Chapter 60 - Falna!
"Two newcomers, a young man and a little girl; they sure know how to bring trouble to me. This isn't a kindergarten, you know."
Inside a room that resembled a meeting room, Luke and another blonde loli were sitting on chairs at the center of the room.
Across from them was a woman with short red ponytail hair, and the complaints from a moment ago came from her.
"Oh, 'heroes' and 'spirits,' I really don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing."
After Loki grumbled a bit, she finally shifted her attention to the two individuals currently undergoing an 'interview.'
She first glanced at the blonde loli and then focused her attention on Luke.
"Let's start with you."
"Before officially joining 'Loki Familia,' I have a question for you."
Similar to the apprenticeship test Luke faced back in Asterisk City, Loki, at present, didn't intend to simply agree to Luke joining the 'Loki Familia.'
Much like the previous apprenticeship test, this question wouldn't determine whether Luke could join the 'Loki Familia' but would decide his future position within the Familia and the level of trust he would receive.
"Why did you choose our 'Loki Familia?'"
Listening to Loki's question, Luke carefully considered how to respond.
Loki's asking of this question was evidently related to the identity implanted in the main god's space this time.
Luke Ashburn
He is an extremely rare 'hero' in the era of adventurers.
Before entering 'Orario,' he had exterminated many monsters that remained on the surface.
Seemingly possessing not just one but multiple 'heroic legacies,' his mysterious origin and powerful strength have gained admiration from many young individuals outside of 'Orario.'
Due to this special identity, he carries titles such as the 'Living Legend,' 'Remnant of the Old Era,' and 'Beginning of the New Era,' which are widely known beyond 'Orario.'
Now, he has arrived in the Labyrinth City 'Orario' and, among numerous Familias, chose the 'Loki Familia.'
This is the identity implanted in Luke for this mission by the main god space.
As Luke looked at the identity introduction on the panel, he contemplated how to answer Loki's question because it directly affected the smooth progression of his main storyline tasks.
Perhaps sensing Luke's caution, Loki squinted her eyes and warned him, "Hero kid, let me remind you. If you plan on lying in front of the 'gods,' I suggest you think twice."
Loki's warning made Luke pause for a moment, then he recalled that indeed such a thing existed.
In this world, all gods have the ability to see through people's hearts.
The strength of this ability among gods is not uniform; some are stronger than others.
Powerful gods can even see the color of a person's soul.
Even the weakest gods can easily discern whether someone is lying.
In other words, Loki wants to know Luke's true feelings deep down.
Why did he choose the Loki Familia?
Luke recalled his true thoughts when choosing the faction to join.
"Perhaps it's because 'Loki Familia' is strong enough."
Luke smiled, didn't dwell on it further, and, following his original thoughts, gave his answer.
As Luke provided his answer, the blonde loli sitting next to him, who had been expressionless all along, seemed to glance at him.
Loki, on the other hand, was amused by Luke's 'frank' response.
"Hahaha, kid, I told you not to lie, but you didn't mean to modify your words at all?"
For many years, Loki had never seen someone directly tell her, 'I want to join because your Familia is strong.'
However, she knew that the majority of those joining her Familia, regardless of their expressed desires, fundamentally did so because of the strength of 'Loki Familia.'
Loki laughed heartily, while Luke and the blonde loli sitting in the chair looked at Loki's 'eccentricity' with confusion.
After enjoying her laughter, Loki walked behind Luke and said, "Take off your clothes."
"Eh???"
Luke was startled by Loki's words, but in an instant, he understood what Loki wanted to do.
However, being a god after all, Loki noticed Luke's instantaneous reaction.
She slapped Luke on the back, saying impatiently, "Enough, hurry up. Just because there's a loli sitting next to you, are you feeling shy?"
Loki didn't use much force, so there was no sense of pain. Still, being unexpectedly slapped left Luke feeling a bit frustrated.
After silently sighing in his heart, he took off his upper garment, revealing his well-trained upper body.
This is a necessary step for God to grant "Falna" to their Familia members. The god, using their blood, engraves their unique divine mark on the back of the Familia member.
With the imprint of the divine mark, the Familia member's 'ability values' will appear on their back.
At this point, that person officially becomes a Level 1 adventurer.
Adventurer is the unified term in the current 'Orario' for individuals engaged in exploring the dungeon.
Level 1 adventurers are generally considered 'rookies' who have just become adventurers or 'useless' individuals who have been unable to rank up for a long time.
Therefore, Level 1 adventurers are also called 'low-class adventurers,' while adventurers Level 2 and above are referred to as 'high-class adventurers.'
Crossing from Level 1 to Level 2 is known as the 'gap' and is not something everyone can easily overcome. It requires sufficient talent and potential to have a chance at successful advancement.
In 'Orario,' at least half of all adventurers are at Level 1.
Once an adventurer reaches Level 2, their combat capability significantly improves. Additionally, on top of their ability values, they may develop new skills and even learn magic.
Among high-class adventurers, there are more detailed divisions based on level and strength.
Level 2 belongs to the third-class adventurers, Level 3 and Level 4 belong to the second-class adventurers, and those Level 5 and above are referred to as first-class adventurers.
Currently, in 'Orario,' Level 5 adventurers are extremely rare, with only a handful of individuals reaching this level. These few individuals are mostly concentrated in the 'Loki Familia' and the 'Freya Familia.'
This is why these two Familias are considered the strongest in present-day 'Orario.'
