hanging around her waist.
A few seconds later, a flash of lightning with unparalleled power was upon him, a roar echoing through the sky.
"Loki!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Crash!!!!!!!!"
Watching Conqueror Kang lying on the ground struck by lightning, Loki slowly knelt down next to him from her chair.
Conqueror Kang turned his head. In the midst of his dizziness, he saw that the faint light from outside the window was shining on Loki's face, reflecting a hazy light.
The young girl raised her head and stretched out her hand to touch her face, letting the blood flow from her fingertips into her palm. When she held her blood in her hand, it was like holding a piece of deep red silk.
In her eyes, there was no laughter or pride, only an innocent cruelty.
Conqueror Kang heard a soft white light and the girl's gentle sigh floating together into the roaring thunder outside.
"A loyal subject? No..."
"He is my loyal subject."
