Chapter 10 - Righteous Grandeur Guild

"You Fortune Guild's bastards, don't go overboard! You cannot simply hog an important NPC of the Beginner Village. Our Grandeur Guild will never stand for such injustice being done to other players!"

A female sword wielder at level 5 loudly scolded the 10 Fortune Guild Players stationed outside the Barbarian Chief Sorsa's tent.

Behind her stood a party of five. Astonishingly, all five members of the party had reached Lv5 and had at least one piece of equipment or a weapon on them.

Though all of their equipment were of the lowest Ashgray grade, they were still much better than the rest of the players who were still using the trash dull knife given to the newbies.

Their weapons and levels signified that this was a team of Elites. The Players from the Fortune Guild also recognized this fact. They all turned to look at the burly man with an ax hanging on his back.

Clearly, he was their leader, so the Elite Team from Grandeur also trained their eyes on him.

Under everyone's gazes, the Ax wielder stepped forward and stopped in front of the female swordsman. He looked down at her and sneered.

"Do you think your Grandeur Guild would go to war with the Fortune Guild over such a small matter? If you want to meet the Barbarian Chief, pay up one coin. If you don't have coins, I can lend you some in exchange for some favors."

His eyes lasciviously scanned the full figure of the female swordsman, and he licked his lips. It was clear what favors he was talking about.

Unfortunately, he had messed with the wrong person.

Any normal girl would be intimidated if a burly man head taller than her, entered her personal space but not Stivi. She stared at the sneering man with fire in her eyes.

In a calm and chilly tone, she issued an order to her team, "Kill them all!"

Her sword moved faster than her voice, which had already taken away 40% of the man's health when her command fell in his ears. She roughly pulled out the sword that had pierced through his stomach, taking away another 10% of his health.

The Ax-wielding Player from Fortune Guild was also an Elite. He tried to fight back, but he had already fallen into a disadvantageous position.

First of all, like most players, he did not have any armor on. So, each of Stivi's sword strikes dealt huge amounts of damage. The Ax in his hands remained an ornament as he could not wield it properly without the aid of skills, that too, at such a close range.

Still, he did not give up and struggled hard, showing why he was the leader of the Fortune guild's team. He stopped trying to attack with his ax and raised it just enough to cover his body behind it.

He finally managed to block one horizontal slash using his unwieldy ax, but that was not the end.

Stivi followed it up with a kick to his exposed crotch, bringing him to his knees. Many men winced as his loud wail resounded through the camp.

After her continuous onslaught of attacks, Stivi needed a breather. She gulped air as she readied her sword for her next strike, only to notice that there were no sounds of fighting.

Stivi looked around and saw the stunned faces of the bystanders. Her companions looked just as shocked as her enemies by her actions.

"What are you waiting for? Kill those bastards!"

Her party members recovered from their shock after her loud and annoyed growl. They began to attack the other Lv3 players from the Fortune Guild.

As her party members joined the fray, Stivi slashed at the Ax wielder's neck and took away the last of his health. He turned into dust, and his Ax was the only thing left behind on the ground.

Death in any VR game was a horrific experience. So a player was given a compulsory timeout of 20 minutes after death.

Stivi knew this, so she relaxed her tense body a bit. She picked up the Ax at leisure as she did not have to worry about the Player coming back online immediately and jumping her from behind.

Then she looked around. All she could see was mayhem and chaos. Even the independent players had joined in the fight.

They were long dissatisfied with the Fortune Guild's tyranny and took this chance to land a few solid hits on the guild's members.

They were not afraid of their identity being exposed. In Dreamverse VR, if a player was killed, only the name of the Player who had landed the killing hit would remain in his PK notification logs.

As long as these independent players avoided landing the last hit, their identity would remain hidden from their victims. So, many independent players attacked without hesitation.

Stivi searched for her party members in the chaos. All of the Players were fighting in close quarters as there was no distinction of classes yet.

Few of the Magic classes had learned spells at this point. Even the lucky few who managed to find a basic Fireball or Icy Wind spellbook would empty their Mana after casting just 3 or 4 of them.

After that, they could only use their staffs as blunt weapons to smack their opponents.

This was also the case with the Mage of Stivi's Party. had emptied his Mana after casting four icy winds, and now he too, was engaged in melee combat against his opponents.

In such physical brawls, naturally, the ones with the weapons had the upper hand. Not to mention that every member of Stivi's party was the Elite of the guild.

Every one of them had managed to overpower their opponents except for Mia.

This little girl aspired to be a Healer, and her game experience was much lower than others. She was encircled by two players from Fortune Guild and had fallen into a disadvantage.

Just as the punches and kicks of the two players were about to land on her, Stivi came to her rescue.

She engaged the two players. Focusing on the one with lower health, she slashed and sliced and stabbed again, turning him into mincemeat. When she turned to face the other Player, he was nowhere to be seen.

"Rat! He must've mixed in with those independent players and ran away."

A lean guy with a frown on his face approached Stivi and said with a displeased tone. He continuously unsheathed the dagger hanging by his waist, giving it a spin and sheathing it again. His actions barely took 5 seconds, and he did not even seem aware of it.

"It's okay, Zamir. We just let one slip." Stivi said, helping Mia up from the ground. She then looked at the many gathered players and said, "First, let's spread the good name of Grandeur Guild."
