As soon as the contestants entered, Cyril's eyes fell on the face he once again felt familiar. He recalled that this man was the one with the name Fraer.
Cyril couldn't help but frown as his gaze followed the man's each and every step. He had a bad feeling as he looked at him.
Fraer raised his eyes and looked at Cyril. The man smiled. The smile looked eerie for some reason.
"Long time no see, Mr Carcer," the man greeted and extended his hand.
Cyril was stunned. No one here knows Cyril's name except a few of the ones who were on a contract with him. Even them only know his first name. No one knew that his family name was Carcer. He never introduced himself with his full name at all.
After all, the name Carcer is a household name in the outside world. There would be no one who doesn't know the name Carcer. Hence, he doesn't want anyone else to know that he was from the Carcer family.
No matter how he looked at the man named Fraer, Cyril couldn't recognize him except for feeling a little familiar.
Looking at his frown, Fraer chuckled, "Looks like you didn't recognize me, Mr Carcer. Well, I wouldn't blame you either. I have changed so much since I came here after all."
Cyril frowned. Yes, he doesn't know anyone with such a strong build while he was outside. Now that Fraer said those words, he understood that he had trained his body while he was inside prison to gain such a strong build.
But, who exactly was this man?
He couldn't remember yet. The audience started shouting to start the competition immediately and Cyril came back to his senses.
He started the competition and the two men locked their arms.
Everyone started cheering for the person whom they betted on.
Since it was the final of the first game, Cyril named good prizes even for the ones who placed their bets. So almost everyone had placed huge amounts of bets. This made the cheers and screams from the crowd louder.
Cyril smiled as he clapped from the sidelines cheering for both sides. Without any partiality.
He looked at both the contestants. Their eyes locked as they tried their best to press their respective opponent's hand down.
Cyril then saw Fraer's eyes raise. Their eyes locked.
There was a sudden change in Fraer's expression. He noticed anger, fury and killing intent in his eyes.
Cyril was stunned. He couldn't believe there was someone with such deep emotions for him.
But, who is Fraer to have those immense hatred for him? What had he done to him to deserve that hatred? He couldn't recall at all.
He saw Fraer's eyes turn red and veins pop out on his forehead. His lips curved upwards into an eerie smile.
*Crack*
Despite loud cheers from the surroundings, Cyril heard a loud crack since he was beside the contestants.
He opened his eyes wide in shock.
Fraer just broke his opponent's hand. No, he crushed it, to be exact.
"Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!" Fraer's opponent screamed in pain.
Fraer seemed to realize what he had done and released his hand. The opponent shook his hand in the air trying to ease the pain but to no avail.
His scream made the audience realize that something was wrong and stopped cheering.
"Something seemed to happen. I wonder what happened."
"Looks like he broke his hand."
"He looks to be in pain. But, did he win? I put all my points on him. As long as he won, I don't care even if he broke his hand later."
"I hope he loses. Look at how he was crying. I am sure he lost. Looks like I made a fortune today."
There were many such discussions in the crowd. No one cared how the man was. Most of them were worried about their bet and their points.
Cyril looked at the man who was screaming like a pig and looked back at Fraer.
Even though Fraer realized what he had done, except for releasing the man's hand, he did not have an ounce of guilt on his face.
His entire concentration was still on Cyril and Cyril alone.
Cyril couldn't help but frown.
He understood one point though.
When Fraer broke the man's hand, Fraer was thinking it was Cyril's head in his hand.
The anger Fraer had on Cyril was projected on his opponent's hand instead.
At this sudden realization, Cyril's back stiffened.
An enemy inside a prison? It is definitely not good.
If it is a normal enemy, Cyril could manage using some of his tricks. But this enemy seemed to want to kill him. How should he avoid such an enemy in this place?
He looked around. Not a single person was worried about the wounded man. Everyone was selfish and only cared about their own points which were equivalent to money inside this prison.
With such people around, there is no way Cyril could expect anyone would help him deal with this new enemy.
As Cyril was in his thoughts, he did not realize when Fraer stood up and came to his side. Before he knew it, he felt the man whispering dangerously in his ear, "Searching for someone to help you? Didn't you make sure no one could ever help me? Now you are in the same position as me. This just got interesting. Now that I got you in my hands, I will play slowly and nicely with you just like how you played with me before. What do you say, Deputy Director Cyril Carcer?"
Cyril froze as his lips trembled. "Director Fraer?"
He finally realized who this man was.
"Oh? Looks like the great heir of Carcer Conglomerate remembered who this puny creature is, huh? I feel very honored, sir." Fraer's voice was laced with sarcasm as he uttered each and every word.
'Oh no! A big enemy indeed!' Cyril thought to himself in defeat as he gave a helpless smile to the audience who were trying to peek at him to find out the results.
