Chapter 1326 - Chapter 901: Not So Secret Invasion (Part 2)_2

Stark took a breath and said, "Don't tell me they can clone memories too?!!"

Nick, still with arms folded, said, "Keep reading."

As the first to rise, Captain America moved his body a bit and voiced his confusion, "Where am I? Wasn't I... Wasn't I protecting the new warriors..."

"Welcome back, Steve. You did indeed die in a battle, but you were resurrected by a secret S.H.I.E.L.D project. Welcome back, hero."

Captain America looked perplexed at the blood-stained shield inside the life pod. The moment he picked up the shield, he instinctively threw it.

The room wasn't large, so if someone threw something with all their might, it would surely hit the wall and leave a dent. However, the shield flew back just before hitting the wall as though it had eyes. It didn't cause any damage.

Peter, outside the screen, also looked surprised. He said, "My God! Not only does he have the same strength as the captain, even his control over the shield has reached its peak!"

Peter stretched out his hand, pointing at the screen. He said, "I've played with this shield before, but for some reason, I always fail to reel it back in once thrown. I often end up crashing it into a wall, or being knocked over by it when it does return. I just can't control it."

Steve's face turned serious. He said, "The shield can be controlled, but it requires stringent training. When Howard initially crafted this shield, he used a special technique. The structure embedded in the shield can only be triggered using a specific throwing technique."

"This should be a secret known to me alone. Even Howard never put it into practice himself. How could... this is impossible..."

Steve pressed his lips together and said, "My learning ability is already several times that of an average person, but it still took me a long time to master these skills. At first, I, like Peter, was unable to control the shield..."

"I'm certain that no one else in this world, apart from me, can control the shield so precisely. But if the man on screen is me, then who am I?"

As he finished speaking, Spider Man on the screen also stood up. He moved his body and asked a lot of questions just like Captain America. After Nick explained the situation, Spider Man began to re-explore his power.

With a slight leap, he stuck to the ceiling and began crawling like a real spider. Then he used the Spider Silk Launcher on his wrist to shoot out a strand of spider silk, and started swinging around.

Outside the screen, Peter's mouth remained wide open. He said, "What... Was he bitten by a spider too? How does he possess the mutated spider capabilities?"

"Moreover, he knows how to use the Spider Silk Launcher. It requires a special swing to launch the silk. How could he possibly know the sequence I designed? Even other Spider Mans don't know. Each of us has a different sequence..."

On the screen, Stark, the last one to stand up, bombarded Nick with questions. Then, he pressed a button on his arm, and soon after, a Mecha flew in through the window.

Seeing this, Stark outside the screen immediately changed his expression. He stood up, slamming the table and shouted, "How is that possible?! Jarvis! Jarvis! Are you there? How could you let someone else use my Mecha?!"

But suddenly, the screen on Stark's arm went off. He instantly looked at his arm, hammered the device hard, cursed, then said, "Damn it, that guy has locked all the devices!"

"He deceived Jarvis with my identity verification and shut down all the devices except his own!!" Stark immediately rushed towards the door.

Nick stopped him, but with rising agitation, Stark said, "He could use my identity verification to gain access to the Stark Building and steal all the data. You have no idea what dangerous things are in there. If they fall into the wrong hands, they could destroy the whole Earth!"

Nick held him back and said, "Don't rush. Haven't you noticed yet? All of this is part of mine and Shiller's plan. He would have expected that this Stark could steal your privileges..."

Stark took a deep couple of breaths, then stopped in his tracks. He said, "If I hadn't already ascended, there's no way I could accept your dangerous plan, for Pete's sake..."

"Don't worry, you are the only one in the world who can ascend to become the Iron Demon God. Those impostors are not capable of that." Nick patted his shoulder and said.

Stark exhaled, his mech suit was parked in the corner of the room, and the Magic Core was stored in the storage device, meaning he could ascend into the Iron Demon God at any moment to stop everything. This gave him a sense of security, allowing him to sit down again to watch everything on the screen.

Stark shook his head and said, "What the hell is going on here? Who are these impostors? How do they have our memories, and how were they able to steal my identity, even fooling JARVIS?"

Nick sat on the couch and slowly explained,

"Perhaps, you've heard of the Kree Empire, one of the Three Great Empires of the Universe, been aboard their ships, even piloting their ships around the cosmos..."

"And now, these people who are impersonating you are members of another powerful empire among the Three Great Empires, the Skrulls."

"They possess an ability to imitate that is beyond human imagination, able to copy the appearance, essence, genes, memories, and abilities of any human. Simply put, they can completely become you, without any flaws."

"Perhaps, this may sound astonishing, but this is the power of the Super Skrull, and as such, they are extremely difficult to contend with."

"A long time ago, when the Avengers had yet to be formed, when S.H.I.E.L.D Director Pierce had yet to retire, when I was just a capable agent under him, I discovered that a race unlike humans but becoming identical to us, had infiltrated our society."

When Nick got serious, everyone remembered his title as King of Special Agents. After all, he was already legendary when he was just a regular agent, able to detect this slight anomaly.

"I have been waiting for an opportunity to catch them all at once, and Shiller's arrival provided me with this opportunity. Even more than that, he proposed a better plan."

"Including plotting to kill me and all of you, using the power struggle with the mastermind of the Red Door Lan project to elevate the status of mutants, designing a series of plots to kill them, taking them to Heaven for blackmail... all these plans were just paving the way."

"We executed this plan not because of the petty rewards from the military and Congress."

"You thought that your deaths were the process, and the General and Congressman's deaths were the result, but in reality, it's exactly the opposite."

"Their deaths are insignificant, simply a part of the process, your deaths are the final result. Because without you dead, the Skrulls don't have a good enough reason to step up on stage, disguised as you."

"Only when all the superheroes have gone in a reasonable manner can they have the chance to replace you through mimicry."

"It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, reasonable, legitimate, efficient, they don't even need to lift a finger to eliminate you, they can seize the opportunity to replace you perfectly."

"And the ultimate goal of Shiller and me, is to let them replace you."
