Chapter 1 - "KINDNESS AND BETRAYAL" (Tara's pov)

Mavis was known for her unwavering willingness to help others.

She possessed a kind heart that seemed to have no limits when it came to lending a hand.

Whether it was assisting her classmates with their homework, offering guidance during difficult times, or simply being there as a listening ear, Mavis never hesitated to extend her support.

Her acts of kindness were not limited to just her friends; she would readily assist anyone who approached her for help.

It didn't matter if the task was small or significant; Mavis believed that every act of kindness had the power to make a difference in someone's life.

Her selflessness and genuine desire to make the world a better place made her stand out among her peers.

Mavis's willingness to help others often stemmed from her own experiences of needing assistance in the past.

She understood how it felt to be in a vulnerable position and longed to prevent others from experiencing the same hardships she had faced.

This empathy fueled her determination to be there for those in need, even if it meant sacrificing her own time and energy.

One particular incident that showcased Mavis's unwavering commitment to helping others was when she was asked by a fellow student named Sarah to open a stubborn door.

Without hesitation, Mavis gladly accepted the request, eager to lend a hand once again.

Little did she know that this act of kindness would lead to an unexpected turn of events.

As Mavis reached out for the doorknob, excitement filled her heart at the thought of successfully completing another task for someone in need.

However, as soon as she turned the knob, an unexpected cascade of water poured down from above, drenching her from head to toe.

The bucket of water that had been precariously balanced on top of the door had been intentionally placed there as a prank.

The shock and humiliation that washed over Mavis were palpable.

Her entire uniform clung to her body, soaked through and through. Laughter erupted from the surrounding students, including Damian, A boy who had often been one of the main instigators of teasing and mockery towards Mavis.

The incident left her feeling not only physically uncomfortable but emotionally wounded as well.

This incident served as a turning point in Mavis's life.

It was a harsh awakening to the reality that her kindness could be taken advantage of and used against her.

The betrayal she experienced at the hands of her peers shattered her trust in others and left her questioning whether her acts of kindness were worth it.

Mavis's kind nature made her an easy target for teasing and mockery from other students.

Her willingness to help others was seen by some as a weakness, an opportunity to exploit her naivety for their own amusement.

They would often create situations where Mavis's kindness would be turned against her, leaving her vulnerable to think.

The incident with the bucket of water was just one example of the relentless teasing that Mavis endured on a daily basis.

Students would make snide remarks about her gullibility or play pranks designed to embarrass or humiliate her.

These acts were not limited to just verbal taunts; they extended into cyberbullying as well, with hurtful messages being sent anonymously online.

The constant teasing took a toll on Mavis's self-esteem and confidence.

She began to doubt herself and question whether she deserved such treatment simply because she chose to be kind-hearted.

The emotional pain inflicted by these actions pushed Mavis into isolation, causing her to withdraw from social interactions and lose faith in humanity.

However, amidst all the negativity, there were also those who admired Mavis's unwavering kindness.

They saw her as a beacon of light in a world that often seemed dark and cruel.

These individuals recognized the strength it took to remain kind in the face of adversity and admired Mavis for her resilience.

In conclusion, Mavis's willingness to help others was both her greatest strength and her greatest vulnerability.

Her acts of kindness were genuine and heartfelt, driven by a desire to make a positive impact on those around her.

However, this kindness was often taken advantage of, leading to betrayal and relentless teasing from her peers.

Despite the hardships she faced, Mavis's journey would take an unexpected turn after disappearing for three months, leaving everyone wondering what had transpired during that time and how it had transformed her into someone entirely different.
