Chapter 1285 - Chapter 873 Brilliant Stars (18)_2

Eddie's voice suddenly dropped, "Whether or not he initiated it doesn't matter, the key is the military made a move."

With a hoarse voice, he continued, "We mustn't get trapped in the debate of who made the first move. The focus should be on their core reasons for taking these actions."

Eddie stood up, walked beside the whiteboard and wrote as he spoke, "They wanted to target the mutants, so they devised the so-called 'Red Door Lan Plan.' Furthermore, they killed Nick who tried to obstruct the plan. So, why did they have to create that red monster after doing all that?"

"They hoped to use the monster to eliminate the mutants," Matt spoke up, but Eddie shook his head and responded, "No, they should be well aware that a creature that can't fly and possesses no lethal group abilities, can't annihilate all mutants."

"If we follow their logic, after eliminating Nick who obstructed the Red Door Lan Plan, the next step should be to continue the plan. However, they didn't."

"Look at what they've done: creating a giant monster through unknown means, using certain agents to muddy the waters inside S.H.I.E.L.D., and this came out of nowhere, introducing Count Dracula, a vampire. Do these things have anything to do with the Red Door Lan Plan?"

Peter narrowed his eyes, "That's correct, since Nick is already dead, they have no need for these extra steps. Why not just continue with the plan?"

"Unless…." Matt smirked, "They can no longer carry out the plan. The previous failure was their maximum tolerance."

He looked at Natasha, "Do you have any intelligence on the full deployment of Red Door Lan Plan?"

Natasha shook her head, "This plan was archived in S.H.I.E.L.D. five years ago. At that time, we only knew that the military was undertaking a top-secret plan, but we didn't know against whom, nor did we pay close attention to the plan."

"A failed plan definitely comes with a cost." Peter interjected, "The cost of rockets isn't low, especially five years ago. After experiencing three consecutive rocket launch failures, the price to pay would most likely be unimaginable. The measures they're taking now are just to mitigate. So, the question is why do they believe that continuing to target S.H.I.E.L.D. and mutants is a way to remedy their plan?"

"Because they can gain more benefits from these actions." Blade Warrior Eric chimed in, "Although I'm not well informed about the mutants' situation, over the years, plenty of individuals have been raising funds by claiming to fight vampires."

After pondering for a moment, Peter said, "I think behind this plan, there are likely several anti-mutant organizations supporting it. The military is just going with the flow, and when the plan failed, the pressure fell on them."

"So, they must come up with other ways to alleviate it, making those powers believe they can go further on the road to eliminating mutants, in order to continue receiving investments from them."

"And this is their weakness that we can exploit."

Looking at the words on the whiteboard, Peter suddenly connected certain clues, he had an epiphany, "Provided that these forces see hope in eradicating mutants, they will continue with their investments …"

"Anti-mutants is essentially a chain of scams." Eddie said while staring at the whiteboard, "One person raises the banner, stirs up public emotions, gets their attention and makes them spend money. The banner-raiser takes the money to another person, tells them to oppose mutants, promises them the money upon success, so that they become anti-mutant... "

"They raise the banner, then stir up another group of people, get their money and invest it in different anti-mutant plans. Like this, chain by chain, they find their way to the military."

"Does the military oppose mutants because they dislike them? No. They do it for the money, for the benefits that the chain of investors can provide …"

"The weakness of this scam is that they must show some results to spread a bigger scam. The issue they face now is that nobody has shown any results."

Matt snapped his fingers, "Just like if you want to sell houses, you have to make a show house. If you want to sell food, you publish a menu first. The anti-mutants have been opposing for so many years and mutants are still living carelessly in this world. There isn't even a show house; what can they use to swindle money?"

With a turn of his eyes, Peter said, "The so-called Red Door Lan Plan is essentially about creating a show house. But why did they come up with such a plan? Isn't creating a show house simple?"

Peter grabbed a sheet of paper and randomly wrote down a string of symbols, "This is a concoction I made that can eradicate all X-genes. Just one injection and a mutant is no longer a mutant. Isn't this a perfect model?"

The room went silent for a good two minutes before Natasha stood up first and shook Peter's hand, "Congratulations to the global leader of anti-mutants, Peter Parker, you are the light of humanity."

Eddie held the piece of paper and said, "This is our most advantageous weapon."

"Now, an unnamed but renowned lab has developed a drug that can completely eradicate X-genes. In just two seconds, a mutant will vanish from this world."

"If this news gets out, what would the emotionally charged public think?"

Matt continued his thought, "They would definitely believe the government should rush to produce it, one for each, and then force all the mutants in the world to inject this drug. It's best to have each person inject ten ampules to ensure they can never revert back to being mutants."

"When fanatic emotions are incited, those who used to stir up the public's emotions will also be hijacked by those emotions. At that time, anyone who dares to question the authenticity of the drug or suggests it needs further testing before use would be attacked by these fanatics."

"Their only option is to go with the flow and continue amplifying such emotions in an attempt to reap even more wealth from those individuals …"

"But can Congress and the military do this? Let alone whether they can force all mutants to be vaccinated, can they even manufacture the drug? Or would they think it's worth it?"

"Of course not." Natasha interjected, "For both parties, it's a lose-lose situation. Congress is meant to stabilize, while the military is meant to profit. Doing this does not align with their core interests."

"When both of them are on the same chariot, whom do you think they'd aim their blades at? The mutants who have Professor X and Magneto, or these frauds who have nothing but chains of scams?" Eddie asked.

Peter looked at the paper, "The problem now is that S.H.I.E.L.D. is unable to help, the military is pressuring us and other forces, including Hydra, are also looking to fish in troubled waters. If our hands are tied, we won't be able to execute this plan. We need some help …"

He paused for a moment, then stated, "I have an idea."
