Chapter 33 - The Bread Party's Reality Check

"The Golden Plains! We are here!"

A bearded man exclaimed loudly as he climbed atop a small hill in the vast grasslands. His three other teammates also joined him on top and looked at the beautiful sunny plains with shining eyes.

"Boss Bun, our Bread Party is probably the first to arrive here right?"

A slightly chubby figure asked while licking his lips as if he was seeing a juicy piece of bread.

"Of course, we are the first! We will also become the overlords of this map soon. Then even the Fortune Guild and Grandeur guild will fight to recruit us."

The Bread Party leader said while clapping on the back of this young man. He could already see the bright future ahead for his party.

His confidence came from the fact that all four of them were at lv 6. They also had at least two pieces of Ash - Gray equipment each. This configuration could be considered as top tier in the Barbarian Village #89. Even the Elite teams of the Fortune Guild could only match their configuration and were not much better.

He had also obtained a Lv 4 Ash-gray grade Giant Sword from completing a rare quest. This weapon made him feel like he was unrivaled amongst the people of the same level. Hence, he had brought his party to hunt the Wild Dogs.

Just as the party was daydreaming about their bright future, a pack of three Wild Dogs snuck up on them.

"Shit! We are under attack!"

The assassin in the team, FlatBread, noticed the situation and immediately warned his teammates. He had leather armor and a pair of boots but his weapon was still the basic broken knife that players received in the beginning.

His yell brought his teammates back to reality. Three of them were melee class players while one was a mage without spells. They each picked a Wild Dog and engaged them in the battle while the Mage supported the assassin from the side.

The Party Leader blocked the greenish claw of the Wild Dog with his wide blade and pushed the dog back. But his teammates were not so lucky.

Two Wild Dogs jumped on them and each attack took away nearly 20 points of the HP.

"Fuck! Their damage is this high?" The mage, Brioche, exclaimed with shock when he saw his HP bar fall directly into yellow.

But since they could reach this place at Lv6, they naturally possessed some skill. FlatBread, Brioche and Croissant soon became accustomed to the rhythm of the attacks while their leader, Boss Bun, killed his opponent.

However, the Bread Party still lost the Mage and the Assassin before Boss Bun could kill all three of the dogs. This made them realize the horrifying strength of the monsters on this map.

As they waited for FlatBread and Brioche to revive, the Chubby Croissant looked at his Party Leader with slight apprehension and asked -

"Boss Bun, the monsters are so dangerous here. How about we retreat to the Lv4 map and come back when we are stronger?"

At this moment the corpses of the killed Wild Dogs turned to dust, leaving behind three shining White Fangs. The Bearded man picked them up with joy and showed them to the chubby teen.

"See this, Croissant? If we collect enough of these White Fangs, we can exchange for White-Wood grade equipment! The sacrifice of our brothers is worth it!"

The chubby teen was not completely convinced yet. The trauma from the gruesome death of the Assassin and the Mage was too strong.

Boss Bun then said, "Croissant, this is actually a good opportunity for us. We can at least kill these monsters but other adventurers can't. If we monopolize the resources on this map wouldn't we become the strongest team?"

Hearing this reasoning, light once again began to shine in the Croissant's eyes. He suddenly seemed to have remembered something.

"Boss Bun, I heard that the main party of the Grandeur Guild in our Village is undergoing a Penalty Quest. By now their combat power must have fallen behind us, right? Should we challenge them to become the main party of Grandeur Guild in Village #89?"

The chubby teen was slightly timid but his ambition wasn't low. He was already plotting the downfall of Stivi's team.

But before the bearded man could answer him, they heard sounds of violent fighting coming from deeper in the grasslands.

"What the hell! Someone arrived here earlier than our party?"

The Bearded man exclaimed with shock and immediately started to move in the direction of the fight. The scene before him left him aghast.

A team of six people were surrounded by two packs of five dogs and yet they were easily dealing with their attacks at the same time.

The huge figure bashed the leading dog with his head and secured the aggro of one pack of dogs. Even when all of the dogs in the pack attacked the tanking player, they failed to lower his health below 60%.

The 40% health he lost was also recovered gradually after the demure healer at the back shot a white beam of light on him.

The other pack of dogs tried to target the healer but they were stopped by the Assassin and the Swordswoman. They took on two dogs each.

The assassin evaded most of the attacks with deft movements while striking at the vitals of the dogs.

On the other side, the Swordswoman parried the fangs and claws of the dogs and counterattacked skillfully with her sword.

The last remaining dog was bound in fiery chains by the Mage and the Archer leisurely shot him to death. After killing one, the two ranged DPS players turned to help the Tank and killed off the other dogs one by one.

Never once did they look like they were in danger. The entire battle was so smooth that the players even had a bored look on their face; as if they had done these same actions hundreds of times before.

Soon the battle came to an end and the Party left after collecting the drops. They did not even take a few minutes to rest!

Long after they were gone, the bearded man and the chubby teen emerged from the nearby grass.

"Who… Who are they?"

Boss Bun asked with deep fear and respect in his voice. He had seen a team of Lv5 players take on two packs of five dogs and kill them with ease. Even his party, which could be considered the crème de la crème in Village #89 could not achieve a similar feat despite being Lv6.

So it was obvious he was filled with awe for them.

After a long pause, he still did not hear an answer from the chubby teen. When he turned, he saw the teen's mouth spasming while his left eye was twitching crazily.

Noticing the leader's gaze, Croissant came back to his senses and answered, "Boss Bun, that woman was RedQueen… That was probably the main party of the Grandeur Guild."

The two of them exchanged glances. They could already see how ridiculous their dreams of becoming the overlord of this map and overtaking Stivi's team were.
