Chapter 1416 - Chapter 958 Shiller's 'Escape' Journey (Part 2)_3

"Shut up!" Scott hissed through gritted teeth.

"Put the knife down." Batman's face was as still as water, and the sight of Shiller, whose neck was being clasped by Scott, was more disheveled than he had imagined.

The buttons on his suit were entirely undone, his tie knot dissolved and merely hung around his neck. One of the lenses in his glasses was smeared with mud, but from the exposed pupil of his other eye, it appeared he had been injected with an overload of tranquilizers.

"You're violating the Geneva Convention, let him go immediately." Batman marched forward with unwavering steps, which added a significant amount of pressure on Scott.

Scott truly hesitated for a moment. He hadn't expected this mysterious figure to aim straight for the jugular. If Shiller accused them in court of torturing prisoners, it could spark another lawsuit.

Who knew if there were hidden cameras? If this mysterious figure and Shiller were in cahoots, they could use the footage in court to allege forced confessions, which would definitely hinder the trial.

But then, Shiller's weak voice was heard again: "Ask him, on what authority is he obstructing the Federal Bureau of Investigation's lawful enforcement?"

Scott was taken aback, his mouth was about to blurt out Shiller's question, but then he caught himself and was suddenly at a loss for words.

He pondered left and right, yet failed to see any problem with Shiller's question, because it indeed hit the nail on the head.

If Batman were supervising the Federal Bureau of Investigation's enforcement, he would have to do so as an open, legal citizen. Clearly, neither he nor the monstrous crocodile by his side assumed that kind of identity at the moment, so questioning identity was the best choice.

"The execution of law by the Federal Bureau of Investigation today is entirely reasonable and legal, with formal approval documents and arrest warrants. We are completely open to any reasonable monitoring by American citizens, but are you a formal citizen of America?"

Batman paused for a moment, then squinted his eyes. He thought, it seemed like, this time, he had encountered a tough nut to crack.

"You should realize by now, that the terrifying monster pursuing you is not a figment of my imagination." Shiller kept his head down, therefore Batman didn't notice that he was still moving his mouth, despite the rest of his body remaining still.

Scott hesitated somewhat, but he did indeed notice that Shiller's situation was truthful. The man on the other side didn't look like an ordinary person at all, not something their non-combat specialized escort agents could handle.

"Don't think you can defeat him with words, nor believe you can coerce him to provide you with tools to escape. The only way now is to stall him for a few seconds, then you take me and leave directly."

Looking at the terrifying alligator monster, who was sneering at the fallen agent, Scott's hand trembled as he asked in a low voice, "How do I stall him?"

Shiller answered, "I saw in your ammunition stack behind you, apart from hand grenades, there are smoke grenades. That's your only chance of leaving here with me."

"I'm going to teach you now how to make him not attack you. This will buy us at least 30 seconds of time, enough for you to obtain the smoke grenade, and create enough smoke for us to escape."

Scott gripped Shiller's neck and gritted his teeth, "You better have something, you should know, if there is a potential complete failure in our escort mission, we have the authority to directly kill the escorted."

By this time, Batman had nearly arrived in front of the two of them. He knew that he only needed to advance two more steps to reach the optimal position for a violent rescue.

Meanwhile, Shiller who had been keeping his head down murmured unclearly:

"I know, I know... You always want to find a weakness of mine, but have constantly failed. So, until now, I have not used such a despicable method..."

"This is what you asked for, Batman."

Then, Shiller tilted his head slightly, revealing his neck. With a demonic smile, he whispered into Scott's ear:

"See the scar on the side of my neck? Aim at that and give it a slash."

"The further the blood spatters, the safer you are."
