Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 :- The Mysterious Book

As the morning turns into noon, the sunlight becomes warmer,

Alexander places Aisha beside him from his arm.

The noon ahead promised to be a busy one, filled with meetings that required his attention.

With a sense of determination, he sat up in bed and glanced over at Aisha,

Who is softly nestled under the warm covers.

After waking up a few hours ago, she fell asleep once again.

Alexander could understand that last night's late waking up made her this much tired.

"Aisha," Alexander spoke softly, his voice tinged with a hint of urgency.

"I have an online meeting soon. Once I'm done, we'll have lunch together. But for now, just rest well."

Aisha shifted slightly, her big brown eyes fluttering open as she tried to shake off the remnants of sleep.

She looked at Alexander with her brown eyes meeting his blue, pointed ones, and a faint smile tugged at the corners of her red, rosy lips.

"Mmm, all right," she murmured, her voice laced with the warmth. "I'll be up soon. Just give me a few more moments."

Understanding her need for a few extra hours of rest,

Alexander nodded gently and swung his legs over the side of the bed.

He rose to his feet,

And reached for his shirt, he quietly slipped it on, buttoning it up with practiced precision.

"I'll see you at the lunch table then," Alexander said, his tone filled with reassurance.

With a final glance at Aisha, he turned and headed out of the room to prepare for his virtual meeting.

Meanwhile, Aisha remained cocooned in the soft embrace of the blankets.

A few moments passed, and Aisha stirred, her eyelids fluttering open slowly.

She blinked sleepily, taking in the sight of the empty room before remembering Alexander's departure.

With a soft sigh, she sat up in bed, she felt her back throbbing.

the blanket slipping slightly from her shoulders.

Gathering the blanket around her, Aisha held it close, feeling a sense of comfort in its familiar embrace.

In that moment, with the world outside still and quiet,

Aisha was at ease because she did not think anyone would harass or badger her for work.

Nor does she need to greet her Madam or make teas for young masters over and over again,

Neither does anyone else assign her their work.

Aisha slept the entire morning, but no one said anything to her.

Even there is a teacup filled with aromatic tea beside her bed.

It is a rare moment of stillness in the chaos of her original life, a moment to simply be and rest.

Even though she wants to rest.

But she can't, she has work to do.

With a final deep breath, she swung her legs over the side of the bed.

As she tried to rise from her bed, a sharp pain shot through her leg, causing her to topple off onto the hard ground below.

Confusion clouded her senses as she gazed down at her now uncooperative limb, unable to feel a thing.

"Why does he have to be this strong," Aisha muttered through clenched teeth, her voice tinged with both admiration and frustration.

"Although he was good and kind to me last night. Today it feels like hell, and my back is killing me."

Despite the discomfort coursing through her body,

A small smile tugged at the corners of Aisha's lips as she remembered the moments of the previous evening.

The memory of Alexander's strength as he held her in his arms and the warmness that she felt from him flooded her mind.

Those memories gave her a blush on her cheek and made her heart warm even as her body protested the strain.

For a brief moment, Aisha allowed herself to bask in the afterglow of their shared intimacy,

The tender moments they had shared in the darkness.

But reality quickly reasserted itself as she struggled to regain her footing,

The pain in her leg was a stark reminder of the physical toll their passion had taken.

With a deep breath, Aisha pushed herself up from the ground,

Gritting her teeth against the ache that radiated through her body.

As Aisha slowly stood up from the cold, hard ground,

She could feel every muscle in her body protesting the movement.

She glanced around the bright room, her eyes lingering on the heavy door of her room.

With quick, deliberate movements, she moved across the room and secured the door,

Ensuring no unwanted eyes could pry into her work.

The windows, normally a source of natural light and fresh air, were closed shut,

Blocking any intruding sounds or sights from the outside world.

Aisha moved with purpose,

Sliding the heavy curtains across and sealing off her room from the prying eyes of the curious.

As she closed them off, a sense of isolation enveloped her,

The faint light filtering through the curtains cast a warm glow, creating a serene ambiance.

The gentle hum of the noon sun held her room in tranquility.

She stands in front of her bookshelf.

Which is filled with an old and new book.

Aisha's eyes settled on an intriguing book in the collection of an ancient leather-bound tome,

Its cover was embossed with peculiar symbols that seemed to glow softly in the dim light.

Intrigued, she reached out and gently pulled the book from the shelf.

As she flipped through the yellowed pages, a perfectly carved hole within the book appeared,

Just the right size to hold a slender object like a phone.

Aisha carefully took out the phone from the slot.

Thanks to Lynda for throwing my old beg,

Now no one can suspect me,

Everyone will think I don't have any touch with the outside world.

Upon awakening from her dream of a previous life,

Aisha takes out the book, in which she hides her phone from everyone.

She was aware of Lynda's next-day's actions because of her memories from her previous life.

Aisha breathed a sigh of relief as she looked at her phone's network bar.

Last night, after Alexander put her in bed and went to the shower,

Subtly, Aisha grabbed his phone and used it to verify her phone's network.

Salvatore Mansion has its network system, which is managed by Alexander's men, for security reasons.

to prevent anyone from interacting with the outside world other than for observation.

Only Alexander's phone can verified other devices.

Aisha knew that before and also knew she got caught for using this method that's why she wanted to finish her work as soon as possible.

Aisha dialed a number,

A number that she never had dialed before nor even in her previous life,

Even so, it seemed familiar in some way to her.

After a few moments of anticipation,

a deep, resonant voice crackled through the line.

The voice seemed to vibrate with an energy that was both captivating and enigmatic,

like the sound of distant thunder rolling across an endless sky.

"Hello?" the voice intoned, its timbre rich and commanding.

Aisha stays silent, she waits for another response from that person.

"Who is this?" that voice asks,

Aisha chuckled softly, she felt a rush of familiarly warm within this childish voice.
