Shiller's chewing motion paused for a moment, then he said, "If you really want to stop him, my suggestion would be to put this room behind my room. You should know, there is no stopping that little fellow."
"I was thinking the same thing, after all, to contain a personality trait as fundamentally human as Greed, only a complete Arrogant could accomplish it." Superego jabbed another piece of meat with his fork and fed it to Shiller.
"When the High Tower descended, what I saw was not a person, but a whirlpool and a black hole, or say, this power has grown so vast that it has created a singularity within this body."
"I don't know if this can be described scientifically, but the impression I had was something like this, and subsequent events proved my prediction right."
"When I discovered I could manipulate this power freely, the first thing I did was using it to repair our battered Tower of Thought. I assumed there would be no issue with that, scars may signify memory, but if they can be healed, a pristine tower would certainly look better."
Shiller nodded, indicating his agreement with Superego's point, and then Superego continued, "After that, I began to consider how to use this power to tackle our pressing issues: how to secure our existence and safety in the world of comic books."
"Of course, I also had to consider another issue: I could not let many of our personality fragments know about it, particularly Greed, Morbid, Glutton, etc. - the ones that might swallow up this power."
"You only need to mention Greed, none of the other personality traits would go this crazy. If he knows about it, he'd consume it regardless of whether it would kill him."
"Sometimes, his behavior really makes me reflect, how could I be such a greedy person?" Shiller shook his head.
"Hence, when I was planning my strategies, I needed to ensure two things - addressing the safety issue, and preventing Greedy from any suspicion."
"Fortunately, you two are separate personality traits, while Greed has a stronger driving force, it shows no interest in analysis nor puzzle-solving. It mainly acts on greed's instinct, so, a simple reasonable explanation that suits our common understanding can shield this power."
"So, you created the standard system for transmigrators," Shiller said, he then paused and said, "No,That's not right. The system you created has the ability to chat with characters from other worlds. How did you make that happen?"
"As I have said before, this power resembles a singularity that is compressed to an extreme point. It is fundamentally distinct from the powers brought back by Greedy Shiller. Those other powers are more akin to energy, while this power can change reality."
Superego turned to look at Shiller, who was sitting in the chair. He frowned, then said, "You're breathing too fast. It's best to calm down. This power doesn't have the ability to transport us back."
Shiller gave himself a moment to regain composure before Superego resumed, "Just as you speculated, the system notifications are me speaking."
"Because this power is so strong that it can distort reality, it really can allow us to communicate across worlds or even mimic the abilities of others... oh, no, it's not really mimicking, it's more like I leverage this power to create abilities similar to those of others based on your actions."
Shiller paused before responding, "No wonder, the system you created has no flashy features, not even a store, let alone a roulette wheel, lottery, or item exchange functions."
"If I wanted, I could. But we both know it's unnecessary. I even made no effort to hide it. I noticed you called on the system several times later but received no reply simply because I didn't want to respond."
"It's basically that we are already very safe now, right?" Shiller speculated, "Your disguise lacks sincerity, but perhaps it doesn't need to be sincere because Greed wouldn't delve into it."
"No, I'm afraid his greed is even worse than you imagined," Superego shook his head, "Although life is easier in Marvel World, he doesn't waste his spare time."
"When we first arrived there, Greed spent all his spare time trying to trace the system. So much so that I could see his eyes glowing green with greed and his mouth drooling."
Shiller showed a smirk and said, "You didn't get caught up in his guerilla warfare, did you?"
Superego also gave a helpless smile, "Actually, it's even more pathetic than you thought. Honestly, Joker saved me. Once that crazy guy showed up, Greed regarded him as too noisy and became more reclusive."
"I've said it before, he is the craziest among us, he only pursues endless acquisition, no matter what he gets or what he will do with it after that, he only enjoys the pleasure of the moment of obtaining something."
Superego let out a sigh, "However, this power is not infinite, as you can see, intercosmic communication isn't the issue, but creating abilities out of thin air has drained a lot of power."
