Chapter 1551 - Chapter 1044: Shocking the Worldly People (21)_1

Peter, who was waiting in front of the emergency room, seemed a bit anxious, fiddling with his spider-silk launcher on his wrist, examining the spiderweb design on his chest, standing up, then sitting down again.

Matt was getting a headache from his restlessness and said: "Peter, Peter, calm down. I know you're worried about Schiller, but you need to understand, the two people in there are amongst the world's top-most surgeon and Supreme Magician, the best Scientist, and the best good guy in the world. With these three together, there is no one that can't be saved."

"No, no, I just have a feeling that it's not that simple," said Peter. His breathing quickened, his chest rising and falling rapidly he further articulated, "I know, the doctor won't die, but I always feel... feel like... something is about to happen."

Matt paused for a moment, realizing: Peter has his spider-sense. The way he's acting now, perhaps something untoward is about to happen.

So he stood up, placed his hand on Peter's shoulder, and said, "Do you remember the mental technique I taught you? Yes, follow the breathing rhythm of meditation, inhale... exhale... inhale... exhale... relax your muscles... follow your spiritual guidance…"

Guided by Matt, Peter gradually calmed down, but he did not open his eyes. Matt, in a silent understanding, asked, "In the scene of your meditation... what do you see..."

"The universe... the stars…" Peter murmured, eyes still closed. "In a starry sky... countless stars are twinkling…"

"The stars are twinkling, then what? Do their twinkles follow any pattern? Or what else did you see?" Matt continued to inquire.

"The twinkling... it's rhythmic... stars, stars that had been extinguished, they're returning ..."

At this point, Peter suddenly came to, gasping for air, and asked Matt, "What just happened? What did I see?"

"Don't be afraid, Peter. This is a meditation technique taught to me by Stick. It's a unique Eastern technique."

"It comes from the Kunlun in China. The Chinese call this 'heaven-human induction.'" Matt pronounced it in Chinese, then translated it: "Basically, ancient Chinese cultivators believed that there was a special power that connected humans to heaven. If they meditated in a special way, they could receive revelations from heaven."

"I thought that this might be somewhat related to your spider-sense, so I taught you this technique before."

Peter replied with some confusion: "Didn't you say that this technique is used to quickly recover stamina? I used it during a fight before, it was quite effective."

"Yes, but that's only one of its features. I never thought it would be successful. Maybe you were very focused just now and saw that kind of scene."

Matt released Peter's shoulder, pacing a little in the hallway, rhetorically asking, "'The stars are returning'... What does that mean? I don't understand this kind of destiny revelation. Maybe I'll ask Steven when he comes out…"

Peter also could not understand what he had just seen. He said: "I indeed have a premonition, but it's not a bad hunch. It's just that the progression of events... might completely surpass our expectations…"

"Never mind, there's no use in our worrying here; rather..."

Just as Matt was about to suggest Peter to eat to regain his strength and prepare for whatever followed, the door of the emergency room opened out.

Stark, Strange, and Steve came out one by one, each with a solemn and somewhat baffled expression.

"How is he?" Peter immediately asked, "Hows is Doctor Schiller? Did his bleeding stop?"

"The blood has stopped, but... the person... he's disappeared." Stark sounded confused. "The array had just started up and Schiller had gone 'woosh' and disappeared. Steven checked all the surrounding dimensions, and there was no sign of him."

"Could the magic have gone wrong?" Strange was even more confused, "Magicians have conducted this kind of healing spell thousands of times, how could it go wrong? And even if it did go wrong, it wouldn't have resulted in spatial teleportation, right?"

"I told you magic isn't reliable!" Stark immediately raised his voice. "Relying on those vague records from the books is utterly useless! Never mind, Jarvis, help me connect to Loki…"

After Loki's call was connected, Stark paid, or rather, gave him energy to ask for his help in searching for Schiller's trace in the surrounding dimensions.

Hearing that Schiller had been injured and disappeared, Loki was more worried than Stark. He hurriedly barged into Thor's dorm, only to find that Sif was also there. He was about to awkwardly retreat, but Sif was even more embarrassed.

Clearing his throat, Thor asked, "Loki, both Sif and I were discussing fleet restructuring, is there something else?"

Loki quickly found a way to avoid feeling awkward. He simply transformed into Loki, giving Sif a teasing smile like a sister. Sif was even more embarrassed.

Then, Loki told Thor, "Schiller Rodriguez has disappeared."
