From Batman's perspective, his relationship with Clark wasn't what one might call pleasant. After all, when they were at the city mansion, each held their own secrets. The two of them shared a somewhat similar but incongruous aura. When they did not know much about each other, Batman always felt awkward.
However, from Clark's perspective, he enjoyed collaborating with Batman. They were friends who, despite some disagreements, generally held the same goals of justice. Clark believed that if they continued to understand each other better, they could become good friends and partners on the path of justice.
So when Clark discovered that Batman had turned into a monster and even captured his Professor Schiller, he felt doubly betrayed and furious.
In the mayor's mansion in Metropolis, Clark could clearly sense that Schiller and Batman had a better relationship.
To Clark, Schiller must have been a responsible mentor who constantly guided Batman. And now, to see Batman kidnap and torture his own teacher, Clark was instantly filled with rage.
Although at this time Superman was somewhat naive, he didn't make many misjudgments. Given the sight of a terrifying monster holding a badly injured human, there wouldn't be any more logical assumptions.
"Batman! You inhuman monster! How dare you hurt your own teacher?!" Clark was livid. He yelled as he swung his fist at Batman. With a single punch, he twisted Batman's wing. In a fit of rage, he shouted again:
"How could you do something like this?! This is a violation of basic human decency. You could kill your teacher!"
"I didn't hurt him." Batman said while fighting with Clark. But even though his condition was slightly better, he was not good at explaining. More importantly, he didn't want to explain to Clark.
From Batman's perspective, he and Clark were total strangers. Besides, he didn't think Clark and Schiller knew each other well either. So why was Clark so anxious?
To Batman, Clark seemed like a complete beginner, rushing in without knowing the whole story and just throwing punches. It truly boggled the mind.
Batman and Superman had a subtly unique relationship, somewhat akin to that between research staff and security personnel.
Batman was driven by reason, believing that one should always get to the bottom of things, understand the logic, carefully strategize, and leave nothing to chance.
Superman, on the other hand, was more emotionally driven. If something didn't sit right with him emotionally, no matter the reasons or consequences, he would not accept it.
When these two clashed, Batman was too lazy to explain, thinking Superman was making a fuss over nothing. Superman was intensely angry, thinking Batman was heartless. Misunderstandings between them always emerged and faded this way, and this time was their first clash.
The massive Bat Monster realized that such a large body size would not offer any advantages when fighting opponents like Superman. Therefore, Batman reverted to his human form.
That said, Batman's soul strength was at its peak, so a shocking scene unfolded in the skies above Hell. Batman physically battled Superman, the two of them evenly matched in mid-air.
Oliver and Zatanna tried to intervene. Oliver, using Zatanna's power, could fly, but as a regular human, he couldn't participate in the fight.
Zatanna could use her Antilanguage Magic to separate them, but setting up the teleportation portal earlier had drained much of her energy. Her attention lapsed, and the magic wasn't very effective. As soon as she pulled the two apart, they quickly went back to fighting each other.
At this point, the tumbling tower's door suddenly swung open, and Arrogant Schiller crawled out. He stood at the doorway and looked up at the spectacle in the sky.
While watching these two inhuman monsters fight was amusing, Superman's vision was indeed exceptional. As soon as he caught sight of Schiller, he immediately halted his blows and flew towards Schiller.
"Oh my God! Professor, are you okay?!" Clark shouted as he flew, quickly stopping in front of Schiller. He flew around Schiller, inspecting him from head to toe before exclaiming in shock and anger, "What happened?! Why are you so injured?!!"
"...Is this a knife wound? And here near the collarbone... God! It's been penetrated, hasn't it??! What's all this blood?!" Clark took a breath and said, "My God! How could you have such a deep wound on your back? You've lost too much blood; we need to get you to the emergency room immediately!"
"Clark, I'm fine. You and Batman can spar together, especially since you rarely encounter an opponent of equal strength. This should refine your combat skills," Schiller calmly shook his head. Just as he was about to speak, Clark rushed over and worriedly said, "How could you be fine?? These are life-threatening injuries!"
