"Listen, Spider Man, don't respond, it's me, Natasha, just listen. Right now, I'm in an abandoned warehouse, temporarily immobilized, they have too much firepower, the diversionary tactic didn't work..."
"No, don't come for me, my self-healing speed isn't as fast as Captain America's, but it's still much stronger than an average person, you need to find Coulson, he has a top-secret file, it's a list of Hydra agents embedded within S.H.I.E.L.D., go to the Avengers Base, there you'll be able to track his signal, hurry, get the list..."
Spider Man hung up the phone, and swung towards the distance. When he arrived at the Avengers Base, he found Matt was already waiting there. He quickly went up and asked, "Did you also receive Natasha's distress signal?"
"No, Hill contacted me through Avengers' internal information, she's being chased, apparently, she has a list of KGB operatives embedded in S.H.I.E.L.D. Nick Fury is dead, they've lost their protection, everyone's taking advantage of the chaos."
Spider Man banged his fist on the table, gritting his teeth, "Those damn spies... Fine, I'll track their signals, notify the other Avengers, help them as much as possible, we must ensure the safety of that list..."
At this point, the vampire hunter Eric walked in, "Bad news, Count Dracula has arrived in New York. I don't know what his goal is, but it's very likely he's looking for revenge while S.H.I.E.L.D. is leaderless."
Matt furrowed his brows, "But I heard that Dracula is a pacifist, he has no desire to get involved in these disputes. When the bats invaded New York, he didn't even show up. Why does he want revenge now?"
"All vampires are crazy, don't you know that? Besides, it's been so long since the Eternity Factor Potions industry developed. Almost all vampires in New York State are nearly extinct. It's normal for Dracula to come back and look around, after all, he is a vampire."
"When it rains, it pours." Matt stood up and walked over to the screen to begin explaining the tactics. He said, "Eric, handle the vampire-related issues, you've dealt with them the longest. Spider Man, go help Coulson. Erica and I will assist Hill. Now, the combat plan is, we know the agents are chasing them, so we should..."
Once Matt had finished explaining the plan, the three of them each set off. Spider Man traced Coulson's signal and found him cornered, armed with only a handgun.
Spider Man rushed towards Coulson as fast as he could, but in addition to the distance, he also had to jump down to get close to him. In those brief two seconds, a bullet hit Coulson in the back.
Seeing the blood gushing out, Spider Man's anger reached its peak. He landed squarely, ignoring the pain from the fall, and kicked the shooting agent flying.
He then knocked down the remaining agents and rushed to Coulson's side. Coulson was holding a briefcase and moaning in pain.
Seeing Spider Man arrive, Coulson struggled to lift his arm, handed him the briefcase. Spider Man didn't take it, but instead squatted down to bandage Coulson. The bullet seemed to have hit Coulson's lung, which caused his body to convulse.
After making the basic treatment, Spider Man picked up the briefcase and called an ambulance for Coulson. Seeing Coulson nearly unconscious when he was carried on the stretcher, Spider Man had a bad feeling.
Outside the ER, Strange, now in his surgical gown, quickly walked in. Spider Man anxiously waited outside. Shortly after, Natasha walked over. Her arm was bandaged, but her injury didn't seem serious. Spider Man looked at her and asked, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, I was just a decoy to distract their attention. Besides, ordinary agents pose no threat to me, I was injured because I intentionally jumped from the fourth floor to attract them."
"What on earth is going on?" Spider Man's tone suggested anger, he said, "How did they dare…"
"Why wouldn't they dare? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity." Natasha sat down next to the ER on the waiting chair, she said, "Nick Fury, a legendary agent, not only does he have a nice title, but do you think S.H.I.E.L.D. has been running smoothly for so many years because of whom?"
"Do you think an extraordinary secret organization like S.H.I.E.L.D., known to every country and various forces, won't be targeted? Do you think they'd be stingy about sending all sorts of elite agents here?"
"Especially after S.H.I.E.L.D. started the solar system development plan and began to openly publicize it, they've been put front and center, and Nick Fury's name has echoed across the Earth."
"How many hands wanted to arrive here, but Nick's defense was invincible. For many years, they haven't gained any advantage from him, but this time, with his death, the era of revelry has come."
"All the information they couldn't get before, and the information they want now, is within their grasp. Even if they lose some exceptionally covert dark spots, it's still a profit."
"Hill and I fell into this trap. The people we thought we could trust turned out to be covert spots hidden for many years. After sleepers from various forces went crazy, they caught us off guard."
Natasha turned her head away, her face obscured by her hair. Spider Man couldn't see her expression. He thought that the battle-hardened Black Widow couldn't possibly be sad, but then the light in the ER suddenly went out.
