As Rayne and Liam stepped out of the apartment building through the back entrance avoiding the front where a few media people still waited, they were greeted by the serene glow of the full moon hanging high in the night sky. A balmy breeze swept their hair back.
The street was bathed in the soft illumination of streetlights, casting long shadows and creating a peaceful atmosphere. Despite the late hour, a few sirens wailed in the distance, and the occasional car hummed by, breaking the otherwise quiet atmosphere.
Rayne walked ahead, her thoughts swirling with anxiety about the impending conversation she was about to have with Liam. She knew whatever he planned to talk about wasn't going to be pleasant because she'd been at fault for not telling him about her pregnancy back then, and she was ready to face the consequences.
