Chapter 130 - Chapter 90: Terrible Story (Part 2) _1

Inside the Stark Building, a data cable was plugged into a device terminal, and Peter was fiddling around with a computer. Jarvis said, "Data transfer is complete, 3%, 2%, 1%..."

The screen on Peter's side lit up, and he said, "Received! Let me see… oh my goodness, what is all this???"

Numerous documents and data appeared before Peter's eyes. He incredulously said, "What's this? These look like military personnel files... Lawrence, 35 years old, lost both arms, experiment subject number 3022..."

"Someone's experimenting on these disabled veterans... Oh my god… wait, what's this?"

"Plan Desperation?"

Peter began to swiftly type on the keyboard, the light from the screen constantly flickering on his face. As he continued to scroll through the information, his complexion grew progressively worse, even turning somewhat pale.

"Mr. Parker, your heart rate is irregular, please stop what you're doing immediately and take deep breaths..."

Peter let go of the device, he staggered backward a few steps, then swallowed hard before saying dryly, "We might have stumbled upon a big secret…"

He looked around, then said, "Jarvis, make sure this device cannot connect to a network, protect the data here, I'll be back…"

His voice was shaky and filled with nervousness, but he still managed to calmly make arrangements before grabbing his backpack and leaving the building.

When Shiller saw Peter, he had never seen Spider Man looking so bad. While Peter usually looked a bit worn out after pulling an all-nighter, his lips were now almost bloodless and his body was trembling, looking disoriented.

Before Shiller could speak, Peter began reciting like he was reading off a script, "Listen, Doctor, let me finish first! I'm afraid I might not remember it later…"

"Just now, I got all the documents of a secret plan from Doctor Connors, but I couldn't bring them out or write any of them down because it was too horrifying. If the documents got leaked, the consequences would be unimaginable."

"So now, I can only describe the plan to you. It's called 'Plan Desperation', and it's a project prepared by a group of high-ranking military officers from the Tartu Faction led by General Robert."

Peter recited the data fluently thanks to his exceptional memory. He continued, "This project aims to stimulate the human body's super-speed recovery functionality and create super soldiers. Their objectives include: fast wound healing, limb regeneration, lifting muscle constraints, and making every soldier a super soldier who feels no pain or emotion."

"As of now, the plan is still in its early stages, but 16 soldiers have already undergone experiments. Each one of them is a disabled veteran who lost their limbs or suffered serious injuries on the battlefield."

"Three of them are friends of Doctor Connors."

"Because of Doctor Connors' achievements in biology and biomimetics, he has always been in contact with the military. But he hid from them the fact that he had received computer training. As a result, he managed to steal most of the data from this project during his collaboration with the military…"

"He was studying the lizard serum so relentlessly in an effort to save these soldiers. He knew he couldn't stop the military from continuing the project, so he wanted to use his research results to convert these soldiers back to regular people ahead of time, thus sparing them from the experiment."

"According to the project's progress report, Doctor Connors was a step too late. The group of disabled veterans had already received the initial injections. That's why Doctor Connors was so eager to complete the serum. However, due to his haste, he skipped the final safety test, which is what turned him into a lizard monster…"

Having rattled off so much information in one breath, Peter could barely stand. Shiller helped him over to a couch and poured him a glass of water. After gulping down a few mouthfuls, Peter began to relax somewhat. Shiller then gave him a heart rate monitor to wear.

Shiller noticed that Peter's heart rate was indeed irregular. To make a Spider Man mutate nervous enough for his heartbeats to become unsteady, Shiller was already imagining what Peter might have seen in those documents.

Apparently, Peter was greatly shocked. Those documents weren't just boring experimental data, most of the images in them were of human experimentation, essentially, extremely inhumane contents.

After drinking some water, Peter started retching uncontrollably. The images in the documents were far more terrifying than any of the bloody injuries he'd seen before. He had never seen anything so frightening in his life.

Seeing Peter dart to the bathroom to throw up, Shiller asked the Gray Mist in his mind, "Are you sure another symbiote attached itself to Stark? When did this happen ?"

"I don't know, but it had to be one of my own kind. I can recognize them."

Shiller thought for a moment, feeling the symbiote that attached itself to Stark around this period was probably Venom.

After a while, Peter came back, his hands were still shaking slightly. He said, "Doctor, we need to find a way to stop this experiment. If this continues, they'll destroy the world…"

"And besides, those soldiers are heroes who gave everything for the country, they can't…"

It seemed that Peter was reminded of those images again, his face turning even paler. Shiller said, "Don't think about it anymore. I'll give you a simple hypnosis later and then you should go upstairs to sleep."