Strange came out, he stroked his wrist, stood in front of the door, looked at Spider Man and said, "Phil Coulson, has been called by the Lord."
Spider Man said incredulously, "What?!! Wait, even if the surgery couldn't... don't you still have magic?"
"I proposed using the Time Gem, but he refused." Strange looked at the briefcase beside Spider Man," He said he may not be a good agent, but at least he's a human."
Spider Man's chest began to rise and fall uncontrollably, his sadness noticeable even through his mask. But he didn't stay sad for long. Suddenly, a loud noise came from outside the window and all three of them looked towards it.
Spider-Man took the lead and rushed over, he saw a gigantic red monster appearing against the skyline of New York.
"What is that? Why does it look so much like the Hulk? No, it's not the Hulk, it's red..." Spider-Man exclaimed in surprise.
Natasha also walked over, squinting her eyes and said, "Look over there, those camouflage-painted vehicles, they must be military's, the military must have conducted some experiment and created a monster..."
By this time, Spider-Man had already leapt out of the window, he said, "I have to stop him, we can't let him wreak havoc inside New York City."
Meanwhile, near the street where the Red Giant was, Doctor Dora glanced out of the window at the situation, she observed carefully for a moment, then she stepped back and turned to tell the terrified researchers behind her, "Hurry! Evacuate everyone! Especially the mutants, he's targetting the mutants..."
"Lola, Andy, and Prout, tell them to leave now, I fear this guy was created by the military to combat the mutants!" Doctor Dora instructed as she retreated.
With a "bang", the floor-to-ceiling window glass behind her shattered, a chunk of rock came smashing in, everyone screamed and ran away. Doctor Dora quickly backed away, advising everyone not to take the elevator, but to use the stairs instead, as it would take some time for him to destroy the building..."
"Right, where are the interns? Why haven't they come out yet?" Doctor Dora asked turning around when another colleague shouted, "Before I came here, Andy was teaching the three interns how to use the equipment, they might still be in the lab..."
"There's no time left! You guys go first, I'll go get them!"
Doctor Dora ran off in another direction and quickly arrived at the lab's entrance, she swiped her staff card to enter.
When she ran in, researcher Andy was still giving the lecture. Seeing Doctor Dora rush in anxiously, she was confused and asked, "What happened, Doctor Dora? Is there a problem?"
"Hurry up! Take the interns and leave! The military has unleashed a red monster, it's likely targetting the mutants..."
Andy immediately showed a panic-stricken expression. It was noticeable that she had scales behind her ears and some adhesive tissues growing on her fingers. Other than these, she was no different from a normal person.
Standing amongst the interns, Gwen immediately said, "How can they do this!! Creating monsters in order to combat the mutants, are they insane?!"
"Let's go, girls, they've always been insane. Follow me, we need to go this way and avoid being detected!"
While in the corridor, Doctor Dora glanced out of the window and realized that the monster was nearing. She disregarded the now crying Andy and dragged her towards the underground shelter.
Upon reaching the shelter, she turned around and told everyone in the shelter, "Wait here, I need to go upstairs and make sure everyone has evacuated..."
At this moment, Gwen stood up and said, "I'll go with you, Doctor Dora."
Doctor Dora did not say anything, and Gwen went upstairs with her. Just then, she saw another figure streaking across the skyline, her oh-so-familiar Spider-Man.
Gwen took a deep breath, trying to calm her somewhat panicked mood, following Doctor Dora through the corridor, but then they both felt it. The building shook suddenly. Gwen, who was standing near the window, quickly said, "The building's waistline structure has been damaged, we need to get out of here quickly..."
Both of them paused for a moment, preparing to descend from another staircase, just then, another green monster appeared.
Red and green monsters collided, causing a earth-shaking shake in an instant.
Gwen braced herself against a door frame, but Doctor Dora fell down. She rushed over to help Doctor Dora up, and just at that moment, the building collapsed.
The sudden loss of gravity made Gwen instinctively grab the door frame. The building debris passed over their heads, and at that moment, a red and blue figure swung over.
In the last moment, Spider-Man grabbed Gwen's waist and swung up. Gwen turned her head and shouted, "Doctor Dora!! No!!!"
After setting Gwen down, Spider-Man swung back again. At the moment the building was completely sliced in two and collapsed, Spider-Man did not have enough time to grab Doctor Dora entirely and could only shoot out a strand of spider silk, which wrapped around Doctor Dora's waist.
But just then, from the fighting monsters, a piece of building debris, sharp as a blade, just like a bullet from a sniper rifle, pierced straight into Doctor Dora's chest.
In the moment the spider silk was retracted, blood bloomed in the air, soaking Spider-Man's battlesuit, casting a layer of blood red in front of his eyes.
