They were too late.
Despite making haste, Samar and others had only reached halfway point of their steep climb up the cliff. This was the moment when Marna and her three platoons of Black Blood Sentinels arrived at the location.
With a gaze of a victor, she looked down at Samar and the others, who were hanging by the ropes halfway through their climb.
"Did you really think you could escape from my trap so easily?" Marna smirked, her voice echoing through the valley.
Her eyes were bubbling with joy as she saw anger and despair in the eyes of the five Harbingers behind Samar but the one she wanted to see distressed the most, showed no fear. His calm nonchalance ruined her happiness.
"If you beg me, I can let you leave alive…" Marna tempted Samar, trying to elicit a reaction from him but he did not let her have the pleasure of toying with him.
