The Re-Estize Kingdom, often referred to simply as "The Kingdom," was situated to the west of the Azerlisia Mountains and northwest of Nazarick, boasting an estimated population of nine million. This nation emerged over two hundred years ago, following the defeat of the Evil Deities. Despite being one of the three major human nations near Nazarick, the Kingdom faced persistent political turmoil caused by ongoing conflicts between the royal family and the nobility, which effectively split the country in two.
The Re-Estize Kingdom operated as a feudal state with a clear hierarchical structure. At the top were the king and the royal family, followed by the nobility who controlled significant landholdings, while serfs occupied the lowest tier.
Titles and professions were strictly hereditary, and social mobility was nearly impossible due to the nobles' fear that any changes might threaten their power and status. Small-scale conflicts between nobles over their interests were not uncommon.
The Kingdom adhered to male primogeniture, meaning the eldest son inherited the entirety of the estate, while the second son served as his aide, and younger sons were often pushed out. Parents typically only had additional sons as "spares" in case of the first two premature deaths. Consequently, younger sons of high-ranking nobles often became knights or butlers in service to royalty or allied nobles, while women were frequently seen as political pawns in marriage arrangements. It was also not unusual for commoners and lower-ranked nobles to abandon their children.
A deeply ingrained belief in the Kingdom held that strong cavalrymen defined the essence of a successful warrior. This perspective led many, particularly among the nobility, to dismiss magic as inferior, contrasting sharply with the perceptions found in the Slane Theocracy and the Baharuth Empire.
The citizens of the Kingdom practiced the worship of the Four Great Gods, alongside a variety of minor deities.
The literacy rate in the Kingdom was notably low. Soldiers stationed at checkpoints were typically required to be able to read and write, and literacy was also essential for adventurers; a literacy test was mandatory for entry into the Adventurer's Guild.
Generally, education was accessible mainly to those of noble birth, royalty, and wealthy merchants. Even then, lower-ranked nobles often lacked the resources to educate all their children, resulting in educational privileges being mostly granted to the eldest child, who was expected to inherit the estate.
The history of adventurers dates back 200 years. After the conflict between the Evil Deities and the Thirteen Heroes, human nations experienced social chaos and devastation. In response to this crisis, Adventurer Guilds were established, providing a new purpose for adventurers to hunt monsters and assist others.
To become an adventurer, one must register with the Adventurer's Guild. Currently, there are approximately 3,000 adventurers operating in the Re-Estize Kingdom, with around 600 of them ranked Platinum or higher.
While adventurers are theoretically tasked with exploring ruins and uncharted territories of the New World, in practice, most of their activities revolve around monster extermination.
Ainz, along with Narberal Gamma and Faust, travels to E-Rantel using their adventurer aliases, Momon, Nabe, and Mephisto. AInz wore full-body ebony black armor to hide his undead nature and used swords instead of magic. Naberal used her ability as a doppelganger to transform into a human. But she maintained all of her features. Her only true change was her skin was no longer as pale and she wore common mage robes. Faust now going by Mephisto, used a potion to dye his hair red and change the color of his eyes. His left eys was now blue and his right eye was red. He wore a charcoal grey fit that consisted of combat boots, tactical trousers, a form-fitted jacket, and a mask that covered his lower face. Starting out as low-ranking adventurers with copper plates, they check into an inn to rest but soon find themselves in a minor skirmish. To resolve the situation, Ainz gives one of his YGGDRASIL potions to a female adventurer as compensation.
The following day, they join forces with the Swords of Darkness for a monster extermination mission. Just as they're about to leave, they are approached by Nfirea Bareare, who wants to hire Momon as an escort to Carne Village to gather herbs. However, his true aim is to learn about the recipe for the potion that Brita recently brought, a potion originally from Ainz. Ainz agrees to the escort request on the condition that the Swords of Darkness accompany them, to which Nfirea consents.
Meanwhile, a sinister group named Zurrernorn led by Khajiit Dale Badantel, a Necromancer, is offered assistance by Clementine, a former holder of the ninth seat of the Black Scripture. They agree to work together to raise a massive undead army in the hopes of turning E-Rantel into a second undead city. To realize their scheme, they need to get a hold of Nfirea, so that they can use a very powerful magic item due to his talent that allows him to use any magic item. With him having left the city at the moment, there is no other choice but to wait for his return.
Faust/Mephisto Pov.
Hmmm, I'm already perceived as the strong silent type. Naberal the shy beauty and Ainz-sama the grizzly, yet kind leader. I haven't said a word this entire trip...not that I had anything to say. But I must finalize this role I'll be playing before we become more well-known.
I'm glad Ainz-sama went with the name I chose for our adventure group. The Triumvirate, meaning a group of three holding power. My plan is for us to be small yet powerful, Showing that the three of us alone are equal to stronger, larger groups. This will put us in the spotlight like Ainz-sama wants. What we need now are feats to back up such a name.
