I was desperate.
Desperate to grab my sister. I could hear the voice diminishing in my ear
I was afraid.. To lose something again.
The storm was fierce, the waves were angry.
Perhaps it was a sign of warning by the ocean god, not to disturb it.
"I don't know if you exist or not, but if you do please give me one last strength to pull my sister. I beg you", Arthur hummed as he was struggling to pull his sister.
Arthur tried his best to pull his sister.
Yet his abilities as a man were not remarkable.
He tried his best, to pull up his sister but her grip was fading, fading into the void.Ā
"Marie, grab my hand hard and don't you dare - leave it", Arthur screamed in tears of melancholy.
"I won't, I'll hang in there", Marie replied as Arthur's tears dripped down toĀ her face.
Arthur struggled to pull Marie up.
His hands did not have the strength to pull someone out from despair.
As arthur's hand slipped, Marie could do nothing but hope;
Hope that her brother will come and save her.
"Marie-", Arthur whispered with eyes, that no rain could ever compete with.
"Yes?", Marie replied with a seemingly smiling face.
"You don't need to be whimsical -" Arthur is cut off by the jerk of the ship.
Arthur let Marie drift.
He could see his sister's body fall into the ocean, while his sister looked at him.
One couldn't help but ponder, if she looked into arthur's solace or his inability as a man,
Though, one could amend Arthur for trying his best. He couldn't help but bash the blame on him.
Ā
Arthur vision slowly fades away.
I had a dream.
A dream where I had a brother, trying to protect me while I was falling into the ocean.
I have been seeing that dream from time to time and it gets more vivid every night.
I wonder why?
"Marie wake up, how long are you going to sleep?', her mother asks.
"I'll be ready in a moment", Marie replies.
Marie opens her window revealing the ocean, crystal clear reflecting back the sun's gleaming light.
"It;s so pretty,"Ā
"But, I'm afraid of it, such a shame"
Marie goes downstairs to support her mother, but her mother had already done the chores while she was lost in her fantasies.
"Oh, she's going to hit me", marie thought while her mother looked at her in a cold gaze.
"I wonder what the time is", her mother laughs in a sarcastic way.
It was clear to Marie that her mother was angry.
"O- Oh 10 A.M maybe", Marie smiles awkwardly
"Is it really 10 A.M i wonder", Her mother mocks her.
Marie looks at the clock, and it's 1 pm.
"Eh, there's no way i zoned out for that long", Marie thinks, surprised.
Marie mother was furious as she screamed "You Should Fix Your Habit"
"I'm Sorry", Marie said in a rather humorous accent.
Faraway from Marie's village, the northern area where beasts reside and the weather is so harsh, that even the yeti's freeze.
"Even if my limbs are not here.
I'll keep marching", Arthur says as he looks at his swollen hand.
Arthur's hand is almost decapitated, but the cold numbs his body.
All he can do is lie in the beast's den, waiting for the mother to arrive so it can feast on him.
"Tsk, i may have thought that but i cannot do anything", arthur says.
Arthur can feel bloodlust in the air.
A gleaming red eye in the distance can be seen, clearly indicating that is not a friend to Arthur.
The creature is revealed to have fierce teeth, roaring and seemingly three times larger than a tiger.
"Back in my home, while I used to read the forbidden books of my father. It was said that strange beasts exist in this world.
I always used to think that was a fake story book, but I'd never even imagined myself being hunted by it" Arthur murmurs with pure dread in his eyes.
Arthur could do nothing but look as the creature was about to devour him.
The creature jumped into the air indicating its finishing move.
"I am a man, not of my words; Nor am I of my value, it would be insulting to call me even a proper man, as the men needn't require such a weak offspring." Arthur gives up.
"I couldn't save my own sister, what good would even come if i lived anymore"
Arthur suddenly could hear the footsteps of salvation, while the beast was about to devour Arthur, a vivid yet vague, a euphoric yet crestfallen straight light could clearly be seen as the light cuts down the beast into two halves, the slow falling of the beast body reveals a elegant yet rough knight sowing his sorrows to the beast, saving Arthur's life.
The knight turns towards arthur, in a state of confusion
Arthur is still immobile, as the scene went too fast for him to process.
"And who may be you?", the knight inquires.
ā¦.
Arthur is still immobile
"Oh - I'm sorry", Arthur snaps back to reality.
Ā The knight slides it off and smirks.
"And, may I inquire who you are?", the knight asked once again.
Arthur is hesitant, as he have no way of foreseeing what may happen but
He eventually says
"I'm Arthur, and who are you?"
The knight looks into Arthur's eyes.
"He doesn't seem to be lying", the knight thinks.
"I'm just a knight, wandering from slums to slums", he replied.
"Oh so you happen to not have a name?"Arthur replies.
The knight is seemingly shocked with the sarcastic tone he just replied with.
"My name is -"
Before the knight can say it, Arthur passes out.
"Well, this is troublesome now", the knight says in an annoyed way.
"Guess I'll take him home."

Ā The Great Wave
7 years after the great wave.
1000 CE.
The great wave that hit the calm seas of balteus 7 years before had a catastrophic effect on mankind. It destroyed 40% of the global economy, stripped people away from their loved ones and destroyed ocean life.
Rumours have that the sea god was angry leading to the chaos.
But what it affected the most wasn't the sea itself, It was the continents.
The 4 continents, Eastern continent, Western continent, Northern continent, Southern Continent moved in random directions.Ā
Majority of Mankind had not yet been exposed to the northern and western continents, whoever had gone to venture, never returned back and whoever did return back, were executed. Any information regarding the continents were classified as confidential matter, not to be released for the public because simply the existence of the animals that existed would surely ensure chaos into society.
But, the Great Wave led to some problems, no human thought that would happen.
The creatures from the northern continents and the demons from the western continents were brought forth together.
They had gone berserk.
Devouring any new creature they see, the southern continent went down extremely quickly. All of mankind is either living peacefully in the east, or are either trapped in the northern hell. Travelling from the Northern continent to the eastern continent is almost impossible because due to the great wave, the southern continent acts as a bridge, but it's so large in size it's nearly impossible to escape by land due to the presence of the fallen angel.
And sailing by sea is impossible due to the ravaging nature of hydra. So all humans have no choice but to stay in the continent they are in, But the west is the only continent that's lost. Not to be found or yet to be explored.
To be continuedā¦
