Chapter 1222 - Chapter 825: Method of Breaking the Game_1

Generally speaking, students who participate in the second round of internships are those who want to work in Gotham. Otherwise, they would have already found work in another city by now.

To work in Gotham, dealing with mob members is inevitable. Academic prowess is important, but first, you have to learn how to handle the peculiar patients here in order to survive.

Therefore, choosing Arkham Asylum as the site for the second round of internships is not a problem. Even though there aren't many mental patients here, students can still learn a lot about survival in Gotham.

Shiller had already informed all the patients here that a group of students would be interning shortly. If the students ask questions with case files in hand, they simply have to answer honestly.

As humans, we all have a few mental quirks to some degree or another. No one is totally sane, so even non-typical cases can provide some learning experience.

Shiller didn't expect to see Bruce here because clearly, Bruce couldn't possibly establish a gang in such a short time.

Since he hasn't really established a gang, his presence here must be due to some kind of deception or ambush tactics.

It seems that he's more cunning than Shiller thought. Nevertheless, Shiller doesn't need to worry about Bruce not having enough credits to graduate, not anymore.

After all, he did participate in the second round of internships, albeit as a patient.

Soon, Bruce was surrounded. His former classmates, in not so fluent and raw manners, asked him all sorts of questions to check his current mental state.

Bruce could only perform his duty as a newly minted young mob boss, answering their very pointed questions.

Shiller just watched from the sidelines. After a while, he glanced at his watch and said, "I'm going to check out the other groups. It's almost lunchtime. After you finish, you can all go eat. Don't wait for me. I'll be back in my office handling some things."

Having said that, he left. Bruce's gaze was fixed on Shiller. Clearly, he wanted to say something to Shiller, but before he could find an excuse to leave, his classmates surrounded him again.

Bruce wanted to talk to Shiller urgently, but the students in Group Three were all excellent graduate candidates. They were passionate about learning and wanted to compete for the title of outstanding graduate. Having finally found a patient to examine, of course they wanted to extract as much information as they could for an advantage.

While dealing with them, Bruce kept looking at the door. It was finally lunchtime and all the other students left, leaving only Evans behind.

Although Bruce was eager to leave, Evans stopped him and asked, "Which boss are you? How come I've never seen you before?"

Bruce touched the mask on his face and said, "Godfather, my territory is near Wayne Building. I just recently came into power. It's normal that you haven't seen me..."

Evans narrowed his eyes, "Wayne Building? That's supposed to be the territory of the Twelve Families. Who did you take out from among them? Didn't their family give you any trouble?"

With a sigh, Bruce said, "Godfather, aren't you hungry? The cafeteria is downstairs. Shall I escort you there?"

Evans was even more puzzled. Although he's not the Godfather, Alberto is, they've already shared their memories. Everyone was complimenting this new Godfather when he officially took over the Falcone Family after the old Godfather announced his retirement.

This strange stranger in front of him seemed to be more interested in Professor Shiller, though. To think there was such a gang leader in Gotham who Evans didn't know whether to call him ignorant or foolish.

But Bruce had no time to be entangled with Evans. He had too many questions to ask Shiller, so he quickly headed towards Shiller's office.

Evans found it strange, so he followed behind. Bruce wanted to shake him off, but he was worried that Shiller might leave first, so he didn't care too much. The two of them burst into Shiller's office one after the other.

In the office, Shiller was looking at the preliminary reports the students had submitted. Seeing the two of them come in, Shiller pushed his glasses and said, "You're here? Have a seat."

"Evans…" Shiller motioned to Evans first, "Bring your brother in, we have something to discuss."

Evans was taken aback, but then he saw Bruce remove his mask.

At this point, the injuries on Bruce's face had healed quite a bit. Apart from being a little thinner, he still looked the same. Evans widened his eyes in surprise and said, "Bruce?! What are you doing here? How are you still... I mean, why are you…"

"All right, don't be too surprised," Shiller soothed him, "Our Mr. Wayne is very interested in the second round of internships, so he volunteered to be a patient. This afternoon you'll have to treat him. Now give your brother a shout, we have serious business to discuss…"

Seeing Shiller's serious expression, Evans didn't say anything and just nodded. After a pause, his facial expression changed and he said to Shiller, "Teacher, you wanted to see me?"