Swords of Darkness is a silver-class adventurer group stationed in E-Rantel and our current companions. The group's name was based on its dream of collecting the Swords of Darkness, heroic weapons that were used by the Black Knight a member of the thirteen heroes. The members were extremely close, having braved many near-death situations together. Each member carried a black shortsword with four small jewels embedded in the hilt. These swords represented the team's symbol and determination to make their dream come true. Their members are Ninya a silver-ranked adventurer, magic caster, and strategist of the Swords of Darkness. Ninya had brown hair and blue eyes with a face that looked childish, the best-looking face of the group. Her skin was pale and she wore leather clothes.
Next Lukrut Volvewas a silver-ranked adventurer and ranger of the Swords of Darkness. Lukrut had blonde hair and brown eyes that gave him a cheerful look. He wore leather armor, and had a thin body with his long and skinny limbs gave him the impression of a spider.
Thirdly Dyne Woodwonder a silver-ranked adventurer and druid of the Swords of Darkness. Dyne had a huge groomed beard covering his mouth and coupled with his bulky body, he looked like a barbarian. He had the faint smell of grass on him, which seemingly came from the pouches on his waist. His eyes were always closed.
The final member was Peter Mauk a silver-ranked adventurer and leader of the Swords of Darkness. Peter had blonde hair and blue eyes, both of which were common in the kingdom, while his unremarkable face had smooth features. He wore chainmail armor with numerous chains of rings forming a mesh, which was worn on top of a leather shirt.
I gaze down at my exposed tattooed arms since I've already decided on a character with a mysterious yet somewhat tragic past—one of gains and losses. Hmm, perhaps I'll say they're a curse. If someone asks for me to show them how to make it or any questions along that line I can say. ' Are you willing to sacrifice all that you love, to walk a path of blood' and if the edgy response fails I'll simply say no. I even gave them edgy names. The Right Hand of Doom. The array acts as a catalyst to sever molecular or metaphysical bonds of whatever it touches. This ability can disintegrate matter (e.g., weapons, armor, or structures), dispel magical effects, or even disrupt energy constructs like barriers. Although Relic Class and above items can resist it. However multiple hits can wear that resistance down.
Next is the Left Hand of Renewal since I felt Salvation would be too edgy...then again. Anyway. The array can restore destroyed or damaged materials to their original state. This could be used for healing injuries, repairing artifacts, or rejuvenating the land. Alteration allows the character to reshape objects or entities at a fundamental level—e.g., transforming a simple iron ore into a custom-crafted weapon, altering the magical properties of an item, or reshaping the environment it touches with a certain range.
And it seems the opportunity to test them on the creature of this world was about to present itself as I get several life signatures rushing through the tree lines heading in our direction. Still in character, I stood up alerting everyone.
"Momon-san," I said. He nodded his armored head in response. "Go ahead," he said.
Hearing this I cemented my persona. I would be the battle maniac of the group. Not the brutish kind mind you. But the type that had excellent battle IQ mixed with decent deductive skill. Can't besmirch lord Ainz's name in disguise or not by having this adventure be associated with a single-minded battle maniac? In that case, I'll be a battle maniac with a pinch of finesse...yes that'll do it.
Persona found, download completer...Show time.
"Yahoo," I said as I launched from the carriage towards the hostile group of goblins and ogres." Nabe! Take out the fodder at the back. I'll handle the front." I landed before the approaching group and slammed my left hand down. The Swords of Darkness adventure team looked on in awe as they rippled before, shifting in spiked terrain within movements skewering the goblin in front leading the charge.
Nabe finished charging her spell. With her finger pointed toward the back row.
"Dragon Lightning," she said and a blast of white lightning in the shape of a writhing dragon shot out from her finger and crashed into the goblins. The spasmed and seized moving.
"That-that was 5th Tier magic" exclaimed Ninya. She could only cast 1st tier spells. How could this group only be copper-ranked?
Momon who had also launched himself from the carriage came down in the center of the group, chopping an orge in half as he descended. he then spun and bisected another in one swift motion.
The last orge came in from his blind side and swung its fist at his head, aiming to crush the skull of the one that killed his comrades.
"Momon-san look out!" shouted Peter. But his concerns were unneeded as Momon ducked in response to the ogre's attack. Mephisto in sink with Mommon jumped over his back and launched a right palm at the incoming fist. The Swords of Darkness members thought he was insane. A human beating with an ogre in terms of strength is impossible. But what happened next was not a clash.
As soon as Mephisto's tight hand made contact with the ogre...it exploded, and so did the rest of its upper body. In response to that he nearly put his hand in his pocket, turned around, and headed back to the carriage with a somewhat bored expression in his eyes.
Momon who was in front of him sheathed his great sword on his back as he too was heading back.
The audience all had one thought. They just witnessed a potential future adamantine-rank group in action. A magic caster capable of 5th-tier magic, a sword clad in armor that kills orges with one swing of his sword, and a monk or perhaps martial artist that changes the terrain with one hand and kills with a touch using the other. Would anyone believe them when they regale them of what they saw here today?
