It seemed that everyone was waiting for a vacation, and the evening of Murphy's announcement, most of the group chose to leave the northern basin of the San Fernando Valley, and by the time the next morning rolled around, the only four people remaining inside the detached house were Murphy, Carey Mulligan, James Franco, and a governess.
Murphy had to fine-tune the shooting schedule based on the problems encountered on previous shoots; Carey Mulligan's guardian in Los Angeles, Julian Fellowes, had gone out of town for work, and she had nowhere else to go and no intention of going back; the governess was going to use the weekend to catch up with her; Carey Mulligan hadn't left, and there was no reason for James Franco to leave, either.
Saturday morning, Murphy got up and washed up and casually ate something, probably because she had been too busy lately and encountered a bit too many difficult problems, the headache that she hadn't had for a long time flared up again, although it wasn't as painful as the pain that tore through her when she had just come over here, it was still quite hard to bear, and she wanted to sit in her room and read the planner for a while, and insisted on it for less than two hours, and then she was no longer able to work in peace, so she simply walked downstairs, and went out to walk around for a while.
Pulling open the door of the independent house, Murphy took a hard breath of fresh air, the breeze blowing from the lake with a strange fragrance, slightly better spirits.
After looking out over the small lake in the distance, and then at the clear blue sky, he was just about to turn around and go into the woods behind the house for a spin, when the door to the room was pushed open from the inside again, and a middle-aged woman in a professional suit was the first to step out, with Carey Mulligan following closely behind, also exiting the room.
"Hello, Ms. Morrison." Murphy took the initiative to greet the middle-aged woman, looked at the purse she was holding, and asked, "Are you getting ready to leave?"
Before the governess, who worked as a teacher for Carey Mulligan's crew, could say anything, Carey Mulligan, who was behind her, took the lead and said, "Yes, Murphy. Mrs. Morrison has a temporary commitment to go back to downtown Los Angeles."
"So ...," Murphy nodded and asked the middle-aged woman, "Do you need a ride in my car?"
"No need." The middle-aged woman politely declined, "Someone will come to town to pick me up."
Watching the slightly curmudgeonly governess walk away, Murphy rubbed his forehead and prepared to continue on to the woods, Carey Mulligan followed and asked curiously, "What are you doing?"
"Taking a break." Murphy rounded the house and waited for Carey Mulligan to follow, saying, "Just going around the neighborhood."
He suddenly remembered that he hadn't checked out the town where this little basin was located, "I'm going to town in a little while too, are you?"
Carey Mulligan shook her head, "Mrs. Morrison left me homework and I have a play to rehearse."
She pointed to the woods behind the house, "I can walk you here."
Along the path in the woods, the two of them walked slowly one behind the other, the vast majority of the time, Carey Mulligan looked innocent, pretty and cute, especially when she was in front of Murphy, always putting her rebellious side away.
Murphy and Carey Mulligan circled around the woods and came back near the back door of the house, where Carey Mulligan opened the lesser-used back door, stood there, and asked, "Want to come in?"
"You go back in first." Murphy shook his head and pointed in the direction Mrs. Morrison had left, "I'm going to check on town, I'll be back around noon, need me to bring you lunch?"
Carey Mulligan thought for a moment, "How about an all-vegetarian pizza."
After saying that, she smiled sweetly at Murphy and turned to walk into the house, closing the door behind her.
Murphy rubbed his head gently, thinking about work as he walked along the path, towards the main road.
The shooting had not been going well, the lack of experience of him, a newbie director, was one aspect, and the mediocre ability of the rest of the cast and crew was another, but he had not sacked those people, even in Hollywood, it was not an easy thing to find people with a cheap enough price and outstanding ability.
The good thing is that Carey Mulligan and James Franco are getting better and better, proving that he was right to stick with them at the time.
James Franco? Murphy suddenly stopped in his tracks, realizing that he had overlooked something very important.
There had been four people in the house, himself, his governess, Carey Mulligan and James Franco.
Now that he was getting ready to go to town in the valley, and the governess had already left for town, the only two people left in the house were Carey Mulligan and James Franco!
Without even thinking, Murphy turned on his heel and walked quickly in the direction from which he had come.
Indeed, he sometimes did whatever he could for the sake of his purpose, such as using pitfalls to get Carey Mulligan and James Franco as the male and female protagonists, but it didn't mean that he wanted to see an innocent and lovely girl being poisoned by a loli controller.
After this period of time, Murphy was clear that James Franco had a strange personality, a person with a bottom line, yet it was hard to say whether he would do something excessive, men are extremely dangerous animals some times.
When he came ten minutes away, Murphy only used three minutes to rush back, striding to the back door of the house, quickly walked in, and even did not have time to close the door of the room.
Soft-soled sneakers stepped on the floor above, due to the relationship of the speed is very fast, basically did not make a sound, Murphy listened carefully, vaguely captured the front came Kerry Mulligan crisp voice, which is calm and soothing, but also interspersed with the sound of Gerge's laughter.
Exhaling softly, Murphy settled down and slowed his pace, walking through the back door straight into the living room hallway, ready to turn into the living room when he saw James Franco and Carey Mulligan sitting on top of two opposing single sofas, their respective scripts in their hands, seemingly intensely rehearsing their scenes.
"Is this where all those pictures were taken?" Carey Mulligan looked across the room adoringly, "They're fantastic, how did you do it."
James Franco kept his gaze on Carey Mulligan and seemed to have completely transformed into Jeff, "Want to know, you can come with me."
With that said, as if by magic, he pulled a box of chocolates out from behind him and handed it to Carey Mulligan, "Look what it is."
"Ohhh ...," Carey Mulligan exclaimed excitedly, dropping the script and taking the chocolates, "It's my favorite."
Murphy leaned against the corner wall, seeing this scene now, instead of rushing out, he knew the girl Carey Mulligan, she didn't have anything good in mind for James Franco, and the excitement was obviously all faked.
He has returned, and is not afraid of what James Franco will do, instead, he is curious about Carey Mulligan, what is the purpose of this girl acting like this?
James Franco pointed to the chocolate box, "Don't you want to try a piece?"
Carey Mulligan, however, put down the chocolates and picked up the script again, "It's better to wait until the rehearsal is over, we'll rehearse another scene."
"Which scene?" James Franco asked.
Carey Mulligan gave a cute smile, "Haley subduing Jeff for the first time."
