Peter, carrying a big package and with a bright halo on his head, followed Shiller back into the central garden, changed routes, and headed in another direction.
During their journey, Peter reached out and touched the halo on his head, saying, "This thing actually has a physical form? What's it made of? Why does it glow? ...Wait, what's with these fiery patterns, could it be made from molten steel..."
No sooner had he spoken, he felt Shiller's Death Stare. Clearing his throat, Peter said: "Okay, I get it, it's magic...no, it's Holy Light, thank Jesus, hmm..."
Stretching out two fingers, Peter zipped his mouth shut. Only then did Shiller turn away. However, Peter opened his mouth again after a while, asking, "Doctor, where are we going? I see a Northern European-style building nearby. Can I go take a look?"
"We'll get to that later. We have important matters to attend to, wherein I need your help." Led by Shiller, Peter turned another corner, passed through the back of Valhalla, and saw a waterfall in the distance. A trail led up from the waterfall to another sanctuary halfway up the mountain.
As they climbed up the stairs, Peter first caught sight of a statue of Jesus. As he passed by, he glanced at the statue and said, "Why do I feel that Jesus' clothing is a bit off? He was born in..."
"Peter, how big was the explosion that killed you?" Shiller asked.
"Oh, it was probably not that big." Peter recalled, "The criminal hadn't fully unleashed his power when I knocked him out. The impact radius was perhaps a few hundred meters."
"Thankfully, the impact only hit a few residential buildings behind him, as the area he was facing was wasteland."
Just as he was saying this, Peter's tone grew worried: "Even though the shockwave wouldn't be as powerful once it spread out, the buildings might still not withstand the impact. If a building collapsed, it'd definitely cause injuries, and the ensuing disaster relief would be troublesome too..."
At this point, he quickened his pace to catch up with Shiller, saying, "Doctor, you mentioned that I could be resurrected. When could I be back? I want to return as soon as possible. I'm afraid that the other Spider Men will cause problems without knowing the local circumstances..."
"You want to be resurrected as soon as possible?" Shiller deliberately repeated.
Peter nodded vigorously. However, he heard Shiller retort: "If you want to be resurrected as soon as possible, stop asking questions left and right! Turn your head back here and stop staring at that Angel statue!"
"But…but…the pattern on the bottle the angel is holding doesn't fit with the time it was from... Alright, I get it." Peter covered his mouth with one hand.
The interior of the hall had a similar style to a medieval church pulpit, with its ivory and brown tiles depicting various intricate designs. Along the wall were statues of little angels in different poses, and of course, Jesus and colored glass. The entire architectural design seemed to be shouting into people's ears: "This is heaven! This is heaven! This is heaven!"
Struggling to ignore the various architectural intricacies, Peter trudged forwards with his package. However, Shiller had come to a stop in front of a wall beside the pulpit.
Peter examined this wall but found nothing unusual. Nonetheless, Shiller extended his hand, pressed on a brick on the wall, and then the wall slowly began opening to both sides...
Inside was an elevator.
Peter's eyes widened. Just as he was about to say something, Shiller had already stepped into the elevator. Consequently, Peter could only follow him in.
After boarding the elevator and pressing a button, they reached the third floor. Exiting the elevator, Peter found himself in an extremely modern office, a stark contrast to the architecture moments ago. It almost seemed like he had traveled through time.
"Why does the hallway style here resemble S.H.I.E.L.D's? And this surveillance equipment, does heaven also need surveillance? Could angels also steal things?" Peter asked incredulously, his brows furrowing.
As they moved further down the hallway, Nick Fury appeared. He greeted, "Peter, long time no see, how's being the S.H.I.E.L.D. Director?"
"Oh, Director Nick, I'm so glad you're okay! Wait, this is heaven...you're okay...you should be okay, right?" Peter started rambling. But soon, he noticed an even bigger problem. He asked, "Director, how did you know I became S.H.I.E.L.D Director? That time, you had already..."
Nick coughed a few times, gave a look to Shiller, who shrugged in return. Pushing open the door to his office, Nick led Peter in and said, "Peter, this is part of our plan. By plan, I mean everything is within the plan. "
Peter, seated on the couch of the office's reception area by Nick, who left to pour some water, turned around to follow him and asked, "What does 'everything is within the plan' mean? Are you saying that the assassination wasn't an accident?"
"Of course it wasn't." Nick shook his head and said, "Guess who did it?"
