In the end, it was decided that the Skrull Empire would send its Interstellar Colonization Commander while The Supremacy would use a mirror projection on behalf of the Kree Empire. This was tantamount to reaching the highest level of dialogue for the negotiations.
Of course, those two wouldn't be the only ones present. Many generals and other officers would be in attendance as well. Despite not being able to gather them all under one roof, at least half of them were present.
Given the importance of these negotiations, security was a major concern. As none of the parties involved could be trusted with this responsibility, the Shi'ar Empire was given the task of managing it.
The Kree Empire and the Skrull Empire, would each provide compensation to the Shi'ar Empire for setting up the negotiation venue and for deploying defensive lines. However, they had to also take into consideration the possibility of the Shi'ar Empire engaging in sabotage.
As a result, Thor, the Divine King of Asgard far away, was invited. In addition to him, civilizations just below the Three Great Empires were also invited to send witnesses to ensure the security of the negotiations.
After all, it was impossible to bribe hundreds or thousands of civilizations, as each held different interests, which ironically added to the security.
Asgard sent Loki, known for causing chaos throughout the cosmos. Oddly enough, this made the Three Great Empires feel more at ease because while Loki was a trickster, he was not particularly powerful.
If Thor and his Majesty Odin came together, they would have to worry about being taken down in one fell swoop. After all, each Asgardian was like an army unto himself, and with two Divine Kings on the field, it was questionable whether the contingent from the Three Great Empires would be able to hold up.
On the day of the talks, the Spider Nebula was jam-packed. Despite its broad expanse and numerous stars, it was unable to accommodate the numerous ships from several high-profile civilizations, resulting in a congested scene.
On the surface of the negotiation planet, inside the freshly erected base, Loki took a glass of water from a waiter, nodded in gratitude, and then looked out the window.
In the negotiation hall, there was a huge viewing window through which a bright star, with visible patterns, could be seen.
However, this big viewing window was not for admiring the scenery. Outside the window, a green beam appeared out of nowhere, followed by an enormous green face that slowly opened its eyes.
"The Supremacy..." Loki murmured, before quietly speaking in a voice too faint for anyone to hear, "Really ugly, right?"
After the arrival of The Supremacy, the Skrull commanders and generals entered the room. Standing before the viewing window, they began negotiations with The Supremacy in the presence of representatives from several civilizations.
"Your Excellency, The Supremacy, I am the Skrull Empire Interstellar Colonization Commander. Many days ago, a tragedy we all wished to avoid happened on the border of the Kree Empire..."
The two sides began their long official addresses, and just as Loki was growing tired, the Skrull commander finally got to the point, saying, "What you may not know is that many years ago, before the New Skrull Empire was established and our fleet was still navigating, a despicable thief stole one of our main ships. To prevent us from taking extreme measures, he took several hostages, including some top scientists from the Skrull Empire..."
"They wandered to Earth, and His Majesty Odin, the Father of All Gods in Asgard, took them in..." To confirm his words, the commander turned and glanced at Loki. Loki nodded at The Supremacy, signifying that the story was true.
"This spaceship was never deregistered from the Skrull Empire's weapons inventory, so when it crashed, we received the final information transmitted by the ship's black box..."
"The footage shows that the group that had been taken hostage seized the spaceship and intended to return to the Skrull Empire. However, the thief who had initially hidden aboard the ship sought to interfere with their plans. In the end, the ship's control system was damaged, resulting in an unfortunate crash near the First Star Harbor..."
"We regret the damage caused to the Kree Empire Star Port. However, this was truly a coincidental accident..."
Next, the Skrull Empire commander played the recording. After a period of commotion, a voice could be heard saying: "Stop him! Stop him now!! He's going to sabotage the ship's acceleration system..."
"Report! Jump engine failure! The acceleration system is locked..."
"Warning! Warning! Warning! The space stabilizing system is losing control! Warning..."
After a whirlwind of commotion, a powerful explosion erupted, followed by a sinking silence.
The Supreme Wisdom remained silent for a long time before he finally said, "The friendship between the Kree Empire and the Skrull Empire has stretched for millions of years, and has always been very deep. We all did not wish for such a thing to happen. However, since this tragedy has taken place, I must offer an explanation to the Kree population..."
Upon hearing this, the officer from the Skrull Empire unfurrowed his brow, for he knew that it was time to negotiate.
For the Skrull Empire, it wasn't entirely bad news. When they received word of it, the nation virtually erupted into celebration. After all, the humiliation of their fiercest enemies was a significant victory in terms of strategy.
Hence, they were willing to pay a certain cost for the morale boost, given that the populace was not particularly interested in negotiations. The price paid was worth the elevation in morale and public sentiment.
As the Supreme Wisdom was about to speak again, Loki squinted his eyes, revealing a cold smirk, because he saw a black hole suddenly form in front of the star behind the Supreme Wisdom.
It was as if a hole had been burned into the star. All the light surrounding the black hole had vanished. It was the black hole in the binary star system of the Spider Nebula.
However, Loki already knew the peculiarity of this black hole. It was not a black hole evolved from a star, but a mysterious "Dormant Black Hole", not emitting any radiation, noiselessly subtle, like a muted blade held by an assassin.
The next second, the assassin swung his knife. The shimmer of the star paused for a moment before plunging into complete darkness, and when it blinked back into view, it was even more furious.
The explosion of this star almost instantly obliterated the entire planet, yet did not manage to damage the negotiation base.
The technology of the Shi'ar Empire was far superior to that of the sulfur dwarves. Their safe base was able to withstand a star explosion.
But the real killer was the black hole in the binary star system.
This black hole, with a mass sixteen times that of the sun, is a silent killer in the universe. No radiation, small in size, and civilizations that could reach here hardly took it into account.
However, a black hole explosion is more exceptional than a star explosion. When a black hole explodes, it ejects huge jets. If a star explosion is like area magic, then a black hole explosion is like a sniper rifle.
From the moment of its birth, the black hole has been constantly evaporating. As the black hole gets smaller, its emitted radiation grows stronger. Advanced civilizations are wary of these aging black holes, as it is very likely that at the end of its life, it will emit powerful radiation and particle flows.
If the black hole's mass is small, it might only destroy a couple of spaceships, but if it is a supermassive black hole in the center of a large galaxy fully explodes, even the civilizations of the Three Great Empires could potentially be wiped out.
But the dormant black hole hardly emitted any radiation, so it was not noticed by the Shi'ar Empire or any other civilization.
However, a powerful entity that naturally embraced stars, after accumulating for a long time, explodes releasing all its power, igniting the remaining life of the black hole. The intensity of this explosion far exceeded anyone's imagination.
The power of nature is almost irresistible. When the radiant stellar flow burst from the dormant black hole in the binary star system, in a brief moment it pierced through the holographic image of the Supreme Wisdom, like a high-speed rotating sniper bullet, instantly drilling through the entire safety base.
In an instant, all planets, spaceships, and life forms along this straight line vanished, leaving nothing but the hollow darkness of space.
This powerful radiation interfered with the Supreme Wisdom's holographic projection. The massive green face showed a look of fear, flickered a few times, and then disappeared.
The last words he heard before he disappeared, was a declaration echoing throughout the nebula:
"Conquest, victory, and glory all belong to Thanos, Amen!"
