Chereads / Island Prison System / Chapter 11 - Stall and sports

Chapter 11 - Stall and sports

Now, he could earn nothing but had already spent so much of his points.

The only little source of his income could be the contract he had just drafted with Rian.

According to the contract, Rian would pay 20xp of rent per day as long as he stayed in his den. In case either of the parties violated the contract, the person who broke the contract would pay 100x the price.

If Rian paid him 20xp per day, then for the following month, Cyril would earn 600xp.

For a den he bought for 2kxp, earning 600xp was not a bad deal.

Cyril thought for a second and felt this was not a bad idea. Then a couple of ideas kept flowing in his head.

He looked at Rian and calmly said, "I will drape a curtain over here and divide the place. You can place a bed or whatever you want on the other side of the den and use it as yours. Is that okay?"

Rian nodded immediately, "Sure. Thank you for all the trouble."

Cyril Just smiled and bought a curtain using his system. He did not waste any time and put the curtain, dividing his small den into two parts.

Ryan used his own points to buy a bed and placed it in his part of the den.

then they busied themselves into buying whatever was necessary from their systems and once in a while, they had a casual conversation with each other.

Maybe because they had friends accompanying them, the time passed easily.

Cyril then went outside his done and looked around. the land he bought wasn't rest in but a little space outside the done as well.

From his system, he then bought a small stall and placed it in the space in front of his den.

He made a couple of random banners and hung them on top of the stall.

Rian came to him and asked him, "What are you doing here? what is this stall for?"

Cyril replied calmly, "Nothing much. I just decided to earn my points using the stall."

"What are you going to sell?"

"No idea."

"Huh? What do you mean by that? how can you not know what you are selling?" Rian was confused.

"There aren't any fixed products I am selling here. I will sell a few random things and then rent a few. I may also provide some services. As long as I can gain my points I will provide anything my customer needs." Cyril smiled casually.

"Woah! You can do that? You are really amazing to have such an idea inside a prison." Rian was amazed.

Cyril's lips twitched at his comment. He actually forgot that he was inside a prison.

At this moment, all he knows is that he is poor and he has to earn some money for his livelihood or he will starve to death.

As a businessman, the only thing he knows how to do is a business and that was what he decided to do.

With his limited resources, he can't be picky about what to sell and what not to sell. Whatever he could supply to his customers, he would. He needed all the money he could earn. Well, not money but points.

He couldn't say anything regarding Rian's remarks. He just chuckled to cover up his embarrassment and decided to change the topic, "Enough about me. What are you going to do? I remember you said you are a sportsman, right? So, which sports are you going to play to earn your points?"

Weirdly enough, as soon as Rian heard his question, his eyes started to water.

"..." 'What did I do now?' Cyril was dumbfounded as he had no experience in dealing with crying people.

"Umm, what happened? What are you crying? Did I say something wrong?"

RianSnee full softly and shook his head, "No, you didn't say anything wrong. But being a sportsman inside this prison is not optimistic at all."

"Huh? What do you mean by that? No matter what, your system should have given you a few tasks and you have to finish them right? I am sure you can find a way to finish those tasks and gain your points. Then what is the problem?" Cyril did not understand as he asked in confusion.

"You are right. I do have the tasks, but the problem is that my tasks are not related to a single sport."

"Huh? You mean….?" Cyril had an idea but he felt that it was too ridiculous and couldn't finish his sentence.

But Rian understood what he wanted to say and nodded with his crying face, "Exactly as you are thinking. Each of my tasks is related to a different sport and there are almost all the sports in the world included.

"Do you know? The system even considered chess as a sport. Look at me and tell me. Do I look like someone who can play chess?" Rian asked as he was on the verge of crying.

"..." Pardon Cyril for wanting to laugh out loud at his sad situation. he tried his best to stop himself but couldn't anymore and, "Pfft hahaha"

"..." Rian was speechless. He did not expect his one and only friend would laugh at his situation like that so mercilessly.

"Ha ha ha, I am so sorry. I couldn't. Chess? Ha ha," Cyril continued to laugh.

Rian looked slim and lean just like Cyril. But he had muscled in his calves and arms. It showed he worked out. It also showed he was a sportsman who was used to running.

Also, with his goofy smile, one could tell that he wasn't smart at all. He is a silly kid who wouldn't even find out if he was sold by someone.

Of course, Cyril wouldn't look down on him entirely. After all, he was a prisoner in this high-level island prison. No one here could be underestimated.

But playing chess doesn't just need street smarts like the ruffians and criminals who were trapped here. The smarts required for playing chess are a whole different level.

There may be a few prisoners here who could play the game but Rian? He doesn't look like someone who would even understand how to play it.

After he finished laughing, he looked at Rian, "I am sorry. But that was too funny. So? Except for chess, what other sports do you have to play?"

"There are many. There is basketball, volleyball, beach volleyball, tennis, badminton, football, cricket, baseball, hockey, chess, Uno, rock paper scissors, snake and ladder, Chinese checkers, chess, carrom board,..." As he continued listing the 'sports', Cyril couldn't bear to hear them all and raised his hand to stop him.

"Stop it. Stop it. The first part of what you said was so good. What happened to the second part? The dip was so steep that anyone would fall down to death. Why did rock paper scissors and snake and ladder join this list? Can they even be considered as sports? They just depend on luck, right? Wait a second. Are there card games other than Uno as well? Like poker and stuff?" Cyril asked seriously.

Rian pursed his lips and nodded without speaking a word.

"..." 'Even gambling is considered as 'sports' by this system?' Cyril was really speechless.
