"So, both of us want to stay. What about you, Barack? What do you, Maner, and Talbert think?"
Before Barack could answer, Talbert, disguised as Spider Man, scratched his head and said, "I'm just a guard in the communication room of the Polaris, I've only been on duty for two months before Gana took over this ship."
"I'm very young and inexperienced, just following orders. Whatever General Gana tells me to do, I do it. But this time, the task he gave me was too difficult. I told him I couldn't do it, but he wanted to scold me…"
He shook his head and said, "I'll just follow Captain Barack. Wherever he goes, I go. I feel like I can go anywhere."
Barack thought for a moment and said, "I want to wait for Dr. Maner to return. You all know he's the son of the deputy commander-in-chief. Despite the unhappiness he had with his family over his marriage, he is nonetheless the most well-born among us, with a higher level of education and broader experience."
"But he…" Talos paused, then said, "The fact that Gana was able to successfully board the Polaris may not have been without his help. He wanted to take revenge on his father, so he followed Gana here. If Maner still stands by Gana…"
Barack shook his head and said: "No, he spoke to me before. He asked about our future…"
As Talos was about to speak again to persuade him, Dr. Maner, whom they were speaking of, came in. He was still disguised as Shiller.
Shiller closed the door behind him, looking serious, and said:
"A piece of good news and a piece of bad news, which one do you want to hear first?"
Natasha, transformed by Talos, walked up and patted Shiller's shoulder, saying, "Don't play this game. There are no humans here. Just speak up."
"The good news is that Gana is dead. The bad news is that he died at the First Star Harbor of the Kree Empire."
The people in the room widened their eyes. Shiller continued, "Gana crashed the Polaris into the First Star Harbor of the Kree Empire. The Kree Empire thought it was the Skrull Empire declaring war on them. Now, the rallying cry has sounded and the Supreme Wisdom has issued a level-one war preparation command."
Barack immediately stood up and asked, "What happened? How could Gana crash the Polaris into the First Star Harbor of the Kree? Is he crazy?!! The Kree's First Star Harbor is their pride, attacking it is a slap in their face, the Kree will surely retaliate!"
"Regardless of how he managed to do it, now, we have two options." Shiller took a deep breath and said, "Either Gana is a despicable thief and we are stranded on Earth, helpless and ignorant."
"Or, we can take Gana hostage, try to return to the Skrull Empire, but during the struggle, the out-of-control spaceship cannot continue its homeward journey. We choose to crash directly into the First Star Harbor, performing our duty even in death."
The room immediately fell silent. Talos opened his mouth and said, "This shouldn't be that simple, right? Do we really have a choice?"
"I choose the second one." Barack slammed his hand down on the nearby table, "I don't want to return to the New Skrull Empire, but I also don't want to be seen as a coward. I'm not Gana's lapdog. If all this is inevitably doomed, at least, I can provide some comfort for the families of those who died at the hands of the Kree."
Arengel shrugged and said, "I bet there must be some human conspiracy involved in all of this. If nothing else, the man I'm impersonating, Tony Stark, definitely has the ability to control the Polaris spaceship."
He started to pace around the room and then said, "By doing this, humans are certainly trying to provoke a rift between the Kree Empire and the New Skrull Empire, and then take advantage of the situation to develop themselves…"
As he was saying this, Barack suddenly stood up anxiously and said, "But we cannot allow the Skrull Empire to face another millennium war, many people will die!"
Arengel sneered and said: "When they planned to abandon me, I stopped having any hope for them. But you're right, another millennium war won't do anybody any good."
"But that is exactly why we should take on the second possibility. This is merely a grudge within the Skrull Empire that has inadvertently involved the Kree Empire. Only in this way can all parties save face, and war does not have to be resorted to resolve the issue."
Talos also spoke up and said, "That's right. The Kree Empire's First Star Harbor, from a technical perspective, is certainly relatively backward. Even if it's scrapped, there won't be much damage, and the only issue is that of saving face."
"If the Kree Empire reacts vehemently and begins to retaliate, the Skrull Empire won't take things lying down. This will surely lead to war, something none of us want to see."
"What on Earth are these humans trying to do???" Talbert's facial features were scrunched up as he asked, "Are they mad? Provoking a war between two of the three great empires, aren't they afraid of getting caught in the crossfire?"
"I'm afraid that's exactly what they want, a war that will devour everything in its path." Arengel said, "Don't forget who's territory this is. Even if they cause chaos throughout the cosmos, none would dare to disturb Asgard."
"In the past, Odin was a renowned war maniac in the cosmos. Perhaps it's because he's grown old, or maybe he's suddenly changed his ways, but he's finally grown quiet these past couple of years. Neither the Kree Empire nor the Skrull Empire would dare to casually stir up trouble in Asgard. Once you have Odin's attention, you'll never live in peace."
Upon hearing this, the expressions of the other Skrulls in the room darkened; it was apparent they had all heard of Odin's reputation.
Talos then added: "Not to mention, there's also the Supreme Magician. That guy loves a good fight. If he doesn't fight for a day, he feels uncomfortable."
"Just when we were following the Skrull Empire to the battlefield, we saw him beating up a Cosmic Sorcerer. I've never heard of a being made of energy screaming so miserably…"
"I get it! Humans must want to provoke a war between these two empires. Those who will be unfairly victimized are likely to be their future competitors. These humans are not only insane, but also despicable... Well, in a civilized sense, they are cunning, and this strategy is indeed effective."
Barack shook his head and said, "The Kree Empire is located in the Large Magellanic Cloud, and the New Skrull Empire...is either on the edge of the pines, or not far from the Milky Way."
"Before the two of them go to war, the civilizations around them will definitely be wiped out. In that case, maybe entire civilizations in the Milky Way will be dead or injured. This is too advantageous for humans."
"I'm more inclined to stop this war." Talos spoke again, "Although I don't have a stake in this anymore, if a war really breaks out, none of the three empires will be spared. Asgard might eventually be dragged into the conflict too, and I don't want to see that happen."
"But how can we stop it?" Barack's eyebrows were furrowed in worry. He said, "At the moment, we are under their roof. We can't afford to be discovered by humans, yet we also need to stop their plot to provoke a war between the three empires. This is incredibly difficult.""
It was then that Shiller cleared his throat and said, "I have an idea…"
