In the far north, there sits a once prosperous kingdom: The Kingdom of Freia. Established 780 years ago, it started off very weak and vulnerable, but over time it had many great kings who brought it glory and new land, and today it is the largest country by land in the world. Throughout history, it was feared and admired for its bountiful riches and a wide array of different cultures. Today however it is a shell of its former glory. There are various reasons for the Kingdom's decline: a decreasing population, a move from an absolute monarchy to a constitutional one, a faltering economy, but most important of all, The rise of technology. Suddenly the world went from mostly using a spiritual energy that comes within every living being called Spinther, to using machines powered by steam and made of iron. The Kingdom could not keep up with this rapid technological advancement and has been made weaker because of it. The top brass of the Kingdoms' government and the king himself have made efforts to advance by stealing the blueprints for new technologies from rival nations. Almost all of these expeditions have failed. Faced with no other options the King and The parliament have asked The Adventurers Guild for help getting new technologies. The Princess, Alice, has been sent to the Guild headquarters to entice would-be adventurers to do the King's bidding. She manages to gain many allies, but their skills are lacking, and their Spinther levels are weak. Frustrated, Princess Alice walks down an alley to clear her mind, and there she meets the man who will change her life, and possibly the world. His name is HANS FAULKER, THE WEAKEST BASILISK
