As this anomaly of a power fluctuation swept over the whole Earth, besides Loki and Doctor Strange, Thor, who was having dinner at Eddie's place, also noticed something odd right away. He jumped up and rushed to the window to look out.
At this moment, Venom emerged from Eddie's body, going over to the window and peering out. However, Eddie's human eyes could not see anything amiss, so he could only rely on information from Venom's symbiotic system to determine what was happening on a higher dimensional plane.
Soon, Eddie took a step back, picked up his phone, and dialed a number. But no one picked up. He called a few more times to no avail. Then, he hung up the phone and said, "Iron Man might be in trouble."
Shiller, who had been somewhat sluggish and was sitting at the dining table, suddenly gripped the dinner knife tightly and shaking his head forcefully, said, "Jarvis... we need to find Jarvis!"
"I called, but no use." Eddie sighed, "Unless he has deserted the contact information he gave me before…"
Thor wiped his mouth, took out his phone, and said: "The Stark Building gave Asgard an official hotline, this number will never be abandoned…"
Having said this, Thor awkwardly dialed the number using his massive hand. Still, the busy tone was all that came from the other end. Eddie shook his head and said, "It seems Jarvis is also in trouble."
Shiller pointed his finger to Eddie's smartphone sitting across the table. Eddie followed his gesture and picked it up. Shiller told him, "Dial '3' for emergencies and ask for Ultron."
Not long after, Ultron's voice came from the phone: "Jarvis has gone entirely off the grid. All 24 of the lines of communication we shared, as well as the links to the over 140 labs he oversees, have all gone quiet. Sir, Jarvis might be in trouble."
"What the hell?! Tony and Jarvis are in trouble together?" Eddie gripped the phone and frowned. Thor, however, shook his head. "It's likely that Tony is in trouble because Jarvis is. Haven't you noticed the rage in Tony's power?"
"But how could Jarvis be in trouble?" Eddie asked, bewildered: "He's the most formidable intelligent life in the world. As long as there is a human network, he should be fine."
"Take me... Take me to the Stark Building…" Shiller stuttered, "Take me there now!"
Eddie noticed that Shiller seemed much clearer now. He hesitated for a moment, then said to Thor, "Let's go to the Stark Building. We need to find out what exactly is happening."
The three of them took Shiller to the Stark Building. With Jarvis no longer in control, there were no security measures in place, and they easily reached the laboratory where Stark was usually at.
Then they saw Loki and Doctor Strange fretting in front of a computer, and behind them was Stark's body on the lab table.
"Oh, dear heavens, you've arrived just in time!" Loki said sarcastically, "Any later and we would've saved the world by now."
Upon seeing Stark's body, the three reacted differently. Eddie was taken aback, finding it unbelievable and at a loss as to how things could have gone so wrong.
Thor, however, can see beyond the physical body and noticed that Stark's spirit was missing. It wasn't a usual death, so he guessed that Stark might have used death to do something else.
Meanwhile, Shiller was stupefied. As an amalgamation of two personalities, reasoning told him that Stark hadn't died, after all, a colossal Iron Demon God was currently floating beyond the cosmos. Nonetheless, being confronted with the scene of Iron Man's death still brought enough shock.
It was Shiller's first time facing a real-life superhero's death scene unprepared.
This was in reality, not in comic book panels. It meant confronting his corpse, not merely hearing the news. It was out of his plan, not manipulated by him.
Hearing the news of death and facing a death scene are entirely different. Many people, at the moment they first hear the news of a death, might feel a deep sadness, might wail, might be unable to control their emotions.
Yet, if they face the bodies of their deceased loved ones and friends, some people would act very numb and can't even cry.
This is because the shock of life and death has overshadowed their sadness. The impact of reality deprives any potential for sadness to emerge. Once their brain gets filled with disorderly thoughts, they won't even cry.
Shiller created a plan to kill superheroes and send them to Heaven but does not carry it out personally. He just makes the plan and wait for news of its execution.
When confronting Stark directly, it was Stark himself who changed his magic core and the soul left the body to follow Shiller to Heaven. He wasn't killed by Shiller directly.
Shiller discovered that when he saw Stark's body, the images that came to mind were not those from the comics but the times they shared in real life. It was as if Tony Stark before him and the Iron Man he knew from the comics were completely different.