"No, no way, I need to find a way. I need to find a way... I can't let them succeed…" Peter kept mumbling, he began to look somewhat delirious.

For a 16-year-old high school student to face such a harsh reality, and to suddenly receive such a shock, Peter was clearly breaking down.

"Jarvis, are you there?" Shiller asked Peter's phone.

"Yes, Sir."

"Ok, I know I might not have access to Stark's personal information, but I still have to ask. Did the military invite Stark to participate in negotiations?"

"Sir, actually you do. Mr. Stark has granted you level 2 access, which includes the ability to access all incoming information."

"Indeed, I have received 7 messages from different communication bands within 5 days, mostly invitations for Mr. Stark to attend meetings at a certain military base."

"So, what is Stark's attitude?"

"I can't know, nor can I reveal."

Shiller said, "Currently, the military has no bargaining chips, their invitations are merely probing. They know that even if they called Stark over, their chips are insufficient, they still won't get what they want."

"Since that's the case, let's give the military a bargaining chip..."

Peter, feeling a little dizzy, was not very interested in this kind of thing, but he still tried to think hard and said, "How does this relate to preventing that plan?"

"Isn't this plan put together by the military top brass?"

"Indeed, according to Doctor Connors' information, there is a faction called Tartu within the military high echelons. They seem to be a political alliance, led by a General named Robert. These people are different from the traditional old-school officers, they believe that future wars will be fought between super humans, so they always want the military to increase investment in the cultivation of Super Soldiers..."

"It's them who came up with that terrifying Doomsday project, using physically handicapped soldiers for experiments..."

While speaking, Peter started to feel sick again. If this plan was just some ordinary surgical operation, it would have been okay, but it was a chemical transformation plan. The disabled soldiers who received the injections turned into all kinds of things, giving Peter an unprecedented shock.

He couldn't understand how there could be such devils in this world, turning their fellow citizens into that state.

Moreover, they were all military personnel, they should have been comrades.

For the first time, Peter realized that even within the same group, the exploitation of the lower class by the upper class is never-ending. After they have squeezed all the value out of them, they are not willing to let go even of their remaining broken bodies. Such devils who only consider their own interests exist in this world.

"I'm thinking, the ones who want to obtain the Mecha Technology should also be these Tartu Faction Officers, right? After all, the remaining old generals should prefer to get more missiles and the like."

"I plan to guide Stark to meet these people. Of course, Stark definitely won't be willing to meet them. However, if the military strongly insists, if Stark gets too annoyed, he should go and deal with them..." Shiller said, stroking his chin.

"In theory, that should be the case." Peter said, "But what are the benefits of getting Mr. Stark together with them? Mr. Stark probably won't kill, right? Moreover, Mr. Stark is drunk right now, we can't tell him about this plan. Even if we did tell him, Mr. Stark wouldn't be able to kill so many people at the military base, right?"

"Indeed, Stark can't do it. Even if he knew about this plan, he wouldn't resort to violence and directly kill those behind the scenes. He's not that kind of person."

"But we don't need to care about the process, as long as the result is what we want."

"What are you planning to do?"

"You don't need to know for now. Come on, close your eyes, take deep breaths, and feel every sensory organ in your body from top to bottom..."

Soon, Peter gradually relaxed and fell asleep.

The next day when he woke up and went downstairs, he found Shiller fiddling with a syringe. Peter, a bit curious, wanted to lean in closer, but suddenly, his Spider-sense rang out. Peter quickly backed away two steps and asked, "What are you doing? That thing seems quite dangerous…"

"Indeed, it's dangerous, but I need you to deliver it later."

"Deliver it where?"

"Doctor Connors is in the Stark Tower Laboratory. Jarvis told me that the military will be coming today to receive the remaining results of the medical cooperation project, this will become one of them."

"Of course, before this, you need to make up a convincing experimental report for it."

"Uhm... make it up? Where's the original experimental report for this thing?"

"It went to the madhouse with the inventor."

Peter pursed his lips and said, "So, in other words, this is actually an uncertified product?"

"But it works very well, that's all that matters."

"So, what kind of experimental report should I write?"

"You have to describe it as a drug that can stimulate a person's nerves and activate brain activity."

"If it's not used for this, then what is it actually used for?"

"Well, it's also used for this, it's just that the side effects are a bit big. But it doesn't matter, no one is going to actually use it. It's just needed to give a small stimulus to an alien creature..."

Peter was a bit puzzled. Why is there the matter of an alien creature involved? He took Shiller's words as a metaphor he didn't understand and skipped it.

However, in reality, Shiller was telling the truth, because what was in that syringe, was highly concentrated Fear Venom.
