"After a hospital examination, it was found there were problems with Obadiah's nervous system. The reason being, when he was young, he experimented on himself with bio-mecha. He allowed an imperfect bio-mecha to connect with his own nervous system. From that moment, his nervous system had already suffered damage. Without timely treatment, it led to residual effects,"
"Obadiah's condition is not optimistic, the hospital told Mr. Stark that apart from conservative treatment, surgery is possible. However, due to the high difficulty of the surgery, it requires a highly skilled, experienced surgeon…"
"Mr. Stark intended to find Strange, but because he was too worried about Obadiah's condition at the time, he missed many of Connors' phone calls and application reports. Approximately thirty seconds after the expiration of the second report, Strange received the news that his father had died."
"Mr. Stark returned to Stark Building, only to find a frenzied Strange, who also happened to be a frenzied Supreme Magician."
"An overly angry Strange felt that Mr. Stark did not want to take risks, and deliberately refused to give him the medicine, indirectly causing his father to lose a chance at salvation."
"When Mr. Stark asked Strange to operate on his uncle, Strange angrily refused him, and said this was his retribution. Mr. Stark too, felt extremely angry."
"As a result, the two of them started fighting, turning the lab into its current state."
After hearing the entire story, Shiller stood dumbfounded in place, still not comprehending how things had escalated to their current state at such a lightning-fast speed.
But Jarvis's story was not over, he continued, "After Old Osborn returned to the group, he immediately donned the most advanced battle armor, equipped himself with bomb weapons, and planned to exact revenge on Stark Group."
"But Young Osborn thought his father was going to confront Spider Man fully armed, so he chose to stop his own father."
"Old Osborn was extremely angry that his son dared to defy him. The father and son had a serious fight. S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and Spider Man both tried to mediate the situation, but to no avail."
"Meanwhile, Mr. Stark and Strange were not content to fight only within the lab. They both rushed to Earth's near orbit, where they entered another round of battle."
"But, they acted too swiftly and hastily, and didn't notice Miss Lorna who was managing traffic through magnet fields. Strange used a kind of magic not recorded in my database, slightly similar to a gravitational trap, which caused the magnetic fields Lorna was controlling to become disrupted. She was hurled outwards, breaking two ribs."
"Before long, the leader of the Mutant Brotherhood, Magneto, returned to Earth to pick up new interns to go to the Andromeda Galaxy. When he found out his daughter had been injured for no reason, he descended directly to Earth's near orbit, disturbing several satellites, causing unrest on parts of the surface."
"Congress was very displeased, other governments also had complaints, believing this to be another result of mutants acting willfully. Many citizens in many countries demanded that their government once again tighten policies against mutants…"
Shiller was already feeling dizzy, Jarvis appropriately paused his narration to give Shiller a breather, but Shiller shook his hand and said, "Tell me all the bad news at once…"
"Because the lab was destroyed and the transportation route of the sky train was also destroyed, the construction projects of all stations may be delayed... Dr. Shiller! Dr. Shiller! Are you okay???"
Shiller leaned against the wall, holding his forehead and saying, "I'm okay, I'm fine, I just need to calm down…"
He then pulled over a relatively intact stool, sat down next to an experiment table by the wall that hadn't collapsed yet. He was silent for a while, then asked, " ... Jarvis, is there any cold beer?"
"Sir, I believe, given your current state…"
"I know you don't have any snacks here, so just give me some cold beer."Shiller's hands began to shake slightly. He reached into his pocket unsteadily and took out a bottle of medicine."
With some effort, he twisted off the cap. With a trembling hand, he poured out more than a dozen pills, didn't even look and just threw them into his mouth. Jarvis' attempts to stop him using the robot's arm was a step too slow and so he just stood in silence."
Shiller stood up, seemingly wanting to leave, but soon, JARVIS brought over several boxes of ice-cold beer and Shiller sat back down.
"Sir, this is not your fault at all, it was just an accident," JARVIS thought for a moment and said. Even though his personality module wasn't perfect yet, he had learned how to console someone.
Shiller guzzled down a can of beer in a few gulps and after taking a sip, he slammed the can down onto the table, saying, "No, this is of course related to me, do you know? I am a gambler..."
"I am used to turning nothing into something, to wager small for big returns, to invest a little with the hope of a huge return. I am so greedy...reckless..."
Shiller's hand applied a bit of force, his pale knuckles turning blue. He gradually crushed the can in his hand. The slow action somehow seemed to carry the weight of a thousand pounds.
JARVIS had never heard him speak with such a dark tone before, sounding like a gambler who had fallen into madness.
"Not only do I want to win, but I also want to take it all."
Shiller finished the last sip of his beer, threw the can aside, wiped his mouth as if making up his mind, and said to JARVIS, "Find a car to take me back."
"Sir, I think you should..."
Shiller cast a silent look at JARVIS. All JARVIS could do is nod and say, "Alright, I'll contact Ultron to pick you up..."
Two hours after Shiller's departure, Stark returned grumbling and mumbling, "If it wasn't for Magneto, I'd definitely give Steven a good beating... And by the way, JARVIS, how's Uncle Obadiah?"
"Sir Obadiah's condition is stable, but I think, Doctor Shiller's condition isn't good, or rather, it's extremely bad."
Hearing JARVIS's serious voice, Stark was surprised. Looking at the numerous empty beer cans at the side of the lab table, he said, "Don't tell me that Shiller was the one who drank all these. Doesn't he not drink?!"
Stark realized how serious the situation was and immediately flew off in his Iron Armor towards the sanatorium where Shiller was staying. However, he found out that Shiller had already moved back to his clinic.
On his way to the clinic, Stark came across Strange. Stark knew that Strange probably wanted to find Shiller to resurrect his father.
Stark scoffed without saying anything. At this point, even the slightly calmer Strange realized that it wasn't Stark's fault.
As they each went their separate ways, they ran into Steve, who was coming to seek medication from Schiller, Peter who was worried that the fight with the Green Goblin might affect the clinic, and Matt, who wanted to share some good news with Shiller.
As they all gathered at the entrance of the clinic, just as they were about to open the rolling shutter, Matt shouted, "Wait! There's the smell of blood inside!"
Immediately, everyone fell into a defensive stance. Steve, with his shield at the ready, was the first to approach the rolling shutter. As soon as the door opened, the scene inside left everyone in shock.
Shiller was leaning on a couch in the middle of the living room. Empty liquor bottles piled up around his feet, virtually forming a mountain. The couch was covered in empty medicine bottles, with countless white pills scattered around.
There was a long wound from Shiller's right lower jaw to his left collarbone, blood was gushing out from it. His dreary eyes were half-closed, dilating.
What shocked everyone the most was that his other hand was inside the wound on the side of his neck, constantly pulling the wound apart, allowing blood to flow down his chest, staining his white coat into a bright red color.
