When Saras returned home that evening, a delightful aroma of deep fried garlic and sweet onions hit his nose. He instantly knew his mother was cooking at home today and was making his favorite Fenugreek Salad!
Saras quickly washed up and returned downstairs for the meal. As he expected, he found a delicious bowl of tender green Fenugreek salad sitting on the dining table.
Chunks of lightly sauteed fresh tomatoes, onions and coarse garlic peeked through the leaves. Coarse red chutney made from roasted dry peanuts was sprinkled on the leaves, adding a nutty texture and a tantalizing heat to the Salad.
Accompanying the Salad were freshly made golden brown Parathas that were still warm to touch. Just the vibrance of the colors whetted his appetite and he could not wait to dig in.
